How did you change the icons in your superbar? What is the name of the icon pack? Thanks.

You have great taste in music BTW! :)

hah! thanks man , I've been listening to that album a whole lot again after a while. one of my alltime faves

The superbar icons are a hit and miss for me , I'll explain below

I have tried to change the gmail icon , but it doesnt change yet

What I do: Lets take the Windows Explorer icon as an example

1) Rightclick the superbar icon

2) Rightclick the "Windows Explorer" button

3) Click Properties

4) Change Icon

5) Choose from your icon library of choice

6) Apply , Save etc etc

Now , here's the part I don't fully understand - when I do this - the icons don't change immediately. But after I try to install any random program, the icons I've changed update themselves and show as per my screen

The icon set I use is here Ecqlipse 2

Hope this helps!

Yes, it takes a while until the GUI refreshes.

You can "hard reset" the icon cache.

1. start cmd

2. kill explorer in task manager

3. in cmd go to \users\your username\appdata\local\

4. and type del iconcache.db /a

5. restart explorer

Your icons are changed

worst wallpaper ive ever seen

Picture is artistic IMHO and I like it, but I wouldn't recomend it as a computer desktop wallpaper/background.

At least not without a proper theme or matching skin.

    • Still hate Windows 11, I stuck it on my gaming machine again just for a nose to see what they had done, still as bad. Will restore Windows 10 back on it, suit MS anyway, they don't want me to run Windows 11 on it.
    • Ms did go with the you must sign into an account thing with Windows 8 for a while. The same sort of thing they are doing with Windows now and the MS account.
    • Hello, What sort of Microsoft Authenticator account login approval requests are you getting?  It is a generic authentication app and can be used with all sorts of services (Microsoft Account, Google Account, websites and services that support multi-factor authentication, etc.). • Windows 8? Nah. I found Window 8 worked well, get a third party start menu to get rid of the start screen, I used Start is back and windows 8 was pretty good. I used it even when Windows 10 came out as I found Windows 10 was iffy on my machine at the time was AMD FX Bulldozer based. It was only when I updated the innards to Ryzen that I had no choice but to go to Windows 10 as MS made it difficult to stay with Windows 8. ME, yes, that was not great, I liked the look of it, but it was not stable, shame really because Windows 98SE was the best of the dos based Windows.
