New videos look nice, hopefully this demo that has been played will be released on PSN in the future. I think Sethos will be happy when he takes a look. Graphically it looks great the engine sounds are awesome too, now if only they could get rid of the awful tyre screeching :(

They actually did get rid of that, wasn't in any of the very first GT5 videos and everyone was happy, no idea why it's back in :/

Hopefully placeholder, when I say get rid of above I mean there was no tire screetching at all lol, so maybe it's just back in placeholder till more complete build. One can hope, it's still as bad as it was in Prologue although it doesn't seem it happens AS much. In prologue it basically even happens if you're going in a straight line...

I mean it's not as if tire screeching in real life is a joy to hear, but I feel your pain :p

Tyre screeching isn't unrealistic per say, it all depends on the car, the setup of the car, tyres used, track condition, weather etc. So some cars will screech while others will glide around like a lubed up soap. Problem was just, every car no matter what seemed to screech which is annoying.

Yeah that was the problem in prologue everything made the same sound basically no matter how you took the corner.

I'm sure it'll be sorted, one of the most complained about things in prologue.

With the changes made so far, my confidence has gone up tenfold so I'm almost sure they will have it fixed by release.

Did you notice my "ps" in that WoW authenticator topic? Probably won't be able to do any more runs till Monday, plans tonight and tomorrow. However you'll have caught up a bit more and we'll be able to do better instances :)

Basically I'll be slowing getting to 60 waiting on/helping you anyway so we can do BC content together. We'll fly though it pala/lock combo.

Tsk, was rushing to 30 and beyond to get a SM Library run for the Staff and now this?! I crai :( Nah it's alright, guess I'll just have to wait (Y)

( Close to 29 as we speak )

I won't be able to fit in anything today for sure, but early tomorrow in morning/early afternoon yeah, but after that GF is coming up for meal and night with me.

Sorry dude Chicks..... = WoW, so I had to flip a coin.... You lost. It was a fair deal.

She might even let me play some WoW you never now. She could do something useful while I kill the elites for you. Like hoover my room or dust, or clean, or....

Both

Nah, it's cool man - Whenever you got time is fine but out next goal is definitely a fast SM Library run or two, for the staff. Have her make a sandwich :shiftyninja:

That's for when I play Devil May Cry 4 on the PS3 only.

Yeah that rods awesome, my mate helped my mage get it. I'll try really hard to fit in a run for you before 5PM UK time, but after that I'm out, but no promises, I'll send you a msg if I got some time. Running around sorting things out with people, finding what to wear, actually shaving for once, then I gotta sort the bus home and my GF needs picked up at 5, which means I need to leave at 4:30pm and our train is at 7pm. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

But if I get a quick 20-30 mins free somewhere I'll go have a wan... play some WoW.

Alright, you are a sweetheart  But if you know beforehand you'll get the time, let me know so I can get up there so we don't have to waste time with that. Getting up to SM takes a bit of time for a lowbie.

Go get flight paths just now bitch.

I think it's alright, in real life - In games, it's like watching an oak tree grow to its full size.

i think you're missing how GT5 is gonna work with 3d glasses... still not the same as real life, but dont assume that it doesnt do anything before you have actually tried it

I think your overestimating 3D by about 2 Million percent. Plus, it wasn't even what we were talking about so you missed that point by about 300 miles, congratulations.

bit unfriendly, dont you think? i guess im not one of your 'friends', thus everything i say is offensive to you

you were talking about the experience of driving for real vs playing videogames, and i took that to mean it was an immersion thing... 3d increases immersion by letting you perceive depth

i already said that its not going to replace driving for real, you seem to have ignored that so that you could write a more provocative post

and please, dont need to congratulate me, i was right all along

No, I'm hostile because you clearly didn't understand a single word I've said which is pretty amazing and now I have to explain everything twice because you didn't bother to read anything apparently.

We are talking about straight line racing in games is boring because it lacks DANGER, a crash will hurt or even kill you real life, which has your adrenalin pumping and your senses on max alert at all times - That isn't present in games thus you only have the challenge aspects which lies in perfecting your time, taking corners perfectly etc.

3D will give you an increased immersion effect ( By a tiny percent ) and it's basically a graphical addition, it will NOT add danger or adrenalin pumping action to the game and the two things are so far from each other in this discussion.

Do you understand it now? You basically talked about apples when we were discussing oranges.

Cant wait for this to come out, looks amazing. Anyone have any idea if there'll be any sort of new demo or if the nissan cup is the last thing before release?

Audioboxer posted it about a page or two back, there will be a fully fledged demo.

yes i understand, thats why i said 3d will not replace actual driving, thats the second time i had to repeat that part for you

based on personal experience with a 3d-equipped geforce4 card back in 2000, i can vouch for the fact that it will create a desirable effect even with something as simple as driving down a straight line... for people who have actually driven a car at speed, the 3d will be 'a tiny percent' of what they have experienced, but i have a feeling that GT5 isnt marketed towards those people...

