Microsoft love the OS X Dock.

Recommended Posts

If MS i going to use the whole Dock concept in their fake store (whatever THAT means, LOL), then do they need to make it so obvious? It's not the greatest thing to do for their PR. I could care less, they can take what they want. We've already got third party apps like Objectdock, Rocketdock, etc., that have been around for years. It's all fair game. But we DO know that the concept of the Dock is synonymous with OS X, regardless of its origins or any other Dock-like applications.

I wonder what MS' marketing department (which seems to be consistently missing the boat in terms of image control) were thinking when this idea was given the go-ahead.

But Apple was caught using Slave Labor

And Microsoft is unloading some development to Microsoft India. Probably due to cheap labor I would guess. Oh wait, Microsoft wouldn't do that! Right?

Wow, i dont think i'll ever be able to look at another mac fan boy the same.

I keep asking myself if this guy is serious lol.

Well, MS *is* using a Dock there.

It does give off a certain impression, regardless of any rational explanations. I'd complain about whatever MS division in responsible for that slip-up before complaining about the OP.

There are "dock" softwares available for the said job. Why does no one point a finger at them?

It's possible that MS never wrote that dock from the screenshot.

I use ObjectDock and RocketDock, and I am pretty sure you can customize either programs to look and behave similar to the OS X dock.

Wow! There's so much passion here about such a trivial issue. My mum taught me that if you're using somebody else's toy and they get all upset about it just give the toy back and find something else to play with. Time will tell if Apple has a tanty.

Gee Microsoft just love the OS X Dock don't they? First they take the idea and base their new superbar on the OS X Dock, in Win 7.

Now they rip the dock off in their own 'Retail Experience Store'. Far out!

That's not an OS...

Let me guess, the Blackberry Bold copies OS X as well?

OH NO! A horizontal row of icons at the bottom of the screen! Somebody alert Apple to this blatant rip-off!

If I line up icons across the left side of my monitor (as per the default behaviour in Windows), am I half ripping off Apples awesome design?

Microsoft are back in the limelight and it seems the Apple fanboys can't handle it, always looking to be the center of attention. ;)

^ You have to admit the one in the vid looks very similar to the OS X dock. The Blackberry Bold, well, anyone could've done that.

Apple gave the idea a distinct look by making all the icons "sit" on a dock rather than having icons sit in their own little box.

you really need to grow up a bit

I thought the point of the fake MS store wasn't to make a store, but to demo retail technologies. You know, so other companies who want to see how technology can improve the experience and efficiency in their own retail stores can come in and see MS's developments in, "Action".

    • Did Labour lose big? They had losses there is no doubt. However let's look at the reality. The conservatives have 168 councils I believe. Labour have 113 and Reform...38. That's a lot of growth for Reform granted. But that is not a wipeout, Reform don't have the majoring in fact at 76 I believe the Liberal Democrats have nearly twice the councils Reform do. So I am thinking there is a lot more noise than signal going on here. Now then let's talk about the law. It's an age restriction. We do it for cigarettes, **** and alcohol. This idea that some kids will find there way around it so it's not worth even trying is really really sad. Hell we can't stop every murder. Should we stop trying there too? That is the logical conclusion.
