Starcraft 2 Beta

Recommended Posts

Launch the game normally and it should complete the patching process. I can confirm that patch 9 installs properly and Battle.net is back up. :)

You're right, it's working as it should now. Thanks for the heads up!

Edit: Nevermind, doesn't want to log me in. It prompts me to create a new character, and just keeps repeating that process as if I never did it before. I guess I'll just wait until tomorrow to play again.

Wow. There's a bug that allows Zerg players to accumulate larvae by cancelling it right before a [insert Zerg unit] egg hatches. This means Zerg players can get as many as 6 larvae (or more) with a spawning pool for a mega zergling rush. So much for patch 9...

Here's a video:

Where's a good place to watch replays? I haven't played Starcraft much less an RTS in over a decade. Was playing against AI last night and only had a faint remembrance of what to do.

Is that what you are looking for?

After reinstalling the game, all my problems were fixed... it even recognized my graphics card, so all the settings were set to max. Right now I only have three problems:

1) Battle.Net shutting down for maintenance

2) I'd like to be able to zoom out a little more >_>

3) I'm horrible at SC2 and it would be nice if a guide was included

your in for a suprise. During a match the help

menu becomes a VERY NICE GUIDE. You can select your opposing race and see what units strong/weak against. Reminds me of my AOE days :).

went to eb today and preordered

after i cashed out i asked about the beta key

the girl said they ran out

/sign

still no key

no way they did. If your not in the us idk then but in the us Gamestop/eb games got a digital database that I was told has PLENTY OF KEYS. I know the number so believe me it hasn't been exhausted yet.

I'll drop you a key in your inbox tonight. 9-10pm cst(gmt -6).

ya i was pretty surprised to hear that they were sold out of keys. i was surprised.... then angry that i just pre-ordered the CE, paid in full, then got NO KEY

@Scirwode:

Any reason you can't reserve it? Be honest and I'll leave you alittle present among obi ;)

How can I reserve it, considering I'm in Malaysia :p ? Not to mention trying to get it to ship here is pointless as it will cost more than the game itself. The fact that pirated games are still freely available also makes getting original games hard though right now I'm using Steam to get my games, which brings me to another problem - slow internet connections. All I have at home is a 1MB connection though I am in the process of getting at least 5MB as it was recently launched in my area (finally!), but it will take some time for me to subscribe to it. Right now, downloading updates through Steam is painfully slow :pinch: .

Is that honest enough for you :p ?

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
