I have been banned three times, these bans are only short but I still think It is stupid. Some people have lives and have to go out to do things, then come back and find they have been penalized for not playing the entire match. Maybe after nearly living in their big office 24/7 they have lost touch with the rest of humanity and have forgot people still need to live their lives, hail medal of honor.

Maybe you shouldn't play if you've got something you've got to do. Its not hard to plan playing videogames around your life.

What does having a life have to do with a 10 minute match? If you quit out three times (in a row, yes?) to get banned then that has nothing to do with your life and going out and doing things. lol.

I quit out of games because of rage. I have no shame in admitting it. Has nothing to do with "life" interrupting a quick match. I usually just idle in a game if I have to do something. Bungie will kick you [eventually] for inactivity just like COD4/MW2 kick you for inactivity (if you're still in class menu after match starts.)

If you aren't able to work in play time for a game then.. you do realize you should just not play it right? The bans are short enough that if the 15 minute ban effects playing time then.. yeaaaaaah.

Remind me never to play with you online.

Yeah because my saying I rage quit or idle in games means I do it 24/7.

Must be why I've got almost 1k hours for MW2 played (or a 1300+ win streak that's 100% legit) and over 4k hours for just Halo 3 alone. ;)

It's k, I wouldn't play with you anyway!

Doing it at all means you have issues, so no loss on my end laugh.gif

You aren't a passionate gamer until you ragequit

I do that occasionally, get so frustrated I turn off the console to prevent a nuclear explosion. ( In competitive games )

I've rage quit a SP game of Civ4 after things going ###### up after HOURS, but online play of games that tend to last 10-15 minutes a round, that's just lame and sad, especially if you're getting suspended doing it :p

You are not quite seeing my point. I have to go to work in the morning so I sometimes have to quit out, if the dinner is done I have to quit out of a game to prepare it for serving, I go to bed at night so I would have to quit out of the game because I am not going to stay up for the sake of a game. These are just some prime examples. I do not see why you have to get defensive over a computer game as that is a little worrying. However rage, I do not see the point of it, maybe I am not the a raging person like yourself, I will stay in the game even if I am getting killed a lot [which rarely happens], it is a game there is no need to stress right, there are to many troubles within life, so to get worked up about a video game is pretty silly. I understand the bans are short but even though nowadays I do not get that much playability out of games like yourself, so when I do come on for that short amount of time and see I have been banned for 15 minutes to half an hour it can be frustrating because It cuts my playing time because I have work to do and things to sort out around my home [like to have some pride in the space I live in]. I hope this paragraph explains my opinion better for you to understand.

Arron.

LOL so you rage quit out of a SINGLEPLAYER game? Man, that's just lame and sad. :p

You only get banned for quiting three consecutive games, which means you shouldn't have been playing in the first place if you had to quit three times in a row.

Like you said: it's a computer game. If you do not have the time to finish it because you need to leave for work: then don't join a match if you don't have time. If you know what time you prefer to go to sleep then don't play a match that will surpass the time you want to stay up until. It's not like every match is an unlimited time. There are allotted amounts of time for matches. Some end quicker and others will go until clock runs out.

Prioritize your time better! If you can set aside 30 minutes of your time to play that gives you at minimum 2 matches of Team Slayer. So let's say each match finishes in ~8 minutes. That's 16 of your 30 minutes of playing time. You've got 14 minutes left so you can fit in ONE more match. Why try to fit two games into 14 minutes when you know you might have to quit out?

If you know you have 5 minutes until your pot roast has to come out of the oven, then don't get on to play knowing you're going to quit out to take that roast out. Or if you go to sleep at 9PM and it's already 8:51PM? Don't get on to play.

Then you won't have to worry about losing 15 (or more) minutes because of Bungie's "timeouts" for quitting.

But why you star?oh I have to go to work,

bye!

What about "that special time of month quit"?

sorry had to...

*Goes off to his corner*

If I could get my bf to answer that for you, he'd tell you that the "special time of the month" is 24/7/365. Or that I use that as my excuse all the time when I get snippy, hahahah.

For some reason I'm glad I'm not your bf lol :p

First map pack next month, 3 maps for $10. Looks like the same sort of crap maps in Reach. Sigh... was hoping for some quality maps. Even Halo 3 had quality maps!

+1 :/ I really want some close combat smaller maps.

Awesome! I think the maps look great, and I love the maps in Reach....much more than Halo 3 maps.

What gets me is they only bothered to add one invasion map. I really wish they would add more. Its a good gametype that deserves more attention. Either way, 800 points for 3 maps is borderline an Activision move charging 1200 for 4-5 with 2 being remakes. Too pricey for such little content. Going to have to pass until a price reduction or I just may never get them.

And on a worse note, Bungie will probably pull the same stupid ****ing move making certain playlists unplayable unless you buy the map pack. When that happens, no more matchmaking for me.

My thoughts exactly. This is arguably worse than the Stimulus Package for MW2, since you're paying more for each map. Of course, that argument disregards certain factors (the Stimulus Package had two remakes, Noble adds a new Invasion map, etc..).

I think we all knew that this trend wasn't going away when Activision ushered it in. I'll probably purchase the Noble pack, albeit begrudgingly.

    • This looks awesome, I will request access via Steam later this afternoon!
    • Personally, I’ve found that it’s usually worth investing in the infrastructure you don’t want to replace later, especially cabling. Running Cat6A (or better, depending on your needs) during an upgrade is relatively inexpensive compared to having to re-cable a few years down the road. For switches I try to balance current specs with realistic growth. If my budget allows it Ill choose switches with higher uplink speeds which leaves room for expanding later on, but I don’t necessarily overspend on access ports if the endpoints won’t benefit from them anytime soon. One lesson I’ve learned is that planning for scalability pays off. It’s much easier to add devices, VLANs, or higher-bandwidth workloads when your network infrastructure already supports it than to replace hardware later.  What is your budget like?
    • I hate the term, "future-proof." We saw it back in the 90's / 2000's, if not before. You cannot future-proof anything, since there is no definition of how far into the future you plan on prepping for. Best idea is to tell us what you currently have and what its use is at the moment, and we can then offer ideas about some areas that might need an upgrade and other areas that can be left alone.
    • I can agree that it is being used in a small capacity. I worked for a company where their engineers still used XP, and when asked why it was because their sensor software wasn't compatible with newer operating systems and the software was discontinued so they couldn't upgrade the software. Given that the sensors were still in use by companies, they had to continue using XP to support the sensor, otherwise the price to the company would have gone into the millions or billions. Our response was simple: Ok, you can keep the XP machine. But we're removing it from the network. "But then it can't access the Internet or folder shares!" Yup, kinda the point. If someone wants to continue using an unsecure OS they can do, I have no problem with that. But it should be isolated. Simple. I had a fight with a guy in the engineering department for weeks before he finally relented. But we digress.   What do I plan on doing to commemorate the anniversary? Nothing. I have fond memories of the OS, but at the end of the day it's just an OS. If I had some time I might see if I could install it on my Raspberry Pi for a laugh. But my reflex memory with today's OS ideas would probably get me frustrated and I'd uninstall it after 5 mins.
