7600 is perhaps not definitely final, but it's very likely to be final.

More importantly though...

It's also very likely that the currently released 7600.16384 build is NOT final.

7600 is likely to be the final build number, but the leaked 7600 that everyone is talking about is not likely the final RTM.

Well, the rumour was that the RTM would be annouced today July 13th, so which ever build that poped online today, people willl assume is the RTM.

Considering it's an even number, a huge build jump, and the first set of builds that has a .xxxxxx after the build number, it's very likely that 7600 is RTM.

Nobody does care what the number actually is. All people care about now is what build number is the final - but nobody knows for sure right now.

So in this case, the reason people care is because they want to know if they have a pre-RTM or the real RTM. But everyone will just have to wait to find out.

RTM Build has been locked (NOT signed off) from Saturday. That means that RTM will indeed be 7600 recompiled (for example 7600.16386).

Does it really matter if it's really RTM or not? Treat it as you would any other build, just one more giant leap towards the public release.
