I'm getting the same problem on my laptop. Can someone please look into this?

CHKDSK keeps complaining about a corrupt MFT bitmap and it's not fixable with chkdsk /f. Before that, there were a few index entries that got deleted while chkdsk was cleaning up the drive.

Its random this delete problem I have, as it was working 10mins ago but now it aint??

Here is an example, folder is empty, but no go for delete. Even 'taking ownership' makes no difference??

I can click 'try again' till the cows come home and it wont delete. If I leave it alone for a while and try again, it may delete but its not guaranteed. This happens with every file or folder.

I'm going to try backing up my entire data partition (files only), deleting all partitions, and performing another clean install. I've had MFT bitmap errors in the past, but they seemed minor and definitely didn't trigger any notification popups.

BTW, were you using the 64-bit or 32-bit build? I don't recall running into this problem while using the 32-bit build.

i'm using the 32bit version. (although i was using 64bit product key. i dont know if that makes any difference)

I had a problem, that is probably also partly related to my mobo but I have yet to upgrade the bios. When the machine is going into hibernate mode, the box is running, and the power/signal to the monitor, mouse and keyboard go off like it should. When I move the mouse around the laser kicks back up but the monitor nor keyboard do (tried hitting keys as well). I waited a good while and it still didn't come back so I had to manually power it down. Thankfully each time I did this firefox came back up with the windows again. I turned off the hibernate mode and didn't have the problem again even with the monitor settings to go off after 30 mins on. I like to stream off it anyway so I don't want the drives going to sleep in the first place.

I don't know if it is a Windows 7 or a Adobe bug. I installed Acrobat Reader 9 and everytime I open a PDF document inside the browser (Chrome, FF) a blank error or info window opens up with just one OK button and nothing else inside.

Neither the product key nor whether Windows is activated or not have any impact upon how it runs, despite what some have suggested.

This happens to me on Opera too...

Have no idea which is the culprit.

I have a strange one.

When I shift/del or just del any file or folder it does so, but only some of the files/folders. If I try to del again, then I get the 'you need admin privilages to do this'?? I am the admin, and UAC is set to 'never notify'. Clicking 'continue' does nothing as I dont think the files/folders are really there anymore. The folders/files remain until I reboot and then they are gone?

x64 version.

I have seen this also. It occurs in the x86 version as well. I have found that deleting sub folders at the lowest level will allow the deletion of the parent folders. However, some folders just can't be deleted until reboot occurs. This has been reported I believe.

Installed fine, running fine, moved my gadgets to where the sidebar should be, restarted and now there are no gadgets and the context menu option for gadgets does nothing when clicked.

Is anyone noticing a slow start-up time? When I first installed Windows 7, it started up quick (less than a minute). Even when I installed my antivirus (AVG), it was still really quick. Now, my startup time takes 1 minute and 47 seconds. This is absolutely horrible. I haven't installed any new software. Actually, I haven't even touched Windows 7 in over a week.

Why does this happen? The same thing happened to me with Vista. I remember having full cold boots in under 30 seconds. Then, like overnight, the startup times more than doubled (and stayed that way. Even after a new clean install.) My HDD is fine, so this really makes no sense.

Am I the only one?

x64:

[bug] I've found an aesthetic bug with thumbnails. After resuming Windows from hibernate mode, if I hover with my mouse over icons in the taskbar for applications that are already running, I can't see the thumbnails for the programs; rather, I just see an empty gray box with the program's icon in the middle. The thumbnails reappear however if I click on one of those thumbnails to open up that window. If I again hover over the application's icon in the taskbar after doing this, I now CAN see the thumbnail.

There seems to be a bug between Firefox 3.1 beta 2 and WLM 2009.

Open your contact list, then minimize it. Open Firefox, then minimize it. Right after minimizing Firefox, the contact list restores itself.

(If you can't reproduce this, make sure WLM isn't running with Vista compatibility settings. I suspect this has something to do with how WLM 2009 handles that mini window with your display picture on it.)

My weather gadget worked fine for a few days docked in the top right corner. Now sidebar.exe won't run even after restarting the computer. Seems like the exact same problem as yours. Let me know if you get it sorted out. :)

This is a known bug, it has also been reported, to resolve the issue re enable user account control.

This happens when the user sets user account control to dispaly no messages.
