On a Vaio Z (C2D @ 2.53 ghz, 4GB DDR3, 7200RPM hdd): Start Menu then type "cmd" to launch command line. It can take up to 10 seconds for the window the finally show up! Whereas typing "word" (Word 2007) comes in just 2 seconds. Yep, Word starts faster than the humble command line!!!?

Running CMD seem to load pretty fast to me, yet both of them load fast for me.

Problem with 24-bit PNGs in IE8 as per attached screenshot

Um what do you mean no they haven't? How are you going to tell me what problems I did or didn't have in windows 7? I had the same bug in 7022 and 7068 and it was fixed in builds up until 7100.

How about that I have a native 1440x900 resolution and it was still there? Hence, the problem is not 7.

well the only bug im getting is it keeps showing the wrong icons for the wrong apps on the superbar, anyone else getting this?

So just because you didn't experience the problem means that it's non existant? Your logic seems flawed to me. In screen resolution, it skips from 1366x768 (or whatever it is) to 1600x1200 which isnt even supported on my monitor.

I also have a monitor with a native res of 1440x900 and that resolution shows up. I think it's a driver issue and not a Windows 7 issue.

Is there a way to set the boot logo to be widescreen? It looks pretty bad stretched.

You said they "removed" the resolution, hence my response "No, they haven't". I never denied that you had a problem. :)

This doesn't scream "Release Candidate" to me at all. It screams "Done!". This is simply the best Windows release yet!

Well isn't a release candidate a candidate for release? So it should scream done. It should be a candidate for release.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that resolution and graphic quality are determined by the graphic display driver, not by windows itself.

So I loaded 7 onto my old Dimension 3000 desktop with integrated Intel extreme graphics crap. I think they changed the Windows Orb to the Old Windows PC logo after I ran the system assessment tool. :p

In 7000 already, I have copied over the "My Pictures Slideshow" screensaver (ssmypics.scr) from XP 64 and have been using it since, with no problems whatsoever :cool:

The Win7 "Photos" screensaver is a huge step back there, as it's a lot more primitive :pinch:

I use widescreen as well (1920x1200), and the boot logo is not streched at all.

What size is everyone elses Windows folder on x64?

Mines says 11.6GB, thought that was quite high :/ I usually Vlite, but I couldn't be bothered for 7100, so that might be why I'm not use to it being so high.

Disable Java SSV helper plugin. That solved the problem for me.

Another possibility is that Spybot or similar has added a huge number of entries to the Restricted Sites list - this slowed it down for me. Clearing that list fixed the slowness for me (after trying the plugin issue).

Here's a new feature I've noticed, more of a mouse gesture type thing.

If you go down to the Tashbar, click on an explorer window, or a MSN window. Click + hold and pull your mouse up and it'll open up the right click menu.

seriously the single biggest issue with 7 (and vista) is the tons of wasted space...

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but punkbuster works on 7100 at least on cod:waw!
