Friend invite accepted. :)

I'm having so much fun in the co-op campaign with my buddy. We each have Terminator armour equipped and it's amazing. My buddy reached level 17 and he can already do ~1500 ranged damage. Unfortunately, Terminator armour does not go well with the Force Commander. It cripples my melee damage output; however, it's perfect with Thaddeus.

I highly recommend playing the campaign with a friend. It makes the game so much more fun. The item allocation alone is fun in and of itself. I can't wait to hit it up online. I've been itching to try the Eldar. The last time I used them was before the game's release. I'm also curious to see what has changed since the MP beta.

I've noticed that about the Terminator armor as well. I'm curious how the co-op works. Does each person control 2 groups or 4 or what?

yup each person takes 2 of the squads, usually my brother and i split up into force commander/assault marines and tacticals/devastators so one focus's on melee and the other at ranged, works well. everything is based off the hosts game tho fyi, so dont let the other guy host if you want to play it by yourself aside from coop.

Yep, that's how it works. You can only control 2 squads at once but there are more available. Going melee/ranged is the way to go. I control the Force Commander and Thaddeus (Assault Marines squad) and my buddy controls Avitus (Devastator squad) and Tarkus (Tactical Marines squad). I sometimes use Cyrus (Scouts squad).

Need to get back and finish the campaign and get some multiplayer action on this. Look me up on live and I might be in there playing soon, though up untill the weekend I think I'll mostly be doing some RC flight sims to prepare to take my new plane out this weekend :)

of course in team games, I'll be a -50 handicap to anyone else :p

In case you haven't done so already, register your game at THQ. You'll get access to the Chapter Command Wargear Set (see here). I just got my code and redeemed it with the Games For Windows LIVE client.

I have registered, got my code, and downloaded in Windows Live Client.

Is this only available in Multiplayer? I am new and not sure where it appears or how you use it,. I have only done about 4 missions in campaign so far. But excellent game tho :D

The gear is only for singleplayer, the chapters and colors are for multiplayer (i.e. "fluff" customization without affecting multiplayer balance).

How to enter 1.4.1 beta (it's open for all)

Beta patchnotes (long):

Thanks for the links!

What do I have to do to use them in Single player? Or do I have to unlock/find them?

The new wargear will only appear in a new campaign, not an existing one.

They should be in the inventory when you start a new campaign, but you have to gain level to use them. I was gonna check, but apparently there is a problem so I can't get my DoW2 contents from GFWL at the moment.

Edit: Anaron had already answered, I'm a bit tired.

Also some of the things are for MP only. Like the different colored skins. That wasn't very apparent from the screen shots and descriptions they gave on the website.

Well, they did mention the exclusive metallic colours. I believe that's the only benefit for MP. The rest of it are merely items for the singleplayer/co-op campaign.

I was hoping to try the beta today but I guess I could wait until tomorrow. The changelog mentions the addition of new wargear in the campaign. I wonder what they added. :p

    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
