Yeah there is no doubt the gfx have been improved by quite a large amount, there is no fault with them as far as I could see in the demo.

The handling sucks though. Definitely made it worse than Dirt 1's.

Damnit! Dirt 1 was among the worst of the worst in terms of handling. One of main gripes people have with Codemasters rally games is mostly handling, its that empty tin can on a nail center pivot thing. I cant believe they are doing it again. Why are they still going with that?

codeM has been usin 4-point physics or something for car handling since Dirt1.

imo, they dont need to put that much effort into physics, coz they made dirt1 over the top arcade game. will wait & see what dirt2 does with 4-point crap.

CMR05 was the last game which had that pivot thingy, but cmr05's car were better than dirt1 :p

anyone here have cmr05 now?

Huh, you know what? I agree with that. Codies just sucks at the physics thing in general I guess. Well if they are going arcade then give us some fun arcade physics and give the cars some weight.

well in that interview video they had before the game was released, they showed footage of rally cars driving alongside snowboarders and dirt bikes, and they even said that modern offroad racing is a form of extreme sport or something to that effect...

so im not really surprised, really....

Now that I think about it crossover rally is an event at the X-Games.

i play it on my psp all the time

I played this and to be honest i'm quite disappointed. I was hoping for a realistic rally sim and whats here is some overblown cartoony POS. Granted, it can be fun when you get the big jumps or whatever, but it's in no way realistic and the handling is just shocking. Why they've tagged Colin Mcraes name to it again is beyond me.

we cant keep blaming codeM, its not like they said they'll give us Rally game.

blame Sony for locking the official WRC game for their console.

they kept the F1 license too, buggers paid the price

no one bothered about the F1 games i guess.

dunno why they still have WRC license, if F1 doesn't sell, forget about WRC. lol

@San, Sony have always had the WRC license for as long as I can remember, but CMR has always been the better game regardless.

The direction of Dirt 2 was the wishes of CM himself, but I really hope they go back to their roots and create a proper CMR6. Otherwise it's going to be another case where their hardcore fans leave them because they aren't listening to them, in favour of the "casual racer", this time it's the american audience.

Screw WRC, I want Dice to bring out another Rallisport Challenge

What? Do you even know who Colin Mcrae is? Tagging his name to a game means it is going to be a Rally game, anything else is ridiculous.

lol

have you been to the codeM forum?

you can see the biggest rally + cmr fans there asking questions to codeM, codeM dont even bother to reply, some 13yr old retard will come & say "stop whining, dirt rocxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111!!!!! "

i believe thats been the case since CMR02.

my first CMR was CMR04 , so i dont know the old cmr's well, i really loved it, it was slightly realistic & it was FANTASTIC as a rally game. & then came CMR04 v2 - cmr05 :D , i loved it, tho it was a bit easy compared to cmr04.

& everybody knows that the sole reason codeM has put Colin McRae's name on their title is to sell the game in Europe. (does USA version carry his name?)

i think you're gonna be more ****ed off than rest of us :p

codeM has been telling that theres' a 'Colin McRae Memorial' race in dirt2.

it seems more of an 'last minute' thought than a proper respect for the 'mad max'.

a real tribute to Colin McRae would be remake of his Championship winning year into a game.

all the countries, stages, in full + weather effects.

or just remake of cmr02 in dirt2 engine.

dirt2 is not for rally fans. its for XGames fans.

see at the end people like you & me - rally fans - are left whining :(

atleast dirt had 'some' rally in it.

xgames is popular in USA, codeM wanted to make money, CM starred in xgames=rest=history :D

^doesnt the demo have local mp?

anyways, codeM has mp forum-

DiRT 2 - Racing Teams & Multiplayer

A friend and myself looked last night and the demo appears to have XBL multiplayer but no local. I asked because on that same screen they have "System Link" which is grayed out but I never saw a local MP where you could both race on the same screen.

    • Yes, THIS is wordart, not the styling that can now be done. Wordart was all about those curvy words, that you could change the path of, like making words go around a circle. I don't think it can be done now, right?

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. New features GH1196 Dark display mode support: Password Safe now supports the system display mode, as well as setting the mode directly via Manage->Options->Display->Display Mode. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
