@Boz - Just go on to a server with a decent set of admins and PB Streaming setup then. Job done.

Edit: Going by the amount of moaning about cheats on the official forums too is this the new bandwagon to jump on to this week?

They are noobs. they confuse hacks and Lag with each other.

I just had a massive frustrating game play last night. Just nothing was going my way. Oh well, night before that I had some great rounds. Cant have them all. This game is extreme on both ends. When you're losing, its frustrating as hell! But when you're winning its amazing. Granted I still have fun either way.

One of my major complaints is how the server list is not saved and requires you to refresh it again. This wouldnt be a problem normally, however it takes ages for the server browser to grab the list. I hope they address this.

Eh, hacks just come with the territory as far as PC gaming is concerned. The best you can do is find a good server that is being administrated properly like Spookie said (although admittedly, that isn't always easy with the atrocious server browser that DICE has given us). I played CS:Source for ages, and that game had a higher density of hackers than this game will ever have. I didn't let them ruin my fun then, and I won't let it happen now.

All of the talk about headsets on this thread has opened my eyes (or rather, my ears). I think it might be time to kick my cheap Logitech pair to the curb. I was holding off for the long time, because there was no game enticing enough to make me buy a new headset. However, I can see myself playing this for a long time to come, so I may as well take the plunge and do some research :).

Damn. The Astro A41 headset looks amazing. It's too bad the MixAmp is sold separately. It's required for Xbox360 & PS3 compatibility. That's $130 on top of the $200 price tag for the headset.

i don't konw what they are talking about when it says connection issues have been resolved. Pings are still crap and it takes a year to load the server list...

Yeah, that is one thing I don't understand. I join servers that are displayed as having a low ping (in the 30's) but when I actually get into the game, everyone has pings in the 100s. I'm usually around the 130-150 mark when I play, and it's not the greatest for a shooter...

it's garbage for a shooter. I use to be so picky with CS and CSS that i wouldn't play unless my ping was below 60-70, same with COD. Now with battlefield if im around 160 im happy :(

I actually havnt noticed HUGE lag issues.. visually that have affected the game.. even though the latency/ping is way past up in the 100's. I have only had a few games that have noticeable lag moments. Either way I havnt been too affected by the number being reported back. *shrugs*

But I've said it before and I'll say it again. That server browser needs to be fixed.

I thought the same thing Till i looked at the "audio" systems. If you look there you can get the astro a40s plus the miniamp for $250 if you buy it as a bundle. I was happy to see that and will be ordering one within the next month.

At those compaining about the "ping" it's latency. So your "pings" are fine for this game. If the server had a low ping when you join I and Theres no lag your fine.

@Lingering: man where have you been! Good headsets are always essential for pc gaming. If it wasn't for pc gaming headset we would have console pros who have Tritons or turtle beaches that are popin around the corner killing you. I remember 4-5 years back everyone was like "he plays to much or he's hacking or he's lucky". No it's "damn what headset do you have".

Console gamers just realized that GOOD quality headsets are what make gaming even better. So you can hear the jets fly by, heli fly in, someone driving on a quad, getting snuck up on. If it wasn't for my g35s I would of been dead so many times when being base raped at port valdez or Nelson bay. The fact I can hear someone else look on my map and it's not a team member gives me an extra few seconds to stab a bitch. I've collected over 100 dogtags in matter of hours.

It's not broken. You just don't understand there is a difference between game latency and ping to the server. How I understand it is they measure the entire round trip rather than the ping.

It's not broken. How I understand it is they measure the entire round trip rather than the ping.

i know the difference (Y) either way it needs to be fixed. Why would it be counting latency when it says ping, it measure ping in the server browser and when you go into the game it says ping? And if both are latency, why it is so good in the server browser then crap when you get into the game?

EA completes Battlefield: Bad Company 2 server maintenance

After a rocky launch period, EA assures us via Twitter that the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 online servers should now be finally stable. Pretty much every iteration of Bad Company 2 has seen issues arise when connecting to EA's servers for multiplayer online, with Xbox 360 kicking some users all the way out to the Dashboard and PC users experiencing authentication issues with PunkBuster.

