Regarding the Medic revives, I think I'd rather have them revive me to get the added ticket than to just stand around doing nothing. It does suck when you get that revival and immediately you die BUT at least they are using their extra tools. I am getting so sick of players on my team watching the opponent just run by them. I see all these snipers camped out, hell I even spawn on them, watch them and they don't shoot! WTF? Playing Rush last night on Valparaiso trying to get the first set of M-COMs, we had 3 snipers camped out on the line. They could have taken out the enemies who running to defuse the M-COM. I would go set the charge then see enemies running at me and no support at all. I wish more people used headsets!

One thing I really love doing now is spotting. You get great points for it, especially in squad. I go out of my way a lot of times to spot the enemy first then proceed. Not enough players do that either.

Im not a fan of sniping.. or snipers in this game.. but my one friend I play this with actually does this. Its really useful, because he can see units better than I can (depending where he's mounted) and then he spots them on radar.. if they are close to me.. I have the advantage. I kill the enemy, he gets some points too. Snipers should always be doing that. Its very rare they do.

when i snipe i always call out targets..i keep hitting my "q" key on every person i see.

i hate when people dont call targets out cause its sometimes so hard to see them and they sneak up behind you and next thing you know they knifed the squad u were with.

It's sad that Recon players don't spot as often as they should. They have an advantage over other classes because they can use the scopes on their sniper rifles to zoom in on enemies in the distance. Heck, they could even use a scope dedicated to spotting (which further emphasizes their need to do so). It's not just Recon though, other classes should spot as often as possible. See enemies? Spot them. See a tank? Spot it. It's so helpful when I could actually see where the enemy is. It makes killing them so much easier.

One of the recon class perks is a scope that is supposed to spot things automatically, but as far as I know it doesn't work. At least it never worked for me, I much prefer the magnum ammo anyways. When I play recon or any other class every time I see someone I hit the q button to spot them. It's become habit.

You can spot enemies with any weapon just by pressing select button

Yep, I believe this is what everyone is talking about, but on the PC it is Q.

I even heard there are some sniper weapons that auto spot, will spot as soon as you see the person in the scope.

Honestly I hit Q before I even fire on the PC, this way if I miss them for whatever reason, hopefully someone else gets them and I still get some points. Not only that but it just helps everyone out. on 360 sometimes I do not hit Select before I fire, as it is not as easy as hitting Q truth be told.

The only thing I will admit is somewhat cheesy about spotting is you technically do not have to see the person to spot them. Meaning if you know a map well, and you know the enemy will be coming from a certain area, you can hit Q just in that vicinity and it will spot them even if you do not technically see the person. It gave me what I considered an unfair advantage on a stationary 50 cal mounted gun, but that only lasted so long as I got sniped pretty fast, so maybe it was not that unfair.

I do the same thing DL does. I always hit q before I even shoot because either way you get points for the kill.

I mostly play engineer now. I didn't like it at first, and I defaulted to my "comfort-zone" recon and medic classes. However, I had one game where I was "forced" to play as an engineer, and I ended up having a great round: destroyed around 10 vehicles and helped defend MCOM stations. The attacking team didn't even take the first 2 MCOMs. I find it extremely satisfying pegging a helicopter with an rpg without any type of sissy-pansy laser targeting system. :p It's also fun using your RPG to take of infantry.

Was the BC2 Steam client updated yesterday? I logged in around 11PM EST and the server browser and in-game lag issues seemed to be a lot smoother. I couldn't tell if my game updated because I turned Steam on when I got home from work around 5PM, but then I went into the living room to play God of War 3...

Indeed. I have to admit that I'm still trying to get into the habit of spotting enemies whenever I see them, even when I'm confident that I can get the kill. If, for whatever reason, I mess up and get killed, at least my teammates can get the drop on the enemy while they're weak. And it's nice that you get points for spotting an enemy who gets killed. The DICE guys did a really good job of making sure that you get points for being a team player (kill assist points, resupply points, spotting points, etc.). I definitely have to take my hat off to them for that.

Just had an awesome game on Arica Harbor. I went 24-4 with the Engineer class but I was mainly using an M95 that I picked up from someone that fell victim to my awesome knifing. I don't play Recon a lot so I haven't unlocked the M95 yet but damn, it's one awesome sniper rifle. I dropped enemies left, right, and centre with it.

I played some more and didn't do too well but then, my game crashed to the desktop. I thought DICE fixed all the issues. Apparently, they didn't.

Likewise. I just played for about 90 minutes before a crash, which was a lot longer session than before the patch.

We're getting there, slowly but surely.

Sure thing. Just let me enter IDDQD and I'll be good to go. Oh wait, wrong game.

I like how the revivals were handled in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and I really wish that the DICE guys would adopt a system like that. Basically, when you lose all of your health in ET, the camera hovers over your corpse, and you can either lie on the ground and wait for a medic to revive you, or you can hit a button and have your character die. At least that way, you can avoid those situations where you're clearly screwed.

The fact that the camera isn't on you after you die doesn't help either. Its such a shock when you're revived that sometimes you don't even have time to think about what to do.

worst for me is getting revived when i have no ammo and im in the middle of a reload and i get popped again, then revived again, then popped again etc etc etc...

i have that scope (i have my recon class maxed out)

and your right..it doesnt work. unless im doing it all wrong.

20? Fail. Go 32 or go uninstall.

Do you guys know what the beeping noise is that comes on sometimes? I can't figure it out. I'll be on foot running or whatever then hear a beep that is every 2 seconds. Then it goes away. I thought it meant you got spotted?? Don't know. And glad to see others using the spot. I agree, Larry, you can just spot an enemy without really knowing "where" they are. What I find strange is there are times I try to spot a tank or chopper and it doesn't register. Haven't figured that out yet, either.

Starting to get the hang of it now, and getting enough kills to break even with the shocking amount of deaths I seem to suffer. I am glad to report the usage of the M60 has dwindled, only to be replaced by a nade-launcher. That only seems to kill me, even at point blank range. Go figure eh. Currently playing between medic and soldier classes (Y)

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
