i seemed to not have any problems until i started installing updates and software. after that i had some disk error. i couldnt delete anything and programs all of a sudden couldnt be opened and i couldnt move files from my c: drive (which contained vista) to the windows 7 partition. The popup suggested i use Chkdsk so i ran Chkdsk 3 times and that still didnt fix anything

Hello everyone, this is my first post :)

I have found one very strange bug with pagefile settings; for some reason my hard drives are not recognized and I can not set the page file. When I check Automatically manage paginig file size for all drives, confirm the dialog and then reopen it again, the option stays unchecked :|

Any idea? Many thanks in advance.

Windows 7 complained a few times about a corrupt MFT volume bitmap on my laptop's data partition. Vista made no peep about it. I remember reading a post on this subforum where another user experienced the same problem.

Anyone have bugs with Firefox and WLM 2009? If I have no open messenger/contact list windows and I minimize Firefox, for some reason the contact list pops up.

Actually, I think I had the same thing but I wasn't paying much attention and thought it must have been something I'd done. I seem to recall the Messenger window popping up on a few occasions when I minimised another application (I don't know whether it was Firefox specifically).

i found this morning while watching video either using media player or media player classic and rela player i would lose internet , used fix a problem it got the connection back then it would lose it again .. run dignostic it told me to reboot my modem which i did it saw the internet then lost it again

only after i stoped watch vids then ran fix a problem again it got the connection back and now is stable

whenever i'm playing a song under windows 7, any program (tried windows media player, foobar2000, vlc, and songbird) my network will cut out completely, a repair of the network adapter will fix it, and the network will be fine until i play another song.

I am not able to get the snipping tool to stay pinned to the taskbar.

1. Pin to taskbar

2. Launch from taskbar

3. Take some random screenshot

4. Click the close button

5. Hit No on save prompt

6. snipping tool disappears from taskbar

Here's a couple I've found:

  • If you create a 'New Folder' in the All Users group in the Start Menu > Programs folder, then attempt to rename it, you can't; you get a message saying it's in use. You can delete it though. Anyone else had that?
  • Windows Defender doesn't start up by default. The little notification pops up and says that Defender isn't running. I have to click the message each time to start it.

After 2 days of use i reformated my laptop back to Ubuntu 8.10 :)

Well gee, good for you. I am glad you could interject your linux rox0rz pwnx0rz into a thread for no purpose what so ever.

Anyone noticed a problem with the Orb cutting off if you move it to the top of the screen if you have a secondary monitor active?

I have a strange one.

When I shift/del or just del any file or folder it does so, but only some of the files/folders. If I try to del again, then I get the 'you need admin privilages to do this'?? I am the admin, and UAC is set to 'never notify'. Clicking 'continue' does nothing as I dont think the files/folders are really there anymore. The folders/files remain until I reboot and then they are gone?

x64 version.

I noticed that as soon as I opened Calculator. I really do hope they address it as, while nothing major, it is a distraction and shouldn't happen, especially not for one of the built-in apps (one that's used a lot).

OK, the attached image shows you what WMP looks like side-by-side another app (in this case Firefox). As you can see the WMP window on the right overlaps the right hand side of the Firefox window so you can't see the Close, Minimise or Maximise buttons in FF.

This seems to happen everytime but is only a problem with WMP.

As I said in my previous post, this is a fairly vanilla Windows 7 install with no additional codecs installed. WMP isn't doing anything special either - I just opened it and pinned it to the right hand side of the screen. Note that I could have pinned it to the left and side of the screen and the same thing happens.

I have this bug as well. Any two programs works just fine as long as one of them isn't media player.

    • Sorry to be that guy but, Given Trump won again even after a failed first term it would appear attacking the other side is how to gain Government in America. Voters when it came down to it didn't give a s**t about those Democratic achievements and voted for Trump over an intelligent, qualified mixed race woman. We need to face up to this uncomfortable reality. There are more Americacan voters who support racism and christian bigotry along with defending and supporting pedophilia, adjudicated rapists, multiple time convicted felons etc than those who don't. Btw, that is how the world sees America now. Not that Trump voters care as they attempt to cocoon themselves in a white supremacy bubble.
    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.
