Smallville Season 9

Recommended Posts

We need to remember Quality is Subjective. I for one, amoung many to MOST core fans feel Smallville is at the BEST this season overalll. Last episdoe may or may not be a good episode, but this Season so far RULED! And, that's also a subjective opinion.

Polls have been done, many threads been made. That's what MOST core fans said and I Agree!

But looking at core fans reactions to this season, I am pleased with my opinion on that! :)

You know why your opinion is worthless?

Because you thought all the previous seasons were great too, and you argued with everyone about it. Therefore, you cannot be seen as a fair judge of this season.

Budget limitations are certainly hurting the show. Hardly any of the nice early Smallville effects (him running, jumping, etc. [remember all that flying about he did as Kal-el]). The black costumes, the limited number of locations etc. For CW's highest rated show, you would have thought they'd pump a bit more green into it.

Pretty sure there are a few shows on the CW that are higher rated.

See... You don't know what you are saying.

There is a BIG DIFFERENCE in Quality between previous seasons and THIS one. Everyone knows that, I think I just defended Tom Welling's acting and that Smallville wasn't bad as people say before (Still BETTER than majority of garbage on TV NOT that it's better than Lost or 24), but really this season's Smallville is WAY BETTER than the last few seasons and THIS season's Heroes.

Since you always bash me, like other guys here as well, getting too Judgemental and read only what you want to read, but ignore the actual TRUTH, I guess I can also say your opinion is worthless to me too!

The problem is, Jedi, the past two episodes had about 5 minutes of storyline from what we have seen this entire season. You are right when you say this season is better than the past few seasons, but how can you actually be impressed with the past 3 hours of Smallville?

Last Friday's EP was completely filler and typical Smallville mid-season crap. They build up stories, show after show, and then bring some retarded new character that only lasts one episode -as well as a throwback to a character we saw 10-20 episodes back. They have these type of episodes EVERY season and it just annoys the hell out of me.

Two weeks ago was just a massive Jack-off session to comic book fans, which while cool didn't add anything to the overall story except for the last 2 minutes. If they wouldn't have so many writers for the show, it wouldn't be as sporadic as it is. They need to sit down and get rid of these crappy "filler" episodes and focus on the great things they have done this season.

I'm hoping this week's episode finally gets back to the story they have been showing us for months now.

Yep and he needs his proper superman costume....the long black jacket and rough looking S make him look like some wannabe hero and not superman. Things need to get a move on and clark needs to kick some butt.

At the end of the last episode hinted the origins of the true superman red and blue tights where the kid hands him the drawing. Fillers are just something that we are going to have to deal with, but overall this is the best season yet by far. As long as they keep giving us a little bit more to think about each episode, it is enough to push it alive until the better episodes air.

Yea it's been an alright season, I want Lex to return though. btw I thought Zod was supposed to be bad ass? Even though he hasn't got his powers atm, he could act like a madman a bit more right? He's not exactly very menacing right now is he? Also it's about time there were a few more adults in smallville, everyone is so young. Enough with kids becoming heroes and then loosing their powers at the end of an episode. The extra long episode with Shanks was pretty decent, they should start getting more experienced actors on the show more often.

The show is 1,000 times better ever since She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named left the show(a good friend of mine on another message board came up with the name for her). The season with doomsday was going great until she showed up and slowed down all progress with Clark and Lois. Now that she is gone we are getting what we should have gotten 7 years ago. All thats left is that we need him to wear a real costume. What I think should have happened last episode is that Zatana cast a spell that makes no one recognize that Clark with glasses is superman. My only complaint now is 2 things, I cant believe they are going to do an Oliver Queen/Chloe love story now. Its just stupid because he is supposed to be going after black canary. Also what is the purpose of Tess Mercer at this point. If she knows what Zod is going to do, then why doesnt she just kill him herself to keep that future with the red sun from coming true? She is more than capable of having Zod killed.

To be fair to Lana, it wasn't her fault. It was always the writer's! They made Clark seem like a wuss, a forever teen who do NOTHING except say "I  you, Lana" then do a few little saving here and there. Now, he is wearing a cape (Except it's just Black) and doing MORE Superman-ish stuff, that's the difference.

And, he is in love with Lois who he supposed to be in love with in Comics... He a grown MAN now!