No it won't, because 3D won't add danger and that's the only excitement about straight line racing.

straight out disagreeing with me... have you ever put on a pair of 3d glasses in your life before? with a properly configured 3d (pupillary distance, anti ghosting, etc) and with CRT monitor refresh rates?

well, i have, and i say for a fact that it will

Have you ever been in a race car, experienced what it's really like? Really sounds like you haven't even been close to anything that goes faster than 5 mph to think a gimmick 3D effect will add the thrill and excitement real-life racing brings you and yes, I have seen games and movies with 3D glasses.

I can't fathom how you can even compare the effect of the two, they are miles apart - I'm stunned.

for the 3rd time, 3d doesnt replace driving

are you purposely ignoring that so you could go all ***** with me?

You keep going on about the immersion of that ****ty 3D in the context of driving, talking about some weak ass immersion that won't even touch the surface of the real thing and is then rendered completely out of context! YOU brought 3D up in relation to OUR discussion about the thrill of real-life racing.

    • The fact that memory in general is so high I have to take a loan out to build a computer now is just beyond stupid. Who's really to blame here? Low supply or high demand?
    • Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 18.1.5.5 by Razvan Serea Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a utility for completely removing AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL graphics drivers and related packages from your system, attempting to eliminate all leftovers (including registry entries, folders and files, driver store). Though AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL drivers can usually be removed via the Windows Control Panel, this uninstaller tool was created for situations where standard uninstall fails, or when you need to fully remove NVIDIA or ATI graphics card drivers. After using this driver cleaner, your system will behave as though it’s the first time you’re installing a new driver—similar to a fresh Windows installation. As with all such tools, we recommend creating a restore point beforehand, allowing you to undo changes if issues arise. If you're having trouble installing an older or newer driver, try it—there are reports that it resolves such problems. Recommended usage: The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best. Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe). It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues. You do NOT need to uninstall the driver prior using DDU. Requirements: .NET Framework 4.8 Compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 (32-bit or 64-bit) Note: Using on Insider Preview builds is at your own risk. WACUP 1.99.51.24568 Preview changelog: Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when doing some of the drag + drop actions within the media library window Fixed a loading crash seen related to a problem with some of the artwork cache image files being restored which should now be better handled allowing for the bad image to be removed without it failing Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when the internal metadata cache clearing is triggered which could block the main ui thread for too long with this now being moved to a background thread Fixed some performance issues with some of the methods related to determining artwork support which mainly affected the local library import / refresh (this is still slower for some compared to other players because there's more data & artwork aspects being checked for which means doing more processing on a single file despite the best of attempts to reduce duplicate / heavy processing where possible) Fixed a crash with the JTFE based missing files hotkey which no one seems to have used for an age for this to appear (maybe it's time to seriously consider stripping out features that aren't being used) Fixed how some of the file types which use extra information to reference their sub-songs is handled which was preventing some from being correctly resolved back to their base file (noticed fixing above) Fixed an issue with the handling of files with underscores in their filepath which wasn't being correctly handled causing some of the filename to be lost when shown as the title if title reading is delayed Fixed a few things that might be behind NotSoDirect not being stable for some setups though am still not certain that the changes done for this are going to fully resolve the problem from the crash reports Fixed the OS toast handling when there's no prior shortcut in the OS start menu to now create the shortcut (needed to allow the yes/no buttons for the new build / post-release toast) to be done as a hidden one so it's less likely to cause annoyance for those not wanting to see it whilst still allowing this less than ideal OS api implementation requirement to be met to avoid toasts without the needed buttons Fixed a regression when moving from taglib1 to taglib2 which broke some of the handling in place to allow for external programs to still access files when wacup has a held open cached instance of the file Everything else Updated cppwinrt (gen_win10shell.dll) to 3.0.260520.1 (26 May 2026) Updated libcurl (libcurl.dll) to 8.2.1 (24 Jun 2026) Updated Monkey's Audio (in_ape.dll) to 13.15 (28 Jun 2026) Updated mpg123 (mpg123.dll) to 1.33.6 (6 Jun 2026) Updated OpenSSL (libcurl.dll) to 3.5.7 (9 Jun 2026) Updated pugixml to 1.16 (16 Jun 2026) Updated taglib (tag2.dll) to 2.3.0 (11 May 2026) Updated vgmstream (in_vgmstream.dll) to the latest Git commit from 28 Jun 2026 Download: WACUP 64-bit | 9.6 MB (Freeware) Download: WACUP 32-bit View: WACUP Website | Screenshots Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
