Pupik
Methinks this is, as Audioboxer said, just a timed exclusive. That's just crazy. They're making a game which is meant to be played sitting on a couch. Porting that gameplay mechanism to the PC, is just impossible! Forget about it. Sethos
"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen." STFU  That is the biggest load of horse manure I've read in a very, very long time.
redfish
I don't believe MS or Remedy dug any graves. I think it's the pirates who have dug the graves. Devs are making less and less money on PC gaming, and console sales of games are trumping PC games. That said, a PC version will follow after the Xbox 360 exclusive timeline is over. Companies were making money on PC gaming in the early 90s when the PC market was still small. The PC market is much larger now, so despite piracy, there's more ability to earn money than in the past. They just have to make the right games and market them right. "Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen." STFU  That is the biggest load of horse manure I've read in a very, very long time. ?? Maybe you don't play strategy games like Civilization, but they make much more sense to play on a desk than from a couch.

Got fairly good review too. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/civilizationrevolution

Sethos
Maybe you don't play strategy games like Civilization, but they make much more sense to play on a desk than from a couch. As Buio mentioned, such a game has already been released for the 360. The only difference is the expanded controls on the PC with the keyboard and mouse, which allows for more advanced gaming but that is not what I read into the quote I posted - For me it sounds like the 'atmosphere' of whatever platform you pick. Like X game is just going to be rubbish sitting in your office chair whilst it will rock your world from the couch.
Buio
Its a pretty different game from the PC game, to start with. It's still Civilization and a strategy game, albeit with interface and other changes to suit consoles. Blackhearted
I don't believe MS or Remedy dug any graves. I think it's the pirates who have dug the graves. Devs are making less and less money on PC gaming, and console sales of games are trumping PC games. Devs are also making less and less effort on their PC games as well. Games and Ports are either: **** poorly optimized(see crysis), buggy as hell(see GoW1 port), inexplicably missing features that it should have(see mw2), or just plain bad compared to previous games(see UT3). So it's not only piracy, how ever much the money hungry CEO's want you to beleive. But of course, console gamers wouldn't know that.

Here is one review; http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/strategy/sidmeierscivilizationrevolution/review.html Its still different, and I'd still be rather playing the PC version, at any rate. I think a lot of Civilization players , even those who like the console version, would agree. I don't think think saying a game is more suited for a PC or more suited for a console is that strange an idea. Part of the difference is what controls are better, of course. Whether a mouse and keyboard or a gaming controller is better. But in the case where a mouse and keyboard are better, it also makes more sense not to sit five feet from a display. The point about games like FPS or sports games might be that you want more of a passive, cinematic experience.

Civilization got ported and successfully, you can read the reviews I linked. I don't have any prejudice about what is better playing where. It's the same with all people saying fps are best on PC with mouse+keyboard. Yet millions upon millions are playing fps games on consoles, and it is now a bigger market than fps games on the PC. Their comment was just a bad excuse.
Leo Natan
Please keep attacks out of this, it's not necessary. Merely just post your opinion like I have. I did; it is my opinion that what you said about piracy is very ignorant.
goji
This is absolute BS. I've been waiting for this for 3 years, built a quad core PC just for this game after Intel demo stressed multicore functionality, and now it's only for the 360? To heck with caring anymore. zeke009
Sod it, this game was supposed to be made with PC in mind i remember watching a demo using the then new out Quad core intel processor, if they dumb this crap down for consoles and give it a transplanted console onto keyboard and mouse control system they can shove the game where the sun dont shine. Are you talking about Halo?