If they bring Lana back, but he isn't "I  you so much, Lana" anymore, I doubt any fans would complain about her.

No one cares what the crazy people who go on kryptonsite think.

And calling comparing a fanboy's wet dream (Absolute Justice) getting a good 'review' from fanboys on kryptonsite is a joke.

And you picked a random crap episode from last season to compare it to? To say that this season is better than last? And that makes it a fact? It doesn't work that way. I can do that too ...

http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100169

73% at '7' or higher. That clearly means, in your illogical world, that last season was better.

Or http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63049

93% at 7 or higher. That must mean it is the greatest hour of television in history, right? Since its higher than Absolute Justice. Oh, and whats the common theme? It was the introduction of Green Arrow. Notice how the ones with the other superheroes are the ones that get good 'reviews' over there? Thats because they are watching for the tights.

The show has sucked since ... Reckoning, when Jonathan died. Sorry, thats just the way it is. There have been interesting episodes, and some good episodes. But nothing great. The acting still sucks, the story still sucks, and when they build something up, it always disappoints.

No, that's because the CORE Superman/Smallville fans like this show because of these reasons.

There are of course, really good episodes from last season better than this season, and that's not anything Illlogical at all. However, what's really important is this season has MUCH MORE good episodes in comparasion to last!

And stop watching the show for Acting and Story-galore.

It's a Super Hero show like Super Hero comics, and cartoons but acted with REAL actors for little bit older audiences than your cartoon audiences.

It's NOT, and NEVER meant to have Emmy-winning acting or mind-blowing plots you may see on 24, Lost!

I know you don't want to hear this, but it's ultimately YOUR fault you expect it to have these type of acting and story with this show!

but it's ultimately YOUR fault you expect it to have these type of acting and story with this show!

Hmmm, so you're saying that the show is ok as it is, and it's our fault it doesn't live up to our expectations? Shows are designed to capture audiences, I fail to see how some network executive would say "ya know, it doesn't matter if they like it or not, it's their own fault really".

There comes a point as the actor have to take a moment and look at what the writers are doing to your character and have to say something about it to them. I am pretty sure she knows she was the most hated character on the show at this point. For instance the guy that played doomsday was very upset how they twisted his character towards the end. He was supposed to be a victim of circumstance but they made it where even without the monster he is still a killer. That killed his character in more ways than one. It made the whole Let's kill Jimmy off cuz he is too old to be on the show thing that much worse. It actually hurt Chloes character in the process. If Jimmy had died another way I could have dealt with that alot better than the way they did it. Also my hatred for She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named SWMNBN for short, comes from how Clark traded his father's life for hers. Now if his father had died any other way, yeah I know he was destined to die, I could have dealt with that better and not have a hatred for SWMNBN. She was just a piece of eye candy that just wasnt worth it in my opinion. When she saw how they started to butcher her character she should have spoke up then, yeah it might cause you to loose your job but at least the fans wont hate you. I really think because of all the crap that happened on the show with her it hurt that epic phail of a movie street fighter even more than it should. I knew it was phail because they used a girl with skinny thighs when we all know Chun Li as huge thighs. Also they should have kept Super Girl around longer if they really wanted more eye candy she looked wonderful.

Hmmm, so you're saying that the show is ok as it is, and it's our fault it doesn't live up to our expectations? Shows are designed to capture audiences, I fail to see how some network executive would say "ya know, it doesn't matter if they like it or not, it's their own fault really".

The thing though, is the CORE fans are Loving it!

I don't care what the ratings say, it's what the CORE fans on Internet say that matters.

these could be potentially 2 of the dumbest things i have ever heard in my entire life...

Today The CW has given early pickups to five series for next season, but not to their hit series Smallville. Is the current 9th season the last? We ask our inside source!

The inside source tells www.series.nu exclusive: ?The show is not (yet) renewed or canceled but its a difficult decision. Despite the fact that the show has good ratings on their new night, and that the studio makes a lot of money with the DVD?s, the show also costs a lot.?

So Smallville will end after this season? ?Don?t expect the show getting renewed (or canceled) in a couple of weeks, because The CW is likely to wait with a final decision after they have seen some of their pilots.?