The developer now says that those issues have been addressed, due in no small part to new servers being added over the weekend. "All new hardware is in place and ready to serve your BFBC2 needs," the tweet reads, backed up by a Q&A on the Battlefield Blog with more info. While some players may still experience a stat loss issue, EA and DICE are actively looking into a fix and encourage anyone who experiences said glitch to report it right here. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got dudes to sneak up on and knife in the back.

So that says to me if you still have server issues, EA is saying it is no longer on their end. Good luck all.

Also they are fixing the server browsert they already know about it. No use complaining if there working on fix

(Y) are they now? if you keep talking without backing any of it up eh?

Server maintenance = hardware.

Server browser = software.

Two entirely different things. The browser will be fixed in a patch in the future.

its something more then that, a patch wouldn't explain why the server pings on the browser is about 6-7x lower then the ping reported in the game.

Just tried Rush mode on PC at the urging of some people, and of course I get stuck on a team as I always do of nothing but snipers, could not even take the first 2 crates.

I armed both myself, but it was pointless, my team just sat back and sniped and did absolutely nothing, oh except one guy had 26 kills and 3 deaths.

And of course the other team actually played it the way it is supposed to be played, and just steamrolled over us. Nothing I could do against a whole team of snipers sitting back while the other team actually played it right. I guess I just have awful luck with the Rush matches I choose, but it is literally always the same scenario.

Luckily God Of War III just arrived, will let me take a much needed break from this game before I get utterly fed up with it.

i gave up on rush, being the only guy trying to get the objectives done gets REALLY annoying...

Tend to only play Rush when I'm with my friends. Playing with randoms make the nerd rage come out in me.

Jesus dude, you try to get me angry dont you. HERE JUST FOR YOU

Server Browser bugged: All the following browser issues are things the team is currently working on improving.

Too slow This is caused by the current browser system. - A new system is being developed by the BFBC2 PC team to improve the server browser

Displaying inaccurate number of players connected on game servers - This is caused by the difference in server status between when the refresh was initiated and when the results display.

No ping displayed - This is caused by Windows admin privileges. To view ping in the server browser run BFBC2.exe with administrator privileges.

