Just got an email for my AKS-74U Assault Rifle pre order item from Gamestop.

Apparently you input the codes for DLC stuff in game, as the directions in the email seem to indicate. I like that, no going through a hard to navigate website like for ME2 and Dragon Age.

It just used my email that I registered at Gamestop with. They're really bad with sending out emails for pre order items. I pre ordered ME2 from Gamestop as well and I didn't get my email until 2 weeks after I got the game. By then I had emailed Gamestop and told them I never got one. So in the end I ended up getting 2 pre order codes. :shiftyninja::laugh:

I wouldn't recommend anyone cheat the system like that..but yeah...I didn't do it on purpose! And you still have 4 more days or so before it really matters.

WTF they didn't even ask me for my email.. hmmm

I am pretty sure that should not matter and you will get it anyway. My one friend who preorders from Gamestop quite often is always referencing the fact he gets emails from them as well about his preorders, and I know for a fact I personally never do. I think some of us are registered under our email, some of us are not. I think we still get the same codes at the end of the day. I would just call them tomorrow to verify though. Actually still time to call them tonight. (Y)

Apparently bootleg is out :(

Hope this beats MW2 in sales still!

I don't see it being MW2, because MW2 appeals to a bunch of kids, where as the Battlefield series never has. It's more of the older crowd who likes the slower paced big world combat.

I called them, and they did not even have an email address on file for me. So I cleared that up. Thanks!!

hopefully this time the "rank up" weapons will be available in single player. Also, hopefully the system will work properly. I never seem to rank up in 2142, despite being on the ranked servers and it saying I rank up. It never actually ranks me up.

Did you not play the beta or demos at all? The rank up system seemed to work just fine. Other than it was capped to rank 11 for the pc beta. I don't know how it worked in the console demos.

no I haven't played the beta or demo of bad company 2. I'm just irked that after all this time they still haven't fixed it in 2142. Hopefully it doesn't have the same problem in this game.

Please especially see the last bullet. If you discuss the Single Player before the release date on Tuesday, you are openly discussing pirated material. So considering this your warning.

I am well aware that a few known groups in the "scene" have released the game early for both PC and 360.

So do not try and say you somehow got an advanced copy, etc., as quite simply, we know it is BS.

Thank you very much for putting an end to this foolishness before it even begun DL.

Just put in my pre-order for the 360. I realize most here have abandoned the console for PC but hopefully I catch up online with a few of you.

I'm going to pay special attention to this thread until Tuesday. ;)

IGN Review - 8.9

That guy made absolutely no sense. He kept exclaiming how the game had huge wondrous maps and vistas packed with tank warfare etc and says the game wasn't cutting it to be labeled epic? What did he want? a snowmobile race that ends in a super jump? Oh wait.

Also as mentioned above, MW2 gets higher on graphics? is he high?

They gave the game a 9 on graphics and sound while giving MWF2 a 10 for those. :pinch:

I've never played a game that sounds as good as BC2. That's kind of surprising.

It's the hype-effect and that's why you should never trust reviews, they are BS now a days.

MW2 has better graphics than BC2? Yeah, right.

@Green_Eye - I see what you mean. He did go on about beautiful vistas and long draw distances and said it wasn't epic. That's pretty conflicting.

    • Valve finally confirms Steam Machine prices, starts at $1049 for 512GB option by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The $1,428 option The Steam Hardware lineup that Valve announced last year is slowly starting to roll out. Following the recent Steam Controller launch, Valve has now confirmed the price of the Steam Machine, its all-in-one console-like solution for PC gaming in the living room. There are currently four variants being presented, with only the storage and the included controller being the biggest differences. All of the Steam Machines have the same internals consisting of a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU with six cores and 12 threads, an RDNA 3 28CU GPU, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, all inside the familiar box Valve has been showing off for months now. The Steam Machine base model starts at $1,049. This has a 512GB NVMe SSD but does not come with a Steam Controller. Keep in mind that storage can be expanded with the microSD card slot too. Next, the $1,128 model has the exact same storage as the previous one but it does come with the new Steam Controller. If you need the Steam Machine to have more storage for games and apps than that, then the 2TB tiers are also available. The $1,349 Steam Machine has no controller once again, but it does ship with two extra faceplates (red fabric and solid walnut) to replace the standard black one. The final option costs $1,428, and it adds the controller back into the bundle. The Steam Machine ships with the Linux-based SteamOS. The box has a 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.0, as well as one USB-C and four USB-A ports. Keep in mind that when purchasing standalone, the Steam Controller has a $100 price tag. With the above bundles, that drops to $80. It's a rather expensive machine for the internals it is touting, though the design and small form factor do help it somewhat. However, at the same time, the lack of upgradability hurts it. Valve says the ongoing parts shortages and massive price hikes for memory were the leading causes for this price. "The overall effect is that our original goal for the price of Steam Machine is no longer viable," added the company. "So the prices we're sharing today reflect the state of the world for manufacturing; or, more accurately, it reflects the price of the components as we've secured them over the past 6 months." Valve wants interested gamers to reserve it now to get the chance to pre-order a Steam Machine starting June 25, with shipping starting on June 29. Head here to sign up. The invites to buy it will be sent in a randomized order.
    • What the press release doesn’t mention, however, is how much water the natural gas plant itself will consume, Natural gas plants use about 2,803 gallons of water per megawatt-hour produced, which is significantly less than coal-fired plants that use around 19,185 gallons per megawatt-hour. Overall, natural gas plants are more water-efficient, using 584% less water than traditional power plants on average. AI generated
