Smallville Season 9

Recommended Posts

What new plot? Did they reveal that Clark is really Bruce Wayne or something?

I think he's mad that Zod can now fly because he was given a drop of Clark's blood (given to him by Clark himself).

Zod looked like he was going to jump off a building. I was kind of hoping that he would, and we would see "The End" come up on the screen, thereby finishing this show.

Really has gotten stale again.

All of you who posted above need ST*U and stop bitching. I accepted a long time ago that this Smallville was completely different spin on Superman. Yeah I think it's lame that a drop of Clark's blood can make Zod fly, but then it makes more sense that all Kryptonians should have powers if Kal El has powers. Just like in Superman II. But now Zod can give powers to the rest of the Kryptonians with his blood. Yeah I think the writer's got themselves in a hole again. Let's see how it turns out.

I kinda like where the show is going now. The whole Clark blood thing is going to make the upcoming episodes a lot more interesting.

So what next? All the other Kandorians are going to drink Zod's blood like vampires to get their powers back?

For whatever reason, I really didn't like the idea of Zod getting his powers back so easily without executing some newer grand scheme to replace the tower or something like that.

i know the writers put the whole no tights no flights rule in years ago, but one of the things i remember being great about the show way back in the early seasons was when clark was learning his new powers, he needs to fly already. I mean as as right now he manages to speed run off of roofs of a building with no one noticing, or him speeding away in the middle of a crowd.

^ Thing is, at Comicon last year (before Season 8 was kicking off) an audience member asked about the No Tights, No Flight rule, whether it was still valid going forward, the the writers actually said, "We're sticking with the No Tights" rule. Yet, 1 and a half seasons later, nothing.... :s

It?s a bird, it?s a plane, it?s the news Smallville fans have been waiting for: The CW has renewed the show for a 10th season!

The early pickup hardly comes as a surprise given how well the show has been performing in its new Friday timeslot. As The CW points out, the drama has ?dramatically improved? the network?s performance on the night in all major demo categories, including adults 18-34 (up 67 percent), men 18-34 (up 200 percent), adults 18-49 (up 75 percent), men 18-49 (183 percent), and total viewers (74 percent).

WEWT! Thats news I wanted to see! Hopefully the 10th season will be the last, and Clark will end the show with a nice lead-in to the movies and battle Lex :D

And hopefully Lana will come back, just for the eye candy!

  • 4 weeks later...

Smallville?s ninth season finale will feature a cameo by one of TV?s most feared guest stars: The Grim Reaper. Sources confirm to me exclusively that producers of the everlasting superhero saga are planning to kill off a major castmember in the May 14 capper. And if the death of ?Jimmy Olsen? last May taught us anything, it?s that no one ? and I mean no one ? is safe on Smallville. Okay, Clark is safe. But everyone else is fair game. A few characters are particularly vulnerable, which is my roundabout way of me saying the victim is listed after the jump!

I can confirm that one of these eight folks will be in grave danger come May 14:

* Lois: Okay, Clark and Lois are safe. But everyone else is fair game.

* Chloe: Allison Mack doesn?t have a contract for next season yet. Just putting that out there. Also, can you think of a more compelling hook to season 10 than Clark attempting to avenge the death of his BFF ? a character who just so happens to live outside the jurisdiction of DC Comics? mythos police?

* Lana: Rumor has it Kristin Kreuk was spotted on the Smallville set this week. Rumor also has it I fabricated the above rumor just to make trouble. Finally, there?s a rumor going around that one of the previous two rumors is 100 percent true. All joking aside, rumor has it KK is currently in Vancouver. Or is she? I?ve said too much!

* Perry: His return later this season is top-secret? so top-secret it makes one wonder.

* Martha: Her return later this season is top-secret? so top-secret it makes one wonder.

* Oliver: Green Arrow is a DC Comics property, but so was Jimmy Olsen. Death by loophole, perhaps?

* Tess: With Michael Rosenbaum attached to a new series, the odds of him returning as Lex have never been smaller. What does that mean for his placeholder? I imagine only bad things.

* Zod: He?s this season?s Big Bad. And by my calculations, this season is almost up.

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2.
