How do people login to the veteran website? Is it done using your EA Login because if so I can't even login for some reason even after resetting my password and trying every password I can think of under the sun.

I logged in with my battlefield account information, worked fine.

Strange, can't seem to login using the same information as I do in game, oh well I would of only ended up with a 1 next to my name since I only kept BF2, 1942 got chucked a long time ago.

Yeah but you'd also receive the M1, which seems great looking at the stats - Should tide my over until I unlock the M14, although I haven't

been able to select the M1 at all

No one has, I have a vet rank of 5 and not unlocked it. It appears to be disabled.

Can someone tell me how I can add BF2142 and BF1943 (PS3) to my Veteran account? BF2 and Heroes worked like a charm though it wont recognize my 2142 acc. I can login ingame and on the 2142 site just fine so there's no issue. Also last time I played it was about a month ago, however the Veteran site said something about linking my BF2142 acc to my EA acc, can't seem to find a way to do so. As for BF1943, I can select it in the drop-down menu but nothing else

OfficialBFBC2 EA server maintenance which is affecting the Xbox 360 BFBC2 is taking longer than expected. We'll have the servers back as soon as possible.

Of course it is. Something tells me EA is pretty damn ignorant when it comes to LIVE. No other way to explain it. I'd really like to get some inside info on what, exactly, the problems have been (load, bugs, etc.) Hopefully, Major Nelson can shed some light on everything because this has been a ****-poor effort.

Well just popped into town to see if Game/Gamestation would price match. They both had it for ?34.99, while online they both had it for ?24.99. They weren't willing to price match - not even against themsevles (N)

Amazon here I come (when I get home).

This game had better be seriously mind blowingly awesome, otherwise.... *shakes fist*

:p

Xbox 360 Battlefield Bad Company 2 crowd the biggest

But PC was leading for a while.

According to DICE, the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has the most players at the moment.

PC players had initially arrived online in larger quantities than on either console, but that's no longer the case.

"During peak US hours the Xbox 360 dominates the player numbers. When that post [the one claiming PC numbers were greater] was made it was the Europeans playing and pushed the PC numbers higher," wrote DICE staffer Bazajaytee on the EA forum.

Could it be because every PC user is thrown off during peak hours, every fifth second? PB issues, Login issues, EA Authentication issues etc. A heap of people even stop playing because of the issues and return later, during non-peak hours to have a chance.

The numbers can't possibly be painting a real image of the situation with all these problems.

I just bought the game yesterday off Steam. I haven't played it yet though since I started the download right before I went to bed. I've been itching to play a modern shooter for a while. I can't get Punkbuster to work on Windows 7 so that means no MW1, and I refuse to buy MW2. So, this is really the only other option.

I really really hope it's good. Sethos, I'm trusting you on this one...

EA sucks the big one. However, wouldn't that be issues for the 360 version (and PS3 version) as well? They are all on the EA servers and using EA logins and authentication. Granted, no PB.

I haven't had any issues yet (knock on wood) with the 360 version.

Nope, there are problems on all three platforms but they appear to be running different servers so the issues

aren't 'connected' and the PC is by far the platform that has taken the biggest hit, error / bug / issues wise.

I haven't heard of any PS3 issues thus far, either there's not enough users to trigger anything or not enough Neowin

PS3 players that report back

I lost one maybe two hours over the weekend when playing non stop. The issues are blown out of proportion. EAs master server did crash our server occasionally and we lost 20 mins due to a punkbuster update but that was our providers fault for not telling us there was an update!

Ouch, well that sucks the big one. What are the odds of EA addressing this blush.gif

No it wasn't, it's because the issues were localized at times or only hit a percentage of people - So you may have been lucky to have

avoided the problems and other people were too but people need to stop dismissing the issues because they were there and some were hit

hard.

Well I'll take it with a pinch of salt. We had over 15 trickery folk on vent playing away all weekend and none of them said anything about outages we didn't all suffer.

Hello all, new to the forums (hence the lack of info in my avatar/sig etc). I want this game so bad! Might have to nip out and pick it up. Which is the better version to get, and what are the reasons for that? Also, are the server issues fixed now?

Oh, and where is best/cheapest to get this? I live in the UK during the week, Ireland at the weekends.

    • Free Software Foundation Europe pushes EU to force Google to allow AI uninstalls on Android by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels Users should be able to fully uninstall AI-based features from Android devices and be able to access interoperability functions, free from Google’s verification requirements, the European Commission has heard as part of an Android interoperability consultation under the Digital Markets Act. These measures were proposed by the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) last week when it submitted its documentation. The FSFE noted that Google had started silently installing AI models without telling users. It noted that the EU’s DMA requires companies like Google to allow users to uninstall pre-loaded software from their devices, but in the case of the AI models Google is installing, they reinstall if you delete them, contravening the DMA. To get Google back under control, the FSFE has told the European Commission that there needs to be improvements within the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). First, it said that users should be able to fully remove pre-loaded AI components from their devices, with companies being prohibited from silently reinstalling or reactivating them. Second, access to Android interoperability features should not be contingent on registration, authorization, or contractual relationships with Google. This pertains to Google’s attempt to force developers to register with Google, even to publish apps to alternative app stores like F-Droid. Discussing its submission, Lucas Lasota, FSFE Legal Programme Manager, said: Google is planning to roll out its Android Developer Certification in September 2026. This will force every Android app developer to register with Google before their software can be installed on certified Android devices, but it should affect those who have removed Google Apps from their device. The program is controversial because it entails the signing of contracts and payment of account fees to Google, as well as the handing over of the identities of developers. It said: The FSFE said that if the Commission’s draft measures remain unchanged, then Google will be allowed to make developers verify their identity. The FSFE believes that asking developers to register is contrary to the text and spirit of the law. In summary, the FSFE has told the Commission that no developer should need a Google account, a Play Store presence, or any agreement with Google to access Android’s interoperability features.
