Health care workers refuse to take H1N1 vaccine

Recommended Posts

I know 5 people who go their vaccines from different sources and 4 have had stomach cramps and diarrhea within days of getting the vaccine. That 5th person said he felt weak for the first 76 hours after the shot.

So far this year I just got the standard one and have been hesitant about getting the H1N1 vaccine so I can see why they are choosing / refusing not to get it.

My mom works in health care and refuses to get the vaccine aswell. It turned out most of her collegues who did get the vaccine got a lot sicker from the vaccine than you would actually get from the swine flu.

Funny. None of the people I know who've had Pandemrix have had any noteworthy reaction to it. Certainly nothing like a full-on flu that could even kill you if you're unlucky. Not that these anecdotes mean much.

Wanna end up like this?

...If you do, go ahead take the H1N1 flu shot and take a chance.

Liar. First of all, she took a seasonal flu shot, not the swine flu. Second, it was psychogenic dystonia (in other words mental and not a physical ailment). Third, she's already been cured (something that wouldn't be possible with actual dystonia, which is incurable) by a quack doctor who likes to inject urine into people and scam cancer patients. In other words. No connection whatsoever.

Hyperbaric oxygen? Pfft. Give me a break!

A few high profile H1N1 deaths of children without pre-existing conditions has seriously changed attitudes in Canada. We went from 40% of the population having the intent to get the vaccine to 80% of the population with the intent to take the vaccine within a few days.

And why I'm I a liar exactly? I am not lying about anything. I didn't say the H1N1 vaccine will cause this, I said there was a chance something like that could happen, not that it would happen. You obviously don't know anything about medicine and much less viruses. Let me tell you something about viruses kid:

They have the absolute power to change a human body in ways you can't even dream of. One single virus cell can kill you in a matter of hours. Example of that:

The Ebola virus. 100% deadly.

Different people have different reactions to vaccines. I had the seasonal flu vaccine and I had 0% side effects. My girlfriend had the shot the same day I did and she got sick the next day and was in bed with flu-like symptoms for 4 days. We both were perfectly healthy when we took the shot. Every year the same thing happens to her. She gets the shot and she gets sick for a few days so educate yourself a bit more on medicine and viruses and what they do to us humans before you open your mouth and start calling people liars.

You know, needles? Not everyone likes when nurse hits you like mad mosquito - it all depends on first experiences with shots lol

Anyway, i think that we all should think by own and try to keep clear mind - dont get terrorised by media and governments; a touch of hygiene, soap, tissues, good diet, avoiding staying with persons who appear to be sick imo help you more than vaccine.

There is a lot of BS in medicine, party due to advertising. Like Atherosclerosis, it happen's in everyones body, but Crestor uses it like it's a serious evil. It's just the process that build's cholesterol. Cholesterol is the problem, not the process that creates it.

It's all in the marketing.

Either way, I'm 26 and haven't has a shot since Middle school. I'm also one of the least sick people at work.

If you're going to sanitize and protect against all types of bacteria and germs, how is your immune system supposed to function correct?

Ebola virus is not 100% deadly despite what the movies may have taught you. Up to half of the people infected with Ebola recover.

Yes, if all you are concerned with is your own personal health and welfare then, yes, that is true for almost everyone without an underlying medical condition. Many people get the vaccine to protect others around them (family, friends, children, elders) who may not be as fortunate as yourself.

People are infectious for about a day before they show any symptoms so you can't judge if people look safe or look sick. The simple fact remains that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the drawbacks.

Well obviously you didn't read that page. It talks about mortality rates.

The mortality rate is 50-50. If you get treated early enough you might make it. It all depends on how hard it hits you and how strong your immune system is.

I was the one who said that up to half of the people recover. You said:

Obviously that is not true. It isn't 100% deadly.

Mortality rates are typically high, with the human case-fatality rate ranging from 50?89%,
So yes, it isn't 100% deadly.

It's not a side effect.

A vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to a particular disease. A vaccine typically contains a small amount of an agent that resembles a microorganism. The agent stimulates the body's immune system to recognize the agent as foreign, destroy it, and "remember" it, so that the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these microorganisms that it later encounters.

It's the same reason when you take an anti tetanus shot, you get a fever the next day.

The influenza vaccine can't give you the flu, it's a dead virus. You could have an allergic reaction to it, but not get the flu. Your body makes antibodies to the virus in the vaccine. If you contact that virus, you won't get sick. It takes about 4 weeks for it to be effective. Hand washing and using sanitizers is the best defense. If you touch anything that someone else touched that was contaminated, you got it. Viruses can live 2 days on solid surfaces and up to 2 weeks on porous surfaces like paper and money. That's scary if you think about all the things you touch during the day. If your hands go to your eyes, nose or mouth, gotcha. It's pretty hard to avoid it when it's around. I'm an RN and do my best to avoid the bugs but they usually get me anyway. The only foolproof plan is complete isolation and that isn't possible, couldn't even get your mail.

And why I'm I a liar exactly? I am not lying about anything. I didn't say the H1N1 vaccine will cause this, I said there was a chance something like that could happen

Nonsense. Your post implied that there is a very real risk we could end up like that by taking the swine flu vaccine.

Which there isn't. Why are you fear-mongering and spreading lies?

And what does Ebola (which doesn't even exist here) have to do with the flu?

The only issue is that you might see problems in a couple of years, not right away.

What potential issue will take a couple of years to manifest? The mercury (thermisol) will be gone from your system in 18 days if you abstain from eating fish during that period.

    • Less powerful than a PS5 at twice the price! I wonder if they use that for marketing? Totally DoA.
