It's not new content though. It's just a different game mode on a old maps, which is what they've been doing since the start. All these maps in the various game modes and dlcs are already on our game discs. They're just unlocking them, so you're paying for what you already have.. twice.

Now if it was a new game mode and new maps to go with it, then I would say it's probably worth it. But as is stands.. their attitude towards PC players is pathetic. They're acting like a 10 year old kid throwing a temper tantrum because they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Well stated! I agree 100%.

So yeah, the rebuild of the patch failed again. We probably won't be seeing it next week now at this point.
I think I speak for everyone when I say "ahahahahahahahahah" lets face it, we will never get this patch (most likely). There has to be a point where the people at the top, say enough is enough and you can't spending time on this etc etc.

Well apparently if I'm getting this right the guy in charge of coding stuff has been on vacation/holiday for a while. So he basically started fixing things yesterday.

All the other reasons they gave us as an excuse as to why the patch was delayed was bull**** pretty much.

Adding insult to injury:

Also this month, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Kit Shortcuts will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for those players who don't have time to spend levelling up to unlock all the kit specific items but still want to be competitive with those who have unlocked everything. The Kit Shortcuts will give you the unlocks available for kit each kit while still allowing you to progress through the ranking system as normal and will be available for 560 MS Points/$6.99 individually or if you want the whole bundle of kit shortcuts including the 7 available vehicle unlocks, 1600 MS Points on Xbox Live and $19.99/17.99€. The Kit Shortcuts will be available on Xbox Live Worldwide and European PlayStation Network from 16th June with the North American PlayStation Network having access to the shortcuts from 22nd June.

http://blogs.battlef...-onslaught.aspx

So now it's pretty apparent that DICE has sold out completely and lied to us about everything they've said. And oh yeah, onslaught is $9.99 or 800 MS points.

It's ironic that people have been complaining from day one that kits are unlocked way to fast.

I have been against the idea of kits from day one. They provide an unfair advantage. If you give everyone the same weapons, then the only factor is skill.

Does anyone get disconnected from the first server after like 15/20 minutes? I usually get disconnected where I'm kicked out of a server, but when I rejoin, I can play for hours, it's really annoying. It happens every single time I start Battlefield, and no, it's no my PC.

If I leave a server and join a new one before it disconnects, it still happens. :/

I disagree. That might be the case if the last weapons that are unlocked were so much more powerful than the first ones you get. But that's not how it is. Besides that you can fully unlock a class in less than 10 hours of game play.

Anyways, if people want to waste their money on things like this, that's fine by me. People who buy things like this will just end up being CG spammers anyways because they want an easy rout to winning. Also people who are willing to buy kits will most likely get bored of the game more quickly and stop playing. There's always that, at least.

Disable UPNP on your router, and all your problems will be solved mate ;)

It isn't a router issue. It is a game issue. LOTS of people have reported that this fixes most of their disconnect problems across different coutries, ISPs and hardware configuration. It is poor coding on DiCE's part.

I wouldn't be quick to blame the game, it just seems weird that this issue is not exhibited across everyones network, especially since the game would be the common factor.

I've had a few lan parties (8) with BFBC2 non of which exhibited disconnect issues, but one of which exhibited lag spikes.

Off the top of my head the router software used were Pfsense, Smoothwall, DD-WRT on an WRT54GL, Standard D-Link 4300, D-Link DIR-655 (lag spikes), Buffalo something...

I guess I know what to try if I have I issues.

Dude, it is defintely this game. This fix/workaround isn't new. The official forums are full of threads where people have turned off UPNP, and then they can play fine.

Dude, I am not ruling that out, I just said it was improbable, so calm down. It is good to remember there is a lot of stuff on the internet that is wrong. Dude, like stupid registry entries on every windows forum that do nothing.

BFBC2 definitely uses UPnP in some form.

DUDE! (lol @ dudes) it works, end of story. It is the games crappy code.

Anyone wondering why the game is really in such a sad state has to look no further than this tweet:

Bazajaytee

Got DICETube streaming the World Cup to my PC while I work. Damn I love working for DICE smile.gif

So I'm thinking maybe if they actually payed a little bit of attention to their work the game wouldn't be so messed up. Maybe???

it's the world cup... their excused.

