Hopefully this will be the last time I have to start the download. Tried downloading the x64 version three times already at 160kb/s, failing halfway each time.

It only took one shot for me. If you are trying through the MS servers and it is failing, then try some of the mirrors mentioned earlier in this thread. Those should be more reliable. Also, switched to a wired connection if you have not already done so.

Hope you'll enjoy wiping all those when the Beta expires.

Keep in mind RC will probably come around April/May, yet alone RTM might be leaked by August if everything stays as smooth as it is now. With that said, most of us will not even have to worry about expiration to begin with.

I got to final restart only to be told upgrade was unsuccessful on a 9 month old acer aspire 6920 laptop!

Has anyone else experienced a failed install?

Should I try a clean install? TIA

The upgrade option is quite unreliable and sometimes does fail. I did not have the same problem as yours, but ended up getting an error message after the first restart. Just go ahead and do a clean install.

Clean install is the only recommendation to do.

I have successfully installed Windows 7 on this Acer Aspire 5100, which is older then that.

Just got my key =))))))

I haz had installed crack before So I gotta reinstall

to get key on x_x

Lol nvm win 7 is still awesome!!!

I can tell you how to remove crack successfully so you dont need to reinstall, if you installed Orbit30 then i can help because i told him how to do it ;)

The keys i got yesterday are unique and i have 2 which are not generated by MS's site, which is good for me ;)

Guys, watch the talk about cracks, even if you are referring to removing them etc...

I'm not giving a link or telling you how to use it, I'm telling people how to put token.dat and pkeyconfig-xrm file back to its orignal state so they can use there key and it will accept it.

Don't you want things to be legit? Come on man i'm trying to help people remove something bad.

Just trying to give you advise mate. Take it or leave it.

lol, I don't think you realise how many keys 2.5 million is. I remember one of the Vista public betas was 'only' released to 100,000 people and iirc everyone who wanted it was able get hold of it.

Yeah but I was afraid since it seemed like the demand was so huge that 2.5 million keys would be nothing. I figured there was plenty more than 2.5 million peeps who want to get their hands on Windows 7.. :p

Is it still build 7000 like the unofficial leak was, someone I asked claimed it was and I wanted to see if it is true because some members here were stating that the official beta would likely be a different build than the unofficial leak..

Again

Can someone please post direct working links to Windows 7 beta???

If you look on the front page you can find this article.

https://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/01/10/p...dows-7-beta-key

Just read a bit into it and you will find the links for the x86/x64 versions.

My questions is: Are the keys are repeated for different users?

It's very strange

Yea, seems like originally there was everyone getting a unique key but it has changed now and there seems to only be like 5-10 keys which are different for 32/64 bit versions.

"I know many of you have had issues with the Windows 7 Beta site over the last 24 hours. As you may have noticed the download site has been up and running smoothly since this morning. That said, we apologize for the inconvenience that it caused some of you.

Due to an enormous surge in demand, the download experience was not ideal so we listened and took the necessary steps to ensure a good experience. We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, interest and willingness to beta test. It has been great to see the positive early reviews and feedback. As you know, this is a beta product. We are working hard to get Windows 7 ready and right. Your input is a critical part of that process. Thank you!"

    • Getting so tired of this push for that new useless slop over the less-useless old slop that at this point I just want M$ to have this nice, big, hearty cup of *FU*.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.168 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. • Thanks Microsoft but no, I find both iterations of Outlook terrible nowadays and switched back to Thunderbird at home.
