I am fully willing to place most of the blame on Brodeur, in addition to the stupid penalties we took. I'm almost thinking we would've faired quite a bit better with Luongo in net. Offensively, we weren't bad (a few stars like Crosby still under performed), but still acceptable. Defensively, we were all over the place. Oh well, I'm confident we'll blow Germany out of the water.

Germany has been playing like ass, though. Even more than us, haha. Hockey as a sport is dying in Germany, and it shows. Definitely not the team it was 10 years ago.

Was it wise to cycle Luongo and Brodeur? It's like the whole Curtis Painter and Peyton Manning argument in the NFL. I don't care how old you are or how experienced one might think they are, the more you play, the more you learn.

Isn't this ironic, though? Brodeur replaced Curtis Joseph as the starter goaltender back in 2002, and led them to gold... Can Luongo show Brodeur to shame?

the veterans of team canada are showing they're not fit enough for this level of play, neidermeyer, pronger, and brodeur were ****. the blackhawks boys were amazing

Brodeur was shameful. He gives up a quick goal and puts us under the gun within a minute. Then he decides to do weird stuff like batting the puck, and failing at a really bad time to poke check? Horrible.

if it wasn't for miller standing on his head....canada would have won. plus kesslers play sealed the deal. i like team usa's choice in going with younger players. doughty played a great game. good to see my fave kings playing well... doughty johnson. brown. and handzus. too bad kopitar and his country didn't make it. i also feel canada made a mistake by not having ryan smyth on the team. they should have chose him over niedermayer. too bad we prolly won't see quick in net.

All I can say is... I've seen Lecavalier, Stamkos and St. Louis all score on Miller :whistle:. Plus they have the wrong Staal on Team Canada as well.

It's the 50th anniversary of 1960 and the 30th for 1980 :p

yeah but lecavalier, stamkos and st louis aren't on the canadian hockey team so your point is moot but then again you might be saying those 3 should be their. I could see Vinny their but stamkos idk...... he is having a good year. out of that draft class doughty deserves to be there more than stamkos ..... St louis definitely not....
