Iv looked in my Windows > System folder and I cant find a "shellstyle.dll" file anywhere :(

Am I looking in the right place?

Tom

The "Shell" folder is where shellstyle.dll resides, there's one for each color scheme. You don't need to do anything with it just leave it in the folder with the visual style. :) Shellstyles skin the left part of the window, the "Common Tasks" pane as seen in the attached pic. They also control colors and fonts for explorer and some other areas. I hope that answers your question. :)

denied: You can get samurize at samurize.com. ;)

Thanks guys.

Sorry Razor, I misunderstood what you were asking. Been awhile since I looked in the goodies folder so I assumed that there were actual shell32.dll replacements in there, as opposed to the shellstyle.dll files found with the visual style itself (didn't realize they were even in the goodies folder). Anyhow sorry for the confusion and glad that giga could clear it up.

Any chance on getting a mirror for the file? I can't seem to download it from the link in the first post.

Damn edit timeout... Anyhow, not sure why the link wouldn't be working for you. I just check it where I'm at and had someone else see if they could get it to work, both times it did (not saying it's truly not for you). Can't since I'm at work, but someone might be able to send it to you via some other method.

for those who care, this is what I was thinking. I did this in all of 2 min, so yea it sucks, but its a general idea

Unfortunately, it's impossible to do the taskbar you show. You can't do that kinda precision and do different parts different colors.

darn, I wasn't sure or not, I don't do styles. if it could be done and he didn't want to do it, I was going to try to do it on my own, just change the QL area. oh well.

,May 22 2003, 17:52]I dont think that you are going to stop moding, you are just like me, you love to do mods

I think he means people posting screenshots of their mods, which by the way I've asked people not to do.

Razor: You can get the Sun wallpaper here.

raekwon: Saint Dark posted the last update of c10k (the one in this thread ) on deviantart and he named it "Classix 10k 2", it's identical to the one I posted but without the "Extras" folder.

iCe|: I'm using Bluecurve shell32 that I got from Rivak's site. I replaced most of the icons though with Gnome and BeOS icons.

I plan on doing one more color scheme and beige taskbars then I'll release an update. It'll be done soon. I've also modified the samurize configs I made to match better with 2.0, I'll throw those in too.

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
