[Official] Killzone 2

Ask Munky for an invite.

He can invite anyone I think from his friends list, even if they don't have the game. I've seen Sethos and some others on the "pending" list - http://www.killzone.com/kz/clan.psml?kz_clan_id=4048

In fact, I might be able to invite you, 2 seconds. I don't think you're on my PSN list though? Invite sent :)

Cheers dude (Y)

Well had my first run in with higher ranks, they basically won the game for the other team, 3 very high ranks running around with rocket launchers, and sniper rifles.

They are even tougher to kill, starts to make me wonder about balance.

I saw a video today about one class, that can run twice as fast and has more health, and strong weapon, that sounds unbalanced to me, lol.

Nope, but I've seen enough footage from the game to get the general idea to how it looks and it looks dated to me. To be brutally honest most games look dated to me now, even Gear 2 on the 360 looks dated (which is suppose to be one of the best looking games on the 360). It's hard to explain, it's not that it doesn't look good but more it's just the same old thing made to look prettier, maybe dated is the wrong word to use...

 8-12 hour single player campaign, that's quite short. Probably longer then most games these days though, which is another problem I have with modern games. God I miss the days of the games that took months to finish :(

Maybe you should game on the PC then?

If KZ2 looks dated to you, and even GoW2 (which is still a good looking game), you're in for a disappointing console generation. Things will probably surpass these games over the years, but they are most certainly not dated.

8-12 hours is around the standard for an FPS game.

Any chance you could throw one my way whilst you're at it, ready for tomorrow? Cheers!

Sure

Remember AB we want people in the clan who are regulars and actually play. Not people who just "want to be part of something" and never partake.

Getting tired of the messages I can't join because of my rank, wtf (N)

Yeah I know, I've got most of these guys on my PSN list already, therefore I know they'll play when they can. Not inviting anyone I don't know/isn't known on NW, you can deal with those requests seeing as you're in charge.

We do need people who'll play, seeing as it's easy to arrange clan face offs I foresee us playing a lot of games. Plus we want a **** load of Valor to look 1337 ;) As it says online as well, you can't cancel clan matches, it goes down as a forfeit and you lose your valor. Meaning we do need a fairly healthy and sizeable clan so we can get people to step in if someone goes missing on the night.

Does that mean your not allowed to play?

Oh snap. :p

KZ2 MP > Every other ****ty PS3 FPS game.

Snap :p

Poor R2, it's going under with this - Mainly because of the clan and tournament integration. That's just going to take everyone's interests as long as Guerilla keep feeding the game with new content/tweaks and updates. Actually having a reason to play online other than just to stroke your own e-penis gets me interested, as I'm never usually one to get wrapped up in individual ranks. If I'm helping a team/clan however, it's more interesting.

Encourages team play more than just running around going "HAI GUYZ IM RANK 99, IM GONNA GO SIT IN THIS CORNER AND HEADSHOT Y'ALL".

Well I do game on PC as well, providing my PC is up to the challenge (it's hardly a gaming beast). I know it's coming across as me saying the games look visually poor but really, that isn't what I'm saying. They do look good I'd be insane to say they *look* rubbish. What I'm trying to (badly) say is more in the lines of how they are made. Every version of a game is just a better looking version of the previous, nothing really groundbreaking, just the same old recipe. I dunno, I've just come to a point where I want more then just pretty visuals, I'm tired the of the "dated" solution to making things prettier to solve everything. I'm sure there is more to KZ2 then just the visuals but there doesn't seem to be anything outstanding that makes it different from every other FPS?? I think part of the problem for me is everything more more multi play oriented which is great if you like that sorta thing but not so much if your still clasping at the old ways of offline gaming. There are still some great "offline" games out there still which I am grateful for.

Ah, well I hate to admit it but I've made quite a fool of myself right now  (I still stand by what I said, as that is how I feel in general about the direction of games) however, I somehow (god knows how) got Killzone 2 mixed up with Resistance 2 in my head! which was a rather silly thing to do...so might pay to actually play the demo now :p (considering I've only seen a couple of screenshots - Resistance 2 was the one I saw all the gameplay footage etc). I blame it been Friday and that I'm feeling unwell and very tired :p

maybe someone can answer a question about assassination mode, why doesnt the target just hang around the spawn? there are autoturrets (presumably to stop spawncamping) but it seems to me you might as well have them defend you in that game mode (unless there just for show, i have never actually seen them attacking anyone)

Because that is one of the biggest problems they've created when you mix & match gametypes in one match. People just don't pay attention to what is going on and they run and gun. So high chances the target doesn't even know/care and just runs around like a headless chicken.

Stupid idea imo, I've disabled Assassination in the clan matches for this reason (Y)

FYI, you can destroy the turrets very easily if you place a grenade well enough. They don't offer that much protection.

If you're the target, you need to be within a certain area of the map (it's indicated by a green glow on your HUD map) before you're eligible. If you're not in the designated area, then you won't make any progress towards victory.

Oh and trust me, they aren't just for show ;)

i dont see a problem with mixed game modes tbh, i got the hang of all but assassination in one match, the reason i didnt get how that works is i have not been the target yet.

people should upload there sp stats, if you have collected any intel you will be able to download the relevant item from killzone.com

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
