[Official] Batman: Arkham Asylum

yeah poison ivy is frustrating. just keep running back and forth while throwing batarangs. they still hurt her when the plant is closed.

I forgot about this . Gonna try it too.

For those that have beaten the game there are 3 different endings, but I think they are all random. You can find them on Youtube. I got the croc one which I think is by far the scariest one.

Awesome game, I'm trying to get all the riddles done. I hope we can get some DLC costumes in the future. They should have added some in to unlock throughout the game from the start like Spiderman on the Playstation.

I got the Bane one. But it's nothing really spectacular.. lol.

Finally done all of the riddler's challenges! and got the world's greatest detective achievement! one set of teeth..up the top of the pump control room..grrr :D

Some of those Challenges were really a pain. lol.

it's a good game, especially if you enjoy comics. there's a lot of texture to it, tons of details and extra stuff to find out. you'll be a Batman afficionado by the time you finish this. in terms of gameplay it's also good, and the writing and voice acting are superb. i must admit the third Scarecrow sequence was one of the most memorable "wow" moments on gaming record. plus, i'll be saying "and at the edge of fear, AH-blivion" for years to come...

in short, get it, i'd rate it a good 8/10.

Mini review coz I just finished the scenario 10 minutes ago) :

- Excellent game.

- Minor flaws here and there

- Excellent graphics

- Excellent use of all the batman's gadgets.

- A lot of "ZOMG! moments"

- Scenario a bit short

- Excellent game !!!!11&!!! (ok , I said it twice :) )

- A lot of background infos ( find all the tapes, it's really worth it )

- Top notch voice acting ( all the original english cast is here : Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Ron Perlman ... )

- Worth buying without a doubt !!

the poison ivy boss fight reminds me of the mother hive fight from prototype...i.e tedious and boring, not to mention hard. why they had to put this in an otherwise very intelligent and smooth game is unclear to me. could have made it more interesting, at least.

Mother Hive was ridiculous though. Doesn't compare to the Ivy fight.

yeah in the end it wasn't as tough, and the joker fight was a touch more fun. not really a fan of prolonged, overly-big boss sequences, they're not fun to me because they break the flow of the game. but forgiven in light of the scarecrow parts, textbook example of how to do a boss guardian.

I'm pretty much at the joker fight I think...I'm currently at the part where you fight his two big venom powered beast guys along with an army of regular goons.

It's an excellent game, it's just I regret playing on Normal difficulty as Easy would've been a breeze to finish :p

How PhysX Makes Batman: Arkham Asylum Better

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcWJLLwyAxQ.swf

Now that many of us have experienced Batman: Arkham Asylum on the console, let?s see if it was worth delaying the PC version to add support for NVIDIA?s PhysX technology.

The verdict? While it certainly doesn?t seem to effect the gameplay, little touches like the flowing of his cape, the swirling of debris, and the way those banners flutter when you toss a batarang through them should help make the experience just a bit more immersive. Is it worth a three week delay? I?ve a feeling that once PC gamers have the game in their hands the delay will be completely forgotten.

The paper on the ground looks cool as!

This game seems like the game you would play on PC with a controller f:p sure :p

I finished it this past weekend. I liked it. The Joker fight wasn't as satisfying as some of the other boss battles. I think I played the "Running from the Croc level 20 times before I finally got past that. I love moving from Gargoyle to Gargoyle and invertedly taking down baddies from them. Anyone figure out that you could use your batclaw to pull baddies down into the abyss? (in the corridor where you use your vertical bat-gadget to cross the abyss, after I believe you leave Ivy's lair and they are waiting for you out there?)

I did notice that some bad guys were left out (Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Riddler, Catwoman, etc). Maybe they'll show up in the sequel? The Scarecrow scenes were interesting, but I thought they could have left them out. I didn't care for those types of levels in Max Payne.

All in all, I was impressed.

I just finished it again in hard, but I didn't get the different ending. I got the same Joker ending, still good though. :D I just need about 100 more riddles to do and then I am done with those. :D

How the hell do people get 35 seconds on the silent takedown challenge?

damn.. I thought the console versions have physx. Don't they?

I got another question.

How do you take down the titan infected guys without a baterang? It is a trophy. :p

What I did was once they're close to the wall I tried hit & run tactic. Also I concentrated on one rather then both of them, after one of them is dead the use baterang on the other.

Also hunker down if you’re trying it on hard, it may take a while.

I am stuck.

After escaping the sewers and going back to the Batcave, I am now trying to get back into the Botanical Garden. I am outside with those three pillars. I found the Riddler's "?" but I can't figure out for the life of me what to do on the 3rd pillar to get back up. What am I missing?

Nevermind....I was blind (as a bat). :p
