Have some bloody dignaty, what if webber had died or more hurt than he actully was, do you think that picture would be as funny then?

jesus some people

Fact of the matter is that no body got injured. The cars are designed to take impacts and forces like that before they even think about adding on an engine etc. Safety is key in F1.

Either way. GREAT race. Best race of the season thus far. Well done Kobayashi (Y)

Gotta agree here, context is everything and the cars are designed to let drivers survive. This was a bad one, but he walked away. Webber is an easy enough man to joke about it himself, so I don't see the issue. Well done to Koby, that was an AWESOME race for Sauber and Peter Sauber should be pleased as punch.

has someone heard alonso whining on the pitradio and after the race? gosh, this guy has reached another low. totally lame.

they could've just killed Double diffuser, F-duct, & KERS.

Disagree on KERS, if every car had the same KERS system it would give all drivers an option to boost during a lap, which increases strategy (when to boost) and possible overtaking (at least on circuits with at least two overtaking possibilities or more).

Well that was once hell of a crash by Webber, glad he's OK

he's flipped a car before as well (1999 Le Mans), looks identical just nose of the car the other way. Tho circumstances were slightly different in Le Mans he didn't go into the back of anyone just not enough down-force at top speed.

The results and lack of penalties for today's race was definitely shameful.

lack of penalties? i cant remember the last time when 9 cars got a penalty.

They got a 5 second penalty. What the cars behind the safety car lost was more than 20 seconds.

lost 20 seconds to whom? safetycar went on track and had to wait for the leader. all cars had to drive at a certain speed, calculated by computers and their current track position. its crystal clear i think. the team manager of the sauber team said that cars who got the 5 second penalty gained earlier only 2 or 3 seconds by speeding. so the penalty was fair and balanced.

if there was a problem at this race it was that the safetycar went out a little bit too late, therefore missed the leading car and had to wait and slow down the field for nearly a lap. but its not something which has never happend before. thats racing i think.

dont call me an idiot, i just dont find a crash like that funny, but im guessing you do, so go ahead and laugh your socks off at a crash that COULD have ended in webber loosing his live.

Thanks, we will.

That picture rocks. thumbs_up.gif

Go Kobayashi!

I do think Hammy would of been on top of the podium if if wasn't for his drive through.

to add, thats what the fia said:

The FIA also pointed out that the speeding penalties for cars during their pit stop laps under the Safety Car were relatively lenient because many of them were doing 180mph plus within a couple of hundred metres of the Safety Car line when the car was deployed and could do little about it. They may have broken the letter of the law but not its spirit.

Basically a bunch of cars behind Massa slowed down so much that they could enter the pits on the same lap safety car came out, whereas the Ferrari drivers had to pit the next lap by following the rules. And as Hamilton raced pass the safety car, only Ferrari (and the two cars that didn't stop) was behind the safety car at that time.

According to Autosport the penalty was "failing to stay above the minimum time set by the FIA ECU when the Safety Car was deployed.".

    • Here is the new Surface Laptop Ultra wallpaper in high resolution by Taras Buria Earlier this week, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra, its brand-new high-end laptop powered by NVIDIA's brand-new RTX Spark processor. As usual, Microsoft gives each new device a unique wallpaper, and the Surface Laptop Ultra is no exception. While the device is not publicly available yet, somebody has already extracted its wallpaper, giving everyone a chance to get a piece of the upcoming laptop in its full-resolution glory. The Surface Laptop Ultra has a very dark, abstract wallpaper that resembles the stock wallpapers in Windows Server, albeit with much less color. Having this dark, grim wallpaper highlights the laptop's mini-LED display and its ability to cut off parts of the screen's backlight to achieve OLED-like black levels. However, if you also like light wallpapers, we made a white version by simply inverting its colors. You can download both wallpapers below (click the image, right-click it, and select "Save as"): The Surface Laptop Ultra is expected to launch later this year. Microsoft is not revealing full details yet, including the price. However, Microsoft confirmed up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and RTX 5070-level of GPU performance. The heart of the laptop has up to 20 CPU cores and 6,144 GPU cores. Additionally, Microsoft and NVIDIA boast high CPU efficiency for all-day battery life. As for the display, it is a 15-inch mini-LED display with a pixel density of 262 ppi and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. Of course, not everyone needs this amount of power, and certainly not everyone can afford it. For those who need a more affordable device, Microsoft is also preparing the next-generation Surface Pro powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. Weeks ahead of the announcement, details about this computer were leaked by a retailer. Do you like the Surface Laptop Ultra's stock wallpaper? Share your thoughts in the comments. • From all that I've read on the subject--not that much, really--it looks to me like companies and parents are trying to protect themselves from children using their parents accounts to run up giant bills, sometimes in the thousands of dollars, and the first the parents know about it is when they get sued... Internet companies have been sued for tailoring their ads to children, which is kind of old news. My belief is that policing starts at home with the parents, and the reason that so many laws that can't be enforced are being passed is because parents are eschewing their responsibilities, claiming not enough time, not enough knowledge, etc. Giving kids cell phones sans Internet connectivity is a good place to start--confine Internet activity to PCs in the home that the parents regulate. My kids are all grown and gone, I'm happy to say... They have their own kids to worry about.

    • BTW DXVK is also available on Windows and offers similar benefits like on Linux when it comes to performance, at least in some titles. The Raceroom racing sim for example even offers DXVK as one of its officially supported options and it can achieve ridiculous improvements in certain situations, like quite literally doubling (or more) the framerates
