[Official] Killzone 2

where's the party system in this game? Why can't I join games with friends?

Welcome to PSN :p

As for the clan, I will be playing more of KZ2 and organizing games. I just want people to get used to it first of all and hopefully give people time to sort out microphones. Microphones are the biggest issue for me because I really need communication with my team. It's frustrating to sit in silence. Whereas being good at the game is not what Insomniacs is or was ever about. Its just to have fun with regular "faces" we know.

Now that $n!peR has reached top rank it might give me something to aim for and get back into it. I've barely played since Saturday though cause I was indeed getting bored. KZ2 has been one huge over-hyped game in the end for me. Still fun, but I just don't see it having the longivity I hoped for.

Hey Munky can I have an invite to INS? I think you missed my post ..

Yeah, I find that you have a circular dead zone of around 30 degrees of tilt on the sticks before anything happens. Then when you move beyond that it moves too fast.

It seems easier to get around this by moving your character rather than the gun.

EXACTLY, that is one of the biggest problems with the PS3 controller(s), that's why they suck so hard at FPS game - The acceleration in most games is beyond messed up. You can tilt the stick, it'll move at a set pace, tilt it some more and nothing really happens, tilt it yet some more and WHAM you turned too far. It sucks so hard.

People who don't notice these things are usually those casual players who usually go around sucking the floor and are just "playing to have fun".

This sums up my grief with this games multiplayer EXACTLY (Y)

That kind of thing cannot be blamed on the player, that's just borderline broken. I don't see whats so hard to understand about that.

did you make your way to the 2nd level? and make sure you take cover!

Yeah I'm on the 2nd level. I finish the first and second wave of enemies and when the rocket launcher guys come they always kill me damn it. I'm going to try to take more cover and see. After those guys I finally fight with Radec?

I hide behind stacked stuff on the left on the second floor.

You can usually take them out from right to left, and if you stand on the chair that is on the front of the pile of stuff blocking your way they wil fire missles that you can just back off the chair and they should miss.

after them I believe there is one more wave.. before you fight Radec but I don't want to spoil which type of guys .. soo I'll let you find out!.

Make sure you put headshots to the RPG'ers.. it'd be a easier and faster kill :D

Just got the game today, didn't like the controls in the beginning but I'm used to it now. Only been playing for 2 or 3 hours but I've never placed lower than 3rd place. This is with scores like 28 kills 23 deaths so it's strange that there is such a lack of skill.

Anyways, send me an invite if you guys can. Would love to play in a clan. :D

Finished it. Man I died a lot trying to get the knife and melee trophies. :D

I don't know how many guys with rocket launchers were in that last part but they were a lot. After killing like 100+ enemies hehe I killed Radec pretty quick. That last levl on Elite is going to be hard.

Now to play the game on easy to get some trophies and then try Elite. :D

lol congrats.. how did you think of the end?

Well I got General on it earlier today. Other than the obvious control issues I don't mind the game so much. Most of the people are morons but that isn't the games fault. Also I wish moving through the menus was faster. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

How many games have some of you guys played? You seem to be ranking up pretty fast while mine is taking ages (i've played like 5 matches and i'm not even a medic yet). Or are you just getting loads of kills in one game?

Just rack up the kills. Once you get the Medic badge you'll find yourself scoring higher in each game.

Are many people going to be around tonight? If there's enough of us, how about we set up a private server and get some games going?

lol congrats.. how did you think of the end?

I think Rico is an idiot lol. War could have ended with the capture of Visari but thanks to Rico things are going to get ugly. I guess they made an open ending to continue the game on Killzone 3. I like the game but didn't like the end very much. One thing I liked about the ending is that at first I didn't think they where going to kill Visari, that the good guys won and everything is over but after Visari's death and the scene after that with the Helghast fleet you get the feeling that the war is far from over. Reminded my of God of War 2 ending.

I have played a lot, I think more than 15 hours and Im almost at the highest rank. You dont only rank you need get ribbons and badges to level up the classes and after you level up a class it let you combine two classes. I fully level up medic and now I can combine it with another class. I want to unlock Saboteur, that class looks pretty cool.

Just rack up the kills. Once you get the Medic badge you'll find yourself scoring higher in each game.

I should be around, what time you thinking?

    • Turbo Pascal was my first real programming experience more than 30 years ago at university. I mostly taught myself from the included examples and help documentation, because the university only taught the basic syntax and philosophy of Pascal, without going deeply into Turbo Pascal’s advanced features. I still remember when I discovered that I could embed assembly language directly into Pascal code, call BIOS functions, manipulate screen memory, use mouse interrupts, and control peripherals from my programs. That opened huge doors for me. Programming back then felt really fun, direct, and close to the machine. What I loved about Pascal was its readability and the almost instant compile time. Turbo Pascal was an amazing environment, but unfortunately Turbo Pascal for Windows 3 did not feel like it fully carried that legacy forward. Later, Delphi got things back on the right track after the messy transition to TP for Windows. Sadly, Delphi suffered from years of uncertainty as it moved from Borland to CodeGear and then to Embarcadero. That instability made many developers lose confidence in it, even though Delphi itself remained a powerful and productive tool. I still work with Delphi from time to time, but I definitely miss the old days of Turbo Pascal.
    • I hope this encodes in to AV1 or AV2 as currently tiktok uses h265 and h264.
    • Qualcomm reportedly in talks to build custom video chips for TikTok parent ByteDance by Karthik Mudaliar Qualcomm is reportedly in advanced discussions to provide custom chip-design services to Chinese tech giant ByteDance, the same company behind TikTok. According to a report from Reuters, Qualcomm could be involved in designing custom silicon tailored for ByteDance's massive data-center workloads. If it goes through, the deal would make ByteDance one of Qualcomm's early anchor customers for its fastly growing custom chip-design division, For years, Qualcomm was the king of making smartphone processors and modems. The company has also been moving into the PC ecosystem and other formats such as on-device AI for Android XR headsets. However, this particular deal is about Qualcomm's custom Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). For a platform like TikTok, ByteDance needs hardware that can help it ingest, process, and serve billions of short-form videos daily. Generalised hardware is no longer the most cost-effective and efficient route, which is why ByteDance is trying to develop custom Video Processing Units (VPUs). VPUs designed specifically for ByteDance’s algorithmic needs could drastically reduce data-center power consumption and improve encoding speeds at an unprecedented scale. The underlying tech behind these processors is actually from Qualcomm's recent acquisition of AlphaWave Semi, a high-speed connectivity specialist company. By combining AlphaWave’s high-bandwidth IP with Qualcomm’s architectural expertise, the company could begin mass production by the end of 2026, if the talks go through. All this also comes at a time when U.S.-China tech relations have dwindled. Escalating trade frictions between Washington and Beijing have severely impacted the export of high-end AI chips from U.S. firms like Nvidia, AMD, and Lam Research. Yet, the Qualcomm-ByteDance discussions show that U.S. tech companies are still actively seeking growth avenues and are open to doing business with China, where regulators still permit. Reuters notes that the outcome of this deal could be uncertain, and ByteDance might also seek partners other than Qualcomm. via Reuters | Image via DepositPhotos.com
