[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I have and am currently playing it and I've never experienced a single FPS problem in the game.

And no, it couldn't have easily done it at 720p native, you know why? Because it's running 600p - Means one of the consoles or both struggled at some point and they had to lower it.

As AB mentioned, the game isn't 60 FPS locked, it's a variable FPS and I can bet you the reason it's running 600p, because at 720p one or both consoles saw some unacceptable dips

and they had to compromise

Okay fair enough, I just always keep thinking that the game doesn't look amazing and could've done 720p with further development but not to worry but yeah I do get FPS dips every once in a while, quite noticable! Games like GTA4 and GOW3 don't run 720p native either so I guess it is just a common thing this generation. Let's hope we don't have this occurance with the next lot of consoles!

AWBrian, you're the first person I've seen who says that MW2 matches GOW2 and KZ2.

Hey, it's just my opinion. I am not claiming it's fact. I have been known to be way out there :)

God of War?

It definitely is 720p native.

GTA4 was 720p native on the 360, 640p on the PS3.

Well if you don't like how a game does something then don't buy it! If you buy it then developers and publishers won't change anything.

Why are you having a go at me? I'm still allowed to have an opinion.

I still enjoy the game, just wish that wasn't how it was and I am sure some others thought the same. Some people have said it is quite fuzy on the PC because of this 600p aspect.

Just hope they can achieve 720p native in MW3.

AWBrian, yeah fair enough, you're entitled to that, I just never would've considered MW2 to be way up there!

Yeah, that's why I can't wait for the next generation of consoles. Way too many sub-HD games running at 30 FPS, the consoles this generation are extremely underpowered

and the developers are cutting corners here and there just to have the games running somewhat respectably. Can't wait for 720p and 60 ( or at least, 40 ) FPS to be the minimum

requirement - It's not too much to ask and it would definitely give a lot of games a boost in gameplay experience, with higher FPS that is.

And one thing, what does console resolution have to do with PC resolution and textures? ( Just remember someone mentioning it, when you did just now .KICK ).

Engines don't work like that, the game isn't upscaled from 600p on the PC, it's running whatever native resolution and the game does look very sharp and crisp

on the PC. Problem is, the textures themselves can be very muddy as they were designed to be small in size ( megabytes wise ) and fast loading, thus when you bump

up the resolution on the PC, the textures won't follow. But on the overall, resolution on the console has nothing to do with the PC resolution - It will always be native.

The PC version of MW2 looks very sharp but the problem definitely lies in the textures and the lack of complex geometry which is a side-effect of being a port.

Any resolution fuzziness is a hardware problem at your end.

Oh and .KICK, bet you anything they will use the same engine for the Trayarch Spin-off, MW3 and the unknown-developer spin-off, of course "One iteration on" as the MW2 engine was.

I was going by what a bunch of people said after trying MW2 for free on Steam this weekend including DirtyLarry then someone mentioned it was because of the 600p or something like that. Maybe they were wrong? I don't know, I have to admit I have not played MW2 on PC due to not having a good enough PC to run it unfortunately so I just stick to gaming on the 360 for now.

Of course, there will be many spin offs, they will just try to cut costs by reusing the engine they already have to maximise profits which is a shame.

Why are you having a go at me? I'm still allowed to have an opinion.

Not having a go at you personally but just that if you want them to bother fixing the resolution then you should tell them on your wallet - no on is reading these forums. Having said that, I realise it's too late now so I wouldn't expect much except a quick cash cow for MW3.

Lawl, did you even see the sales numbers for the game? You'd have to gather an impossible amount of people and tell them not to buy the game, for it to make an impact

and let's face it, won't happen. When a game reaches soaring sales-numbers it's easier to just voice your opinion on various forums, better chance of somebody noticing or caring.

Voting with your wallet is a phrase used for a large segment of consumers, you can't tell that to individuals.

Lame, just tried to join four games in a row. First two were at the end of the game and I ended up on the losing team, didn't even get to the choose class menu, games were over. Then one game dropped out right away and then the 4th game dropped and I had to wait like 5 minutes for it to pick on the fact that the game dropped. And four losses counted for each, they need to fix that.

They won't. That BS has been like that since the release of the ill fated POS.

I just found out the map pack cost $15 for PC owners as well, what a load of horse manure laugh.gif

100% fact, the only reason they removed dedicated servers.

Up until yesterday you could have pre ordered it on Steam and saved yourself a whole dollar. Yeah, you read that right..you can save a dollar. On something that should be free.

    • Brave Browser 1.91.178 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. • Yeah, I signed out of everything when I changed the password to my account. I keep checking device history and there's never anything new other than my own activity.
    • Microsoft are already committed to making patches for Win10 due to the IoT edition, so they may as well continue to sell access as they were doing the work anyway
    • Oh goodie! We can look forward to more videos of people with these huge bombs catching on fire, exploding etc. There is a reason why most countries restrict the size of LiOn batteries, especially in air travel.
