This mod works great on my Thinkpad T23. Once I turned off Glass2k, the UI was much faster. I like the vista start bar. It's very smooth and easy on the eyes. I was hoping to add a few requests for consideration in the next release.

1. In Vista build 5208 the icons in the Computer folder have bars underneath them indicating how full the drive is. This is an insanely great idea and I hope Microsoft keeps it. I was also hoping you could emulate it.

2. In the appearances pane of the desktop properties no matter what colors I select for the title bars and such, they never seem to apply. The machine just keeps using the defaults for the current theme. Is this a bug or a lmitiation of the theme?

3. Keep up the good work. Maybe toss in an alt + tab replacement that looks like the Vista one which kinda folds the window panes together.

Interesting pack. Haven't tried it yet, but not really interested in a complete transformation to the Vista Look and feel.

What I am after is a good quality WindowBlinds 5.01 theme and some icons. I am currently using the "arrow" theme by Mike Bryant. This is a very good theme, but does not take advantage of the blurred transparency effect that can be achieved with WindowBlinds 5.01 in title and task bars. Does anyone know of a Vista aero type theme that has this effect? The reason I ask is that I find that transparency in title bars without blurring is a bit messy and distracting. If the title bars had the blurring effect, theywould be much more pleasant to the eye and also go further to mimicking the look of Vista...

:)

I'm sort of new to this...but, dude!, your links take me to a page in which I can't download 05160504notlink.JPG, I can't click on them.

This theme worked great on my computer, except there was just one problem. After I used it, my computer was 10 times more slow. I made a restore point before I installed it, so I had to restore back and I'm right in the same place I was before.

So does anyone know what I can do to fix this before I delete it from my computer?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Thanks anyways to whoever tried.

bRADynelson,

When you come on here to ask for help with a problem and then figure it out, it is considered polite to tell us what it was you figered out. That way if others are having the same problem you will be helping them out to.

Ok, cool. It was like everyone said, uninstall Glass2k. I just hadn't bothered to go back a few pages. I'll do that next time.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
