Oh man this game looks better and better the more I see it.

Can't wait for it, driving game of the year for me I think!

Considering you call every game you play GOTY, that's a bit hollow :p

Plus, with Forza 3 coming this year and possibly even GT5? Fat chance this will get anywhere close to Racing GOTY :rofl:

I don't know, the lighting still makes it seem like you're driving on Mars. It's got this yellow tint...

Also it's too arcade for me. I'll pass.

Driving game of the year, not goty :p

And I said for me, not for the entire industry/audience ;)

WRC > any other motorsport.

The only other goty award I've given is Street Fighter IV, and I stand by that too, it's gonna wipe the floor with KOF, Tekken 6 etc.

I've been using XP Mode for both Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142. Works flawlessly.

BF2 works flawlessly in Windows 7 :p

btw, did you do some tweaking or something to make the game run in W7 (xp mode)

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 Preview

10 Aug.

DiRT 2 boasts the cr?me de la cr?me of rally vehicles in an impressive garage; historical cars from the sport are included such as McRae's winning Subaru's that won the WRC.

....

DiRT 2 incorporates the realistic race types from the sport and still manages to include the competitiveness that racing games carry with them. My personal favourite was the scarily realistic staggered start, a new addition to the game and one which enhances the intensity of rally runs. If you've ever watched a World Championship Rally race you'll know that one car follows another in rally stages, and if an incident occurs with the car in front of you, it'll more than likely effect you when you get there. But it is a real rally feeling. You're in a queue of eight cars and set off at different intervals racing along a course as you aim to score the quickest time.

Anything on a damage model?

damage model is more complex than dirt 1, i think.

in some videos they show a 'Exploded view' of block's subaru, comprising of lots of parts.

Eurogamer Hands-on

Four-player races over system link are great fun. And while we're limited to trying out just a handful of multiplayer races at the event, every mode in the final version will be fully playable online. Codemasters wants to please everyone.

Pro Tour Mode is meant to service the hardcore, with game-selected circuits and anti-cheat methods implemented;

Jam Session is for lightweight Sunday drivers, where the player hosts and can pick where, when and what to race;

and private sessions, Party Play and Team Play are also supported.

Team Play would be fun :D

    • WTF! Nah, not this one. If you were back then using computers in the 90s or you had a clue, you'd know this was huge and was seen and overused absolutely everywhere and you'd take this article as no more than a retrospective story. That's all it is.
    • these "editors" get paid by the amount of articles and not the quality of content; hence why we get this random stuff from the same "editor" time and time again.
    • 256 times the quality of an audio cd? I think audio cd's sound good so even twice as good as that would be something.
    • It’s not about the NOx. It’s about the electrical field.