Because you can't watch TV and do work at the same time. And rajput is right, it's the World Cup, 'nuff said.

That Tweet did make me laugh a little bit. I know a lot of people who are streaming World Cup matches while at work. I'm going to guess that worldwide productivity will take a nosedive for the next month :).

As for BC2, I'm pretty much done with the game now. It has been out since the beginning of March, and us PC gamers have received a whopping one patch. Not since Command & Conquer Generals have I seen such a great game receive such horrible support. I haven't played either of the console versions, so I can't speak regarding those, but DICE have squandered their opportunity to create an amazing PC FPS game. It's still great, but it could have been so much more.

Back to Team-Fortress 2, I suppose.

    • Windows 11 version 26H2 is now available for testing in the latest preview build by Taras Buria Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. There are no new features, but Microsoft is officially moving the Experimental Channel to version 26H2. In addition, Microsoft is improving the copy dialog in File Explorer, the Start menu reliability, and fixing virtualization issues. Here is the changelog: [General] With today’s build, Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel will see the versioning updated under Settings > System > About (and winver) to version 26H2. For more information, see the Windows Insiders blog. [File Explorer] We’ve improved the visual consistency and reliability of the Copy dialog in Dark mode, including its launch experience and the expanded progress view. [Start menu] - Also available in Beta Improved reliability of Start menu reflecting newly installed or removed apps without requiring sign-out or restart. [Taskbar] Fixed an issue for Insiders using the new smaller taskbar option, where the system tray might get cut off or pushed off screen. [Settings] - Also available in Beta Improved reliability of Settings > Apps > Startup. [Virtualization] - Also available in Beta This update addresses an issue that could result in bugchecks citing HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001) and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E) errors after installing the latest flights on some devices during system restarts, virtual machine operations, or while running some gaming applications. You can find the official changelog for the Experimental build here and for the Beta build here.
    • I've always preferred this possibility. There is something that feels good about the idea that all matter in the universe will eventually come back together and maybe even result in another big bang. The idea that the universe would fizzle out over the eons and forever drift apart is a little depressing. I realize it is not logical to let a basic human desire for life to have a grand everlasting meaning change the way I feel about a scientific theory, but I am human, so that is how I feel :-).
    • Windoze 11 could finally go to hell, instead of making me savor yet another error I've never had. "Bad Pool Caller" or whatever TF cryptic crap0la message it is. Adding salt to injury, it says something along these lines (on the blank black screen after it hard stops): "Your windoze needs to restart. You can restart." NO WAY SHERLOCK. The PEECEE, look, it's *blocked*, I can do jack sh1t with it as it is and you say that it needs to restart? Further, that I can restart? What am I supposed to do, take a herbal bath? Sudo a sandwich? Timewaster pile of useless slop and errors, coded by monkeys and force-fed on us by a pedo-founded corporation, that's all there is to it. Now, let's have a fun weekend trying to handle the error, which after a quick internet check can basically be due to EVERYTHING, from memory faults to drivers to motherboard issues. Thanks M$.
    • Zen Browser 1.21.3b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. Vertical Tabs: Manage tabs vertically. Container Tabs: Separate browsing sessions. Fast Profile Switcher: Switch between profiles easily. Tab Folders: Organize tabs into folders. Customizable UI: Personalize browser interface. Security Features: Inherits Firefox’s robust security. Fast Performance: Lightweight and optimized for speed. Zen Mods Customization: Deep customization with mods. Quick Access: Easy access to favorite websites. Open Source: Built on Mozilla Firefox with community collaboration. Community-Driven: Active development and feedback from users. GitHub Repository: Contribute and review the source code. Zen Browser 1.21.3b changelog: New Features Updated to Firefox 152.0.1 Fixes Fixed transparency not working after updating to 1.21.2b (#14259) Fixed frequent crashes affecting users with Intel Raptor Lake processors Fixed an issue on macOS where choosing a PDF option, such as "Save as PDF", from the system print dialog would send the job to your printer instead of saving a file.
