Mass Effect 2 patched on 360

Mineral scanning "optimised"! BioWare has released a patch for Mass Effect 2 on Xbox 360. A PC version "is in the works". Top of of the list is "optimised" mineral scanning, according to community manager Chris Priestly's forum post. Grunt's Fotification ability has been "fixed", as has an "issue" where players could receive additional talent points.

I just played through the suicide mission portion of the game. I don't quite get why I didn't get the achievement for everyone to survive. I saw Shepard with a coffin, but I have no clue who died since all the prompts before hand kept saying everyone had survived.

The only one who they showed died was a crew member not one of the playable characters?

If you didn't send Mordin back with Chakwas and he wasn't part of your squad during the final boss, there's a good chance it was him. Happened to me the first time I did it too. You need to have him escort the crew back or bring him along to the final fight so he can't die.

This is assuming everyone is loyal, of course.

ah ok, that makes sense then. I didn't send Mordin back or take him with me to the final fight... I did have everyone loyal.

The same thing happened to me in my first play through. I had everyone loyal, but Mordin died when I didn't send him back. I've heard of some cases where he survives somehow, so I don't really know what it is based on.

That patch sounds pretty neat, though. Good on Bioware for addressing the fans' concerns.

Mordin is considered to be a weak choice to block the door as you fight the boss. He's a scientist Salarian who could probably be picked blown away by a gust of wind.

The newest news outta Bioware is that they'll extend ME2's story to tie into ME3 more with the future DLC we get. Which is cool, since I'm not a fan of basic DLC that doesn't have anything to do with the story at all.

Down with paid DLC. Put more content if you developers are going to charge us $50-$60.

DLC, or the idea behind it, is nothing new. We've had expansion packs for games for a very long time, and those used to cost more than the 800 points most DLC goes for on XBL (which is like $10 iirc?). Besides, for a $60 game (I bought it right away), ME2 has a good chunk of content in it from the get go.

You can see all the paid DLC here: http://masseffect.bioware.com/info/dlc/

The mission DLC, Overlord and Kasumi - Stolen Memory, cost 560 BioWare points each on the PC (560 Microsoft points on the X360). If you were to buy 560 BioWare points, it would cost you $7 USD. The free DLC is available on the Cerberus Network.

This DLC better be on par with Mass Effect 2's quality and deliver an amazing background story and give enough material for a good conclusion in Mass Effect 3.

Liara > all despite how the romance sub options of this game is essentially some glorified harem game you see on Newgrounds.

I don't think the DLC is intended to "conclude" Mass Effect 2. The two previous mission DLCs (Overlord & Kasumi - Stolen Memory) acted as side stories, separate from the main Mass Effect 2 storyline. It's why you're able to play them after completing the final mission.

That was a typo. I meant ME3, which is rumored to have a Holiday Season 2011 release date.

I always wondered who the Shadow Broker is

I really hope it's not a single person. It would be fantastic to find out that it's an organization that has been there since the beginning of the formation of the Council.
