Went to the Toronto Zoo today, and managed to snap some cool pics. I'm going to upload them all to Flickr tomorrow, after I recover from the insane heat, but here is a sample to make do in the meantime. Not a crop.

Reminds me of my mother in-law

@houlty - quality wed photos. The one in front of the window is great. You use flash for the indoors and car shot?

thanks, just the onboard flash. to be honest, i used my cheapest lens (nikkor 18-200mm) and didnt take my sb600 flash because there was a good chance it would get knocked and banged as the day went on, what with all the festivities and alcohol consumption...

also, love the ir effect, it gives a nice twist to the regular approach.

Pretty good images from the onboard flash I must say. I'm guessing you were shooting "P" then? Usually the best way to use the onbaord for me anyway. I took a number of images of my mates wedding in July with a SB800 for the indoor shots (+1EV with omnibounce diffuser blasted off of the roof or whatever surface would suffice) looks no bad but dont get in the way of the flash - BLIND! Theyre on my flickr if your at all interested.

Cheers for the comment on the IR stuff - I am just really learning the best way to shoot in IR, just wish this crap weather would move on so I can get out in the sunshine and get some more shots in - I'm wanting to photo the forth rail bridge in IR just to see the effect - other red coloured objects I have photod in IR recently have almost dissapeared - how interesting it would be to see only the white scaffolding floating in the sky where the bridge once was lol.

Ferguson Farmstead Beta 1

Check out the full size super high detailed house on flickr. It's 4565 x 4459.

I still need to add to the right to make this into a landscape shot.

The house itself is made out of of around 9 images, so be sure to check out the original size :) Each of the 9 images is made up of 7 layered bracketed images, so the house alone is 63 photos.

The pictures I took of the right hand side of the image didn't turn out. I'm going to find a way to blend in a different field on the right, if possible.I think the grass is a bit too green, and I'm going to try and make the image wider, since it's almost a square right now. Also, there's some minor distortions and badly blended images around the house that I'm going to tweak.

Not to be rude, because this isn't personal and I'm not in general a fan of heavy image processing or in tonemapping, but isn't 63 photos a bit excessive? I can't really see anything that couldn't have been achieved with just the one photo and a bit of judicious photoshop. It's a nice composition nonetheless :)

HDR max is 5 images. Anything over that is overkill. I can usually get the same image out of 3 bracketed images as 5. So this should really have only been 21 images ;)

Haha sorry I should clarify, because of the differences of lighting in the scene I took that many to give me options for exposure. I was then able to pick 3 or at max 5 for each image to achieve the desired effect for that section. Your right, anything over that is stupid. It's still WIP so I need to refine it. One of the reasons 1 photo wouldn't have sufficed is that I wanted to have a high resolution house, and my camera is only 8mp. I did the house, grass and sky individually in processing so I could get the vibrant sky, and have the other parts of the scene properly exposed. So its a bunch of images tonemapped into tiff files which are then made into 3 seperate panorama pieces that get blended in photoshop. It's probably overkill but it's helped me learn a bunch about all 3 programs.

I just got my camera so I am just getting used to it.

I like that. You say you just got your camera - were you shooting on P or are you braving it up to M? No shame in P, I use it every now and again (especially for from the hip shots of people who don't know I;m shooting them lol)

Anyway, couple more IR but converted to B&W - wasnt digging the flase colour on these ones.

    • Nice, hope they *finally* fixed the issue with the NTFS driver where the system would completely brick during large file copies using the built in driver. It's been broken for years requiring me to use the older, slower, NTFS-3G FUSE driver.
    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues. • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
