As for BC2, I'm pretty much done with the game now. It has been out since the beginning of March, and us PC gamers have received a whopping one patch. Not since Command & Conquer Generals have I seen such a great game receive such horrible support. I haven't played either of the console versions, so I can't speak regarding those, but DICE have squandered their opportunity to create an amazing PC FPS game. It's still great, but it could have been so much more.

Back to Team-Fortress 2, I suppose.

that ruined the game...

Went to the "Store" in the menu today (360 version), and it prompted to me to download a 280mb update/patch, then restarted the game. Every game I played today had rubberbanding and lag after this update. Stupid EA/DICE need to get their **** together god damn it.

Bad Company 2 is still pretty decent, BF3 though <3

I love the way everyone is praising BF3. Has it been officially annouced? Also, from what i've been told (forum rumors) they'll be basing it on the Bad Company series. FTMFL.

Since DICE Sweden took over, BF is now a joke and I don't have much hope for BF3... when and... if it comes out.

Also i'm pretty sure it wont be PC exclusive only, because EA can make LOADS of cash from spreading it across consoles, which also leads to the rumor or BF Heros being annouced for console @ E3.

BF3 has been announced to be in the works. Probably for mid to late 2011. And are you aware that the same people who made BF2, 2142, and all the others are the ones who made BC2?

And BF3 won't be based on bad company 2, but it will use the same engine pretty much. Bad Company 2 is Frostbite 1.5 engine I think, where BF3 is supposed to be Frostbite 2.0. That's what I remember reading anyways.

I recently got back into it and started playing squad deathmatch with a buddy of mine. Man, I really forgot how fun this game is. Squad deathmatch FTW!

squad deathmatch is the best mode, i did some conquest for an hour. had a good time.

It might just. It's fast-paced and fun. Plus, you're encouraged to play as a team rather than running around with a bunch of people with no "plan" (other than mindless attacking/defending). Any news on the PC patch or the new made mode (Onslaught)?

DICE does not care about PC people

Probably not this week because of e3, so I'm guessing the week after.

The PKM, Type 88LMG, G3, An94, and 40mm shotgun have returned to their former glory.

Increased the damage of the MG3 to bring it in line with the rest of the LMGs.

Fixed a bug where the Saiga12 with slugs would do too much damage at long range.

Fixed a bug where the SVU would do too little damage at long range.

Fixed a bug where M95 rounds would not kill armored targets with headshots.

Lots of good changes in there, now just release it already. I like how they claim the M95 damage modifier fail was a bug instead of a total over sight on their part.

DUDE! (lol @ dudes) it works, end of story. It is the games crappy code.

are you sure its the games code, i haven't ran into this problem at all. if it were the games code it would be happening to everyone. i wouldn't be suprised the problem is caused by punkbuster rather than the game has anyone had this issue on non-punkbuster servers

I guess we can say goodbye to the M1 Garand. Anyway, the upcoming patch is going to add support for the SPECACT kits for all game modes. Does this mean it'll be free? I assume it's the DLC skin (different coloured camo/weapons) so correct me if I'm wrong.

LOL @ the new patch changes. Get the bloody patch out NOW!!

But it is happening to everyone. Check the older threads on the official forums.

That's pretty cool. Depending on what those changes are (and hopefully there are more then what is shown at the bottom of the change log), I may have to jump back in when the patch comes out. Actually, I'll probably be doing that anyways, if for no other reason than to satisfy my curiosity.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Is Going To Vietnam [E3]

from Kotaku by Michael McWhertor

EA is taking its recent hit shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on a tour of Vietnam, launching an expansion named—get this—Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam this winter, just announced at its E3 press conference.»

fix my ****ing m16

Agreed 100%. I don't understand why that weapon was nerfed to begin with. To make matters worse, they went way overboard and now it's basically a pea shooter. To be fair, it's a very accurate pea shooter, but worthless all the same.

I have to admit, I thought that the Vietnam thing was a joke when I first read it. I'm intrigued about the prospect of some new maps and weapons (if not necessarily excited), but has DICE completely run out of ideas now?

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
