[Official] Batman: Arkham Asylum

Uh that's a load of nonsense, you do not need to fork out hundreds every couple of months to play new games on a PC at high resolution/settings.

I've not changed my processor in 2 years, my graphics card was replaced 2 months ago (old card was a 7600GT, years old), and my memory is like 9 or 10 months old.

E6600 @ 3.4ghz

9800GTX+

4GB 1066

You ain't going to be doing 1900x1200 16xAA Extreme Textures unless you keep up relatively well with the hardware trend but it doesn't take a lot to make a PC game look better than a console game, mid settings/resolution with minor AA and you're probably better looking already.

Don?t get me wrong AB, I?m too using E6600 but it?s the graphic card that I was talking about, I still have dual 7600gt (stop laughing).

If you look closely graphic card are coming out less then a year between each other and price any where between $150.00 to $500.00 each. I just don't have enough cash lying around for that and to buy the game, it just common sense to just rent the game on console and live with the "low res" then the PC counter part.

Can't get enough of this demo, it's such a cool game. Just having fun playing with the guards in the last section of the demo is so cool, the way you can toy with them and they get spooked by leaking gas pipes.

Can't wait for the final game (Y) I wonder what the PS3 exclusive Joker missions will be like..

yea the end stage of the demo is very fun

It does make you feel 'overpowered' though, but I guess for once in the light of fun we shouldn't pursue this "OMG EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE INSANELY HARD, I HAVE TO RETRY 40 TIMES OR I DONT GET MONEYS WORTH" attitude.

Batman is a bad ass, he's not the generic nameless "wake up and forget how to swing a pole so need to level up every stat" game hero.

I do hope it gets a little more challenging though, even if it's more puzzle challenges.

I'm actually thinking about cancelling my preorder and getting the 360 version instead. Did some reading up and the Joker is only available in Challenge rooms. There's no alternative storyline or missions for him.

There's no reason why he won't be available on other platforms later, seeing as none of the devs/publishers are in Sony's control. Unless of course they paid off SE. Even if he's not though, it's not gonna be a huge loss. I'd most likely play the SP and never touch it again.

Cancel it and pay more, why would you do that? Or cancel it and "pay" for it

you still said you said "you have to pay hundreds of dollars every few months". You may have worded that very poorly.

I have had this 9600gt for a year (and it wasn't even very expensive when I got it) and still play games maxed out and won't need to upgrade for at least another year. There is never any need to upgrade every few months, even every 6 months is completely ridiculous.

I've never paid above ~$160 for a video card too.

The trailer at the end of the demo shows off some of the unique and puzzling features of the full game. I think the name Metal Gear: Batman will be an accurate description for this game. GOTY candidate anyone?

If you're a fan of comics/Batman, probably definitely, it looks like it'll be the best Batman game yet, and in general hold up as a very good game for everyone.

Dunno if it'll be the candidate for me, might be actually, but I think Uncharted 2 will be my 3rd person action/adventure title this year if it lives up to the hype.

Either way I'm really looking forward to playing this :D

Just got done playing the demo. Overall pretty fun but I'm worried about detective mode. I know the demo just wanted you to experience it but I felt like I was having to use it the whole time instead of just being able to experience the game. We'll see how the game turns out.

Modding has already started on the PC version

Now, I know it could be improved. I need to make the gloves darker and the cape blacker, because currently it's still a bit blue. I'm trying to find the texture for it but no luck so far. This next picture shows the blue cape better.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