Source: http://www.series.nu/news/the-cw/exclusive-smallville-canceled

I lost touch with this show after Season 6. I watch all of it, was getting into the show a lot and then lost in touch with it. The few month gap till the new season started / the channel change threw me off and I couldnt quite get it down in my head to watch smallville on fridays or mondays etc as it aired new episodes. Im also on dish network and in my town they changed the local channel that smallvillle is on twice. Threw me off.

But after seeing this thread(just the front page, no spoilers or anything) I plan on picking up season 7-8 and catching up on 9. I see the next episode to air is on friday, thats a NEW episode as listed on Dish and IMDB. I plan on watching it, scheduled a reminder too haha. The episode is "Persuasion". In the next 2 days im gonna be watching a LOT of smallville lol.

But im glad Jedi that you brought this to my "attention". I really liked this show.

Smallville: I'm told it's very likely that Smallville will return for another season, given that it is pulling in solid ratings (by CW standards)?an average of about 2.5 million on Friday nights. So why no Smallville pickup today? According to insiders, it's possible they are still finalizing deals with the actors and also want to announce Smallville's pickup separately, while also setting an end date, as it may be the final season.

Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO (with honorable mention to WiNToBootic for managing to keep up). It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USBs from ISOs. A non-exhaustive list of Rufus supported ISOs is available here. It can be especially useful for cases where: you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.) you need to work on a system that doesn't have an OS installed you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS you want to run a low-level utility Rufus 4.15.2393 Beta 2 changelog: Add RISC-V 64 support to UEFI:NTFS Improve the guards for using the "silent" option Improve the ability to cancel during write retries Improve progress reporting for compressed image extraction Fix unrestricted XML entity expansion and integer overflow in ezxml parser (courtesy of @esadowski4) [GHSA-55r2-34wg-8mv9] Fix "silent" Windows installation failing at 75% in most cases [#2960] Fix a crash during boot when using UEFI:NTFS on Snapdragon X based ARM64 platforms [#2934] Fix the first WUE option always being checked by default [#2965] Fix an infinite loop when using Windows ISOs that contain multiple WIMs Fix "Enable runtime UEFI media validation" checkbox not always being properly enabled Other WUE improvements/fixes for OneDrive removal and username validation (with thanks to @christian8641) [#2984, #2991] Download: Rufus 4.15 Beta 2 | 1.9 MB (Open Source) Links: Rufus Home Page | Project Page @GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Tixati 3.43 by Razvan Serea Tixati is a free and easy to use BitTorrent client featuring detailed views of all seed, peer, and file transfer properties. Also included are powerful bandwidth charting and throttling capabilities, and a full DHT implementation. Tixati is one of the most advanced and flexible BitTorrent clients available. And unlike many other clients, Tixati contains NO SPYWARE, NO ADS, and NO GIMMICKS. Tixati portable version is meant to run on a USB flash drive or other portable media. It stores all its configuration files in the same folder as the executable binary files, and all file paths are stored in a format relative to the program executable folder. It is important you do not delete the "tixati_portable_mode.txt" file within the executables folder. This file is what triggers Tixati to run in portable mode. (The executable binaries are actually the same as the standard edition binaries.) When running the portable edition from a USB flash drive, especially one that is formatted in FAT16/FAT32, you may experience some lag when initially loading a new transfer. This is because initializing and allocating large files on flash-based media consumes a greater amount of time and resources compared to a conventional hard-drive. Tixati has the following features: detailed views of all aspects of the swarm, including peers, pieces, files, and trackers support for magnet links, so no need to download .torrent files if a simple magnet-link is available super-efficient peer choking/unchoking algorithms ensure the fastest downloads peer connection encryption for added security full DHT (Distributed Hash Table) implementation for trackerless torrents, including detailed message traffic graphs and customizable event logging advanced bandwidth charting of overall traffic and per-transfer traffic, with separate classification of protocol and file bytes, and with separate classification of outbound traffic for trading and seeding highly flexible bandwidth throttling, including trading/seeding proportion adjustment and adjustable priority for individual transfers and peers bitfield graphs that show the completeness of all downloaded files, what pieces other peers have available, and the health of the overall swarm customizable event logging for each download, and individual event logs for all peers within the swarm expert local file management functions which allow you to move files to a different partition even while downloading is still in progress 100% compatible with the BitTorrent protocol Windows and Linux-GTK native versions available Tixati 3.43 changelog: Several major DHT improvements Added • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.
