I got the problem today.

Although, the app still notified my incomming emails but I need to type the password again everytime when going to Inbox via web.

I guess google updates and does not allow access the gmail through plain text username&password included link.

Anyone has the similar problem with me ?

The version I used is the lastest one and the problem just appeared tonight.

The strange things happens when I installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Because the same link that Gmail Notifier Plus generate

https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogi...mp;null=Sign+in

That cannot log in my account if using my machine but it does when using another one.

I do not trust any Windows applications not made by Google that require you to login to web services using your Google account. Who knows if the author has put some code in there to transmit your login details to him...

I've seen others that save your Google passwords on the local computer in an open format. This just nor right. Google should only let their own Windows client software connect to their services.

This is a very bad trend that is starting. While I think this program is good, I hope it's the last of it's kind.

Just think what a person can do if they have access to your Google account...

They can have access to your Gmail, Adsence, YouTube, Analytics, Blogger, Web history, MySpace, Checkout, Calendar, Docs, Picasa, Reader, Alerts, GOOG-411.

Once they get all the data out of those accounts, they can change your password so you can't log in or worse still, they can close your account.

https://mail.google.com/mail/ would be the better address to open when you go to the inbox, because now I have to login every time I want to read or compose new mail. So if you change it to address I wrote, browser will remember me and open inbox without login form.

Hi I installed Gmail Notifier Plus for Windows 7, and during the installation there was some weird error.

Afterwards, it seems as though it had installed, but there is nothing in the Control Panel that looks like Gmail Notifier.

When I click the .exe file or open the ap, I can't 'Change Settings' at all, and of course the notifier never tells me if there's new mail in my inbox. Just about the only thing that works is 'Go to my inbox' which just opens up my web browser and the gmail page. So basically, all I can do is use the ap as a link on my taskbar.

I've tried to re-install, but as there's no 'Setup' file it's just an exe file that restarts the application. There is no uninstall anywhere, no folder in start menu, and I can neither remove it or put a new version in.

Any suggestions?

If it bothers you that much why don't you make a dummy email account and use wireshark to watch incoming and outgoing packets?

Also, gmail changed their login method, is this app going to be updated? It's pretty nice.

I just noticed a moment ago that it wasn't automatically logging me in.

Can anyone else confirm this or is it a problem on my end?

I think it's something related to Google. I use the Firefox Gmail Manager add-on and it's stopped logging me in as well.

I've got a similar application I've been working on, (None of the nice Windows 7 stuff this one has) but I just noticed that Google has disabled the old ability to automatically log in....

You used to be able to use a link with this at the start:

?service=mail&Email=(username)&Passwd=(password)&null=Sign%20in&rm=false

Alas, it seems that this has been disabled.

I have tried using the API to secure a token, but the mail service doesn't support it.

So for now it looks like automatic logins to Gmail are not possible.

However, if you're logged in on Gmail, links like "https://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox/12467129a9398d63" work just fine. Why not use that?

Also the "About" window doesn't work for me at all. The one under "Gmail Notifier Plus" in the jumplist.

Yeah both doesnt work for me :(

Its annoying i have to log every time i visit my own gmail.

Of course i want to check whats version i am on, i click like 6 times i thought it was lag or something but no.

Anyhoo, overall its AWESOME program :)

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
