new feature in photoshop CS5

Recommended Posts

Was thinking that this would be a really good feature to have to prep images for canvas printing where subject at the periphery of the image would be lost in the stretching of the canvas. All you would need to do would be to enlarge the canvas area in PS and use that fill feature to create a new matched region that will be the area that is fitted around the side of the canvas frame.

Least the theory works in my head.

It is content aware. so it matches the space with what the majority around it is, so if the majority is mountain, it will match with mountain

Thats my understanding anyway :)

seriously...? You're VERY mistaken. YOU may not use it, but I can guarantee many many people will.

Yes, it will probably become quite useful in e.g. magazines, where they can now more easily retouch stuff irrelevant to the photo "out" of the picture. (they often use stock photography to accompany the articles, where they may not be perfectly suited, but almost, and where this can come in handy)

ummm, you don't have to work for a magazine to want to remove some powerlines or other random unwanted elements from your otherwise perfect or even just good shot. Especially if you do landscape, and well, there's nowhere in the world you can get a good landscape shot today without some random powerline ruining the shot.

LOL I was joking, but thank you :)

As I posted it I wondered why 123% was any less easy to see lol

Still need to manually fix the little bug where fields end above the rightmost tower where one of the balloons where.

but overall, damn good job. and that bug is a lot less to fix than having to do all of it manually :)

Yea I saw that, but removing the balloons was literally a 30 second job !
