Bigger view of the USS Vengence

Pay special attention the the "JJ Abrams'd" nacelles, then look at Enterprise-A's nacelles..does it click yet? :D Some people are saying it's from the future, aka post Star Trek Nemesis, but I believe this is actually a Starfleet prototype vessel, which explains the presence of Carol Marcus, as well as her showing Kirk & Company a piece of tech that appears "too futuristic for TOS". Also keep in mind guys, Nero pooched the timeline up good, and Abrams' Enterprise takes that into account when it was designed.

The mind games should be interesting. Hopefully this movie helps develop Kirks character to the more cool and collected version we had in the original. He's still pretty hot headed it seems.

Hey maybe Scotty will come up with Quantum Torpedoes in this one!

That's probably what Nero was using (fits his timeline) so hey maybe they skipped proton torpedoes...

You know, it wouldn't be the first time they've fired torpedoes while in Warp, it's actually part of the canon and not something JJ is just making up. Go back and rewatch the first Star Trek movie, Warp drive goes haywire and they have to fire a torpedo to blow up an object that's in their way iirc.

Yes but I said they can't fire weapons reliably, in TNG they made that clear several times. And specifically, torpedoes are easier to target in warp apparently, while phasers are much less accurate (I guess because they are energy based?).

Oh and not to nitpick but in TMP, they weren't in warp anymore when they had to shoot that asteroid, they were in a wormhole :p
