Halo Reach Thread

So been watching the PAX panel videos on & off through the afternoon.

They've confirmed DLC for the game without actually confirming it (from the Q&A section of video 4). I wonder what it'll be & how much of it is lined up.

It'd be awesome if they added some SP DLC for a change as another short bridge between Reach & 1. Possibly a tease at Master Chief in his younger days :woot:

Master Chief Between Reach and Halo 1?

So the like two weeks he spends in cryo, would be awesome. :p

Just got my dispatch email from HMV (came with 800 ms points as well as the armour) in the UK! :D Standard 2-5 delivery though, so shouldn't think it will get here early, but a man can dream dammit!

Edit:

Possible lies, the email says "Your order?s in the post and should be with you soon", but the site says "Complete, will be despatched in accordance with selected shipping option", so perhaps even less chance of an early arrival.

"Completely shipped"!

Playing the previous games gives a good amount of context as to why a Halo game is the way it is. The community is split among those who played from day 1 to those who came in on later titles and they all have different views on what Halo is. Still, no game is perfect.

Yeah, after finding out properly what was going on in the previous games and stuff, it's made this game a little better.

Completed it today too, maybe a little on the short side but if you're going for the harder difficulties then it will take a few days.

End was pretty good, I thought it might drag on and on when she started talking at the end but thankfully it didn't. I was hoping for a survive objective at the end too, although I really didn't last long.

Game Informer review is in ladies and gentleman:

Any disappointment series fans felt after ODST should be completely washed away thanks to Reach. Make no mistake about it - this is the true follow-up to Halo 3. It's also a perfect way for Bungie to part with the series it turned into a phenomenon. [Oct 2010, p.92]

Ars Technica posted some pictures of the Legendary Edition: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/09/the-halo-reach-legendary-edition-is-here-in-photos.ars

It is definitely big. No doubt about that. I honestly don't know where I'm going to put that statue. I may have to build or buy some sort of pedestal for it, which sounds a lot more nerdy now that I've said it out loud :).

Still waiting for Future Shop to dispatch my order.

The detail is ok ... I'd say they could have done a better job for the money. If you guys look at NECA figures.. those things are incredibly detailed. But articulation wise it's not that great. So I'm glad that I'll be happy just with the Limited Edition .:). Also, looks like Macfarlane is releasing Reach Figures aswell. So I can probably get Noble Team together by collecting the figures.

Not bad really reach1_emile_photo_02_dp.jpg all that with Articulation = Win :).

I would rather have one piece than gathering all pieces separately, I had few GoW figures and now I only have Marcus left without a gun or pistol.

That one piece.. you can't pose or anything.. it's a statue. lol. But maybe that's what you like about it? I never liked statues.. I always like my characters to be in some sort of pose that I can change anytime I want.

MS does, bungie just makes it. (In simple wording).

Razorwing, I am not into these action figures, this just came with something that I bought (I forgot what though). This Halo Reach LE is the 2nd thing I bought first being the helmet, and probably the last one I will ever buy.

Am I the only person that installs every game I play?

And I actually rent a lot of games, but all I do is delete the install once I send it back. I literally install every game.

So although I am not a hardcore Halo fan, I always have enjoyed the series, so I did break down and preorder it on Amazon, as they had the deal they usually do with big releases were you get $20 in credit for the video games department which I will just put towards Black Ops so I get that for $40, and then BO actually comes with the $20 video game credit as well, so a pretty good deal as I will get $40 in credit for 2 games. I also have Amazon Prime so I will get release day delivery for free.

Only thing is I probably will not realistically get to even touch it until early next month, I leave for Span for work this upcoming Thursday, will be gone for 8 days, then also just have to work a whole lot of OT at work, so really will not have much time to touch the game until early next month. So the one aspect I was looking forward to, the 4 player CoOp, unfortunately I may not get to experience because by the time I get to play it, I am sure everyone will be bored of it already on just playing MP.

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?

    • Never used the G7 Pro, but I've never had a good experience with that style of d-pad and fighting games.
    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂
