$15 for the new maps on 360. Mehhh

Seconded. I'm happy to see that they're bringing back Crash from CoD4, as that was my favourite map from the game, but unless I was playing MW2 fanatically, I wouldn't pay 1200 MS points for five maps, two of which aren't even new.

I already had no plans of putting this game back in my system, but this just seals the deal.

Don't see why everybody is so up in arms. Bungie charges $10 for 3 maps but no complaints there? 5 maps for $3 a pop isn't bad even if they are pulling two old maps. Either way I got free MS points I'll be spending on it so I guess I shouldn't be posting a retort. :p

Considering the game cost more than most other new releases when it came out they are now gouging you for maps?

Its not like they had a lot of work to do considering they just ported 2 of the maps from CoD4, this is exactly why they went the IWNet route, you cant use any maps apart from the ones IW/Activision can sell you.

The only problem i have is; Overgrown. EVERYONE used to snip on that map, The only map people snipped on. Everyone snips on MW2 anyway... So yeah... Fail.

So you're implying that everyone snipes on every map in MW2? Sure, people snipe... but not everyone. Having played CoD4 on the X360 and PC, I can say that I didn't run into too many snipers on overgrown. Most people used assault rifles on that map. The ones that did snipe would get sneaked up on.

I don't find Sniping a problem.. I find camping is a problem.. every one camps waaay too much. Recently I went to a map (forgot which one it was) and everyone (including my own team) was hibernating.

Ok, i get the idea... it's snipe!!!! :p

Been playing CoD4 again today and wow... Knifing is so much harder... Actually... Everything is, 20-13 K/D and only 324 points match bonus compared to say, 2000-3000 MW2 match bonus.

Discovered a new love for Hardcore: HQ pro. I tend to hang back watching the HQ with a .50 thermal with Scavenger, cold blooded and ninja... 22-3 is my best so far...

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyone having issues getting matchmaking still? Supposedly it's fixed but it's taking me 10+minutes to get a lobby now. My internet's not bad by any means 5gb/756kb, 0% packet loss, and my ping to servers across the US are just fine.

Lots of sniping on MW2? WHA??!?! MW2 is mostly run and gun with SMGs and Assault Rifles. You must be thinking of Bad Company 2?

LMAO BEST "Comic" Ever! I saved it.

Funny thing is, people are NOW learning not to RECON. Ive found 4 good servers that still stay bold in my favorites and history and work great that have GOOD RANDOMS, well now they are regulars but yeah. Other then that a lot of people like to recon for no apparent reason. Especially on Valdez.

there's alot of talk about the maps being overpriced, but compared to the usual 3 maps for 800mspoints, 1200 for 5 is pretty fair. And there was never much moaning about those prices. probably just the MW2 hate. Although I think 200mspoints a map should be the max, though they do charge 250 for a theme....

I'll probably get these when the price drops.

Robert Bowling Explains Why the MW2 Map Pack is a good value

Oh Robert. If you have to explain why it's a good value, it's probably not a good value.

Smartass comments aside, I kinda see his point. Mainly (emphasis mine):

Anybody who buys them and then plays Modern Warfare 2 hardcore online is going to get their money?s worth out of these maps.

I think you really have to be a hardcore MW2 player (hardcore in the sense that you play often, not hardcore the game mode) in order to get your money's worth from these. Back when I was playing, I was only putting in about three hours a week, so something like this would not have given me my money's worth. My friend's brother was going for three hours a day, so he would have definitely sunk quite a few hours into each of these maps. It all comes down to the individual, I guess.

The new maps are are pretty fun surprisingly enough. I was a bit put off initially because my first new map was Bailout. I just hate that map. Just like the map transition from Halo 2 to Halo 3 and from the original MW to MW2, the map is HUGE and slows down the gameplay quite a bit. Salvage is a ton of fun and reminds me of fun small MW maps. The rain type map is a decent mix of indoor/outdoor action, takes a bit of getting used to because it seems quite big at first. Crash is as fun as usual. Overgrown seems a lot easier to handle in terms of managing a Domination game which is a nice change of pace.

So apparently the Stimulus Package was downloaded 2.5 million times in one week: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/07/modern-warfare-2-stimulus-package-sells-over-2-5m-units-in-a-w/

Looks like we'd better learn to love our new $15 map packs.

The backup and restore feature of Hasleo Backup Suite can help you back up and restore the Windows operating systems, disks, partitions and files (folders) to protect the security of your Windows operating system and personal data. The cloning feature of Hasleo Backup Suite can help you migrate Windows to another disk, or easily upgrade a disk to an SSD or a larger capacity disk. System Backup & Restore / Disk/Partition Backup & Restore Backup Windows operating system and boot-related partitions, including user settings, drivers and applications installed in these partitions, which ensures that you can quickly restore your Windows operating system once it crashes. Viruses, power failure, or other unknown reasons may cause data loss, so it is a good habit to regularly back up the drive that stores important files, you can at least recover lost files from the backup image files in the event of a disaster. System Clone / Disk Clone / Partition Clone Migrate the Windows operating system from one disk to another SSD or larger disk without reinstalling Windows, applications and drivers. Clone entire disk to another disk and ensure that the contents of the source disk and the destination disk are exactly the same. Clone a partition completely to the specified location on the current disk or another disk and ensure that the data will not be changed. File Backup & Restore Back up specified files(folders) instead of the entire drive to another location to protect your data, so you can quickly restore files(folders) from the backup image files when needed. Incremental/Differential/Full Backup Different backup modes are supported, you can flexibly choose data protection schemes, which can improve backup performance and save storage space while ensuring data security. Delta Restore Delta restore uses advanced delta detection technology to check the changed blocks on the destination drive and restore only the changed blocks, so it has a faster restore speed than the traditional full restore. Universal Restore This feature can help us restore the Windows operating system to computers with different hardware and ensure that Windows can work normally without any hardware compatibility issues. Hasleo Backup Suite 5.8.2.2 changelog: Improved creation of bootable media that supports the UEFI CA 2023 certificate Fixed an issue that caused system restore to fail Fixed an issue where file backup could not list drives under Windows ARM64 Fixed an issue that caused backup of MacOS files/folders shared via Samba to fail Fixed an issue that caused "Smart Backup" to not work properly Fixed other minor bugs Download: Hasleo Backup Suite 5.8.2.2 | 39.7 MB (Freeware) Links: Hasleo Backup Suite Website | Hasleo Backup Suite Guide | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware

    • I looked into a few echo devices to find they were riddled with adverts over time. No thanks ill stick to my homeassistant, smart plugs, smart bulbs and cameras that don't cost me a monthly fee and are cheaper to buy. No adverts also.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.180 is out.
    • Putin or Farage had nothing to do with me voting out. I did so because I got fed up of the E.U telling us what we could and could not do. Fed up with our country being run by a load of unelected Europrats. We never joined the E.U in the first place.