    • We check out the SKG PS700 Neck Massager by Steven Parker I was offered the chance to test out the SKG PS700 Neck Massager, and full disclosure, they let me keep it regardless of my findings. Anyway, I jumped at the chance due to my long hours sitting at my desk; I figured it could offer some neck pain relief. What's in the box: SKG PS700-2 Neck Massager Rechargeable Battery (inside massager) Type-C USB cable User Manual Quick Start guide 1-Year Warranty In short, everything you need to get started. According to the official listing, here are the key features: Biomimetic Kneading & High Torque Motor: Designed with innovative biomimetic kneading heads that perfectly simulate the touch of human hands. Powered by a high-torque motor, this massager delivers powerful and precise deep tissue relief to effectively target stiff neck muscles and release built-up tension Soothing Heat & Integrated Sound Relaxation: Experience the ultimate Relaxationation with our dual-action approach. The soothing heat function gently warms your neck, while the built-in sound Relaxation provides calming audio tracks, helping you achieve a state of mindfulness and mental tranquility during your physical massage Cordless Convenience & Travel-Ready & Father's Day Gifts: Crafted for maximum portability and ease of use. Its lightweight, cordless design allows you to enjoy a premium massage anywhere without the hassle of tangled wires-whether you're taking a quick break at your desk or winding down at home Versatile Relief for Home & Office: An essential wellness companion for office workers, gamers, frequent travelers, or anyone looking to integrate mindfulness into their daily routine. It seamlessly fits into your lifestyle, providing instant neck relief whenever and wherever you need it Safe & Premium Materials: Manufactured with high-quality, skin-friendly materials to ensure a safe and comfortable experience without irritation. SKG backs this device with dedicated customer service, making it a thoughtful tech-health gift for family and friends App & Bluetooth Music Control: Connect via Bluetooth to control your massage settings through the dedicated app and enjoy your favorite music during your massage session for a fully customizable and immersive relaxation experience Red Light Warmth Technology: Features advanced red light warmth technology that penetrates deep into neck muscles to enhance blood circulation and provide soothing comfort while relieving muscle tension and stiffness Design With all that out of the way, here are my own findings. SKG does not say what materials are used to make the neck massager. However, on the product website, it mentions "soft-touch silicone" with what looks like PU leather cushioning, with the rest being mostly made up of plastics. On the inside of the massager, there are two "biomimetic kneading heads" that are motorized for the different styles of massage, which are not actually listed at all in the paper user manual, but the standard included modes are: De-stress mode, Mediation mode, Relax mode, Shiatsu mode. The massager looks quite premium and is actually very comfortable to wear. This massager is small and light enough to go anywhere, as it doesn't get in the way of anything, so I was able to use it in the chair while writing this review. Unlike the back massager, SKG does not warn in the user guide not to use it for more than 30 minutes a day (or two 15-minute sessions). However, there is a long laundry list of important safeguards to consider before and during the use of the device, and it is warned that the neck massager is not waterproof. It also includes a 1,400mAh battery with a rated power of 14W and input of 5V, which is the standard for up to USB 3.0 power (although the Amperage is not mentioned at all). SKG does not say how long it takes to charge, but a quick calculation at 2A (if that is what it is) would mean it would take roughly 1.5 hrs to charge from empty. In any case, the light around the button changes from orange to green on a full charge. In addition, it is not possible to use the device while it is charging. On the right of the neck massager is the On/Off and modes button, which also acts as a joystick. You can operate all the modes directly from the power button, as well as the app, which I'll get into a bit later: Push up: Short press to adjust Heat levels On/Off button: long press Mode Switching: Short press (while in operation) ➕ Push left: increase Music volume ➖ push right: decrease Music volume Push down: Short-press to turn Music on or off The massager defaults to De-stress mode, and it is not stated anywhere if the neck massager has overheat protection. This time around, regarding heat, the only detail I could find is that it has "triple action soothing heat." The temperature stages are not listed anywhere in the paper manual, Amazon listing, or official website. The heat levels can be adjusted through the app or directly on the device using the joystick button. Usage There's also the SKG Health app, which makes using the massager far easier than feeling around for the button on the side of your neck. If the app is stopped, you are required to log in with a verification code over email, which I am not too pleased with, as this means it will only work that way for however long SKG decides to support it through said app. However, I was not able to get the app to connect to the OS500, which I have reported back to my contact. Bluetooth appeared to be working on the neck massager as it became available to pair with my phone, but the SKG app failed to discover it. Before I forget, there's also a switch next to the USB charging port to deactivate and activate the Voice Prompt, which, when enabled, audibly tells the user when switching intensities, modes, or connecting to the app and informs when the massages start and are completed. That said, on to my likes and dislikes, which are listed below. What I didn't like Unable to connect the Neck Massager to the app Use through the mobile app relies on continued support from SKG What I liked Can be used without the app Cordless use Light and comfortable to wear Heat is also quite comfortable Where to buy: According to the official website, this has an MSRP of $249.99, but is currently $50 (on Amazon). To sweeten the deal a bit more, there's also an in-page coupon that knocks a further $20 off the price. SKG PS700-2 Neck Massager for $179.99 on Amazon (was $199.99) Apply the in-page $20 off coupon for the final price of $179.99 Just like the back massager, this gets a confused thumbs up (due to the cost). However, I cannot rate it through app usage as it failed to connect. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

    • I just wish they would put more love into Virtual Desktops. There is just so much more they could do.
    • Sounds like you just skimmed over the review, I answer all those questions in it. Although I admit I did not test if DTS works over the headphones, when I get some time I will test this. My personal use case is more speaker-driven (I cover this in the review too).
