Starcraft 2 Beta

Recommended Posts

Oh wow. I didn't know you were in Malaysia. I'm on my phone so I don't see location.

Check your pm 9-10pm cst (gmt -6).

;)

Thanks :D !

Scirwode

No prob. Thanks Val. His honesty got him a key. Then I was looking to give out keys to anyone who shows a true passion / honesty and you got one too.

Obi gets one because he reserved / paid off the damn game and didn't get a key..

I have 1 more left for today ;).

DO NOT PM ME. Post in this thread and I'll choose one more. For today.... :p

I would ask for the key in some magically wonderful way. But rather than that I'll just ask for the key for my friend instead. He's way more into Starcraft than I am, and would appreciate getting into the beta way more than me (plus, he'd stop complaining every day about it heh). I don't know if that sounds more pathetic or not, but yes I'd give the key to my friend :)

Playing Starcraft II Beta has made me realize why I quit playing Starcraft in the first place. Sure, playing Starcraft in 1080p on my 46" LCD is a novelty, but after the fancy graphics wear off it's still mostly the same tired old game play.

Im sorry but this is just inaccurate... There is almost no real strategy from SC1 than can be ported into SC2. The balance blizzard found between new and familiar is absolutely perfect IMO.

Why change something that is near-perfect? The designer himself has said that the MP team isn't trying to be innovative (see here). They've tried adding a cover system like the one you see in Dawn of War II and that simply made the game slower. StarCraft's gameplay is about making your units dance around one another with push and pull moves.

Anyway, looks like we'll be seeing some classic Terran units in the Wings of Liberty campaign:

Sorry guys, Late on my part, but I got the keys out to you guys.

So Val, Obi and Scir check your pms and please let me know if it works.

I got one more key, till i get more, who wants this puppy? Dont pm me, post here.

thaaaaaaaaaaanks

just gotta get through the next 8 hours at work before i can get home and play :pinch:

Am I the only person who despises Starcraft and attains no joy from playing the game. I mean I've stayed up for 3 hours to finish a 3v3 Company of Heroes game before, but I can't seem to play this game for 15 minutes without feeling bored.

I'm with you. I tried to get into it because 2 of my friends play it all the time, no go, it's so boring. On the other hand I LOVE AoE (1+2)!

i feel the same way about Halo (i'm probably the only person on earth who owns an xbox360 and doesn't play Halo)

it's just not your cup of tea

tonight at 10pm cst, I'll give you a key. I'm basically ****ed off at blizzard for finally doing a beta test and NEVER invitng people in waves or ****. Yesterday there were 13,500 people on. Really? Come on blizzard.

A TRUE beta test would of invited a lot of people and kept doing it. I realized I've been opted in for 2 years or since the opt in opened and 4 friends were opted in, in the last "wave" and I realized updating your beta opt-in moves you in the system.. Because all my 4 friends got in and I didn't. Saw some post on various Starcraft forums and it came down to the admins saying any change to your beta opt in MOVES YOU TO THE END. WTF.

So who ever can't get a key I am willing to provide. I want passionate people not stupid WOW players who don't even care about this game. IMO wow players are stupid so you wow players don't take it offensive I just don't like wow players in general.

Anyway unless you can reserve the game I'll give you a key.

Also it helps people are being honest with me so in my book honesty wins. Also passion for the game haha.

I'll be getting 10 more keys tomorrow. So 10 more lucky honest passionate neowianians get a key tomorrow.

ALSO to the people that added me, please give me your tag because SC doesn't send out invites.

My tag is Sikh.sikh. Feel free to add me and give memyour addy. That also means VAL, OBI WONG and everyone else i gave a key ready.

That's besides anaron, he gave me his addy, but he's still a n00b ;)

Honesty?

Well, I am a WoW player, yes, but I've been playing Blizzard's games ever since Blackthorne, way, way back. Also, I've spent countless hours playing Starcraft and Warcraft 3 LAN matches throughout the years.

Personally, I don't like what Blizzard are doing to the Warcraft universe with WoW, but we can always hope for Warcraft 4. :)

If you can give me a key, I would really appreciate it. :)

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
