[ROOT] unrEVOked 3.2: one-click root for GSM & CDMA Desire - xda-developers

As far as I know, doesn't Brut just add navigation worldwide, what else does it have that standard Google Maps doesn't?
Different add-ins to Brut available (I think), and the fact that it caches the map to your SD card means offline navigation!

Does everybody's Desire (Sense I mean) lag at the bottom of (some) menus? Most notable in the App Drawer.

I remember people saying with the Froyo update it's perfect but mine has been the same since 2.1, in all (that I remember) custom ROMs too.

Doesn't happen on other launchers though (LauncherPro etc).

I'd try overclocking but I don't think there is any kernels that allow it with Sense, not looked far though

There are OC kernels available for 2.1, but HTC have not released the kernel source for 2.2 yet, so no OC kernels for the Sense builds will be available until they do.

Go for Class 6+.

I ordered two Sandisk Class 4 16GB cards from eBay, one for my Galaxy S and one for my bro's Desire. To my pleasant surprise, they turned out to be Class 6. Not sure how much of a speed performance they will provide though compared to the Class 4's. The Class 6's were quite a bit more expensive.

What's the views on the official car kit? - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260661287553

Decent?

IMO for £45 I wouldn't bother, its only plastic with a built in charger. Myself, I just got one of these...

Granted, it doesn't come with a charger, but just charge it with a £7 Vodaphone blackberry in-car charger. Total = £17. It rotates horizontally too, which is cool for when/if you use it as a sat nav on long journeys.

Good card to upgrade to? - http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_6&products_id=106392

Seems good value for 16GB.

That would be fine, I have the equivalent card from Kingston (albeit not at such a bargain price ) and I've had no issues whatsoever.

Go for Class 6+.

If I want to go for Class 6 I can only get 8GB around this price range.

A decent amount of people seem to say the Sandisk class 2 cards end up performing at class 6 speeds anyway.

Go for Class 6+.

I'd normally agree, but the price increases exponentially if you go for high class cards. Unless you're moving hundreds of megabytes of files regularly, its a waste of money just for faster transfer speeds, again, in my opinion.

Well with Froyo Apps2SD, the faster the SD card, the quicker you can run your app off the SD. And for things like A2SD+ it pays to have a faster card. Yes SOME Class 2 cards perform at Class 6+ speeds. But not all.
I've also just read somewhere that having an ext3 partition can slowdown 720p recording? Any truth to this?
No idea.

HTC look to be releasing a WHITE VERSION.

I myself will be sticking with the brown. Hoping the October release of phones will get the price under ?380.

Saying that, the same site seems to suggest they aren't really looking to go back to AMOLED but sticking with "Super LCD" for their models.

Amazon lists theirs as having: 3.7-inch Sony SuperTFT touch-sensitive screen with 480 X 800 WVGA resolution

HandTec list theirs as: 3.7 inch SLCD Touch Display

Both are still shipping with Android 2.1 though. I would have thought the latest batch would have been 2.2 :s

    • I disagree; they come off very "bitchy" and "whiny". Make a great product and combine that with a great price (free) and people will come over to your side. Or build it and they will come as they say. Constantly trying to get attention by complaining all the time, will turn people off to your product.
    • It use to be a nightmare, with LibreOffice supporting a newer draft ODF standard by default, and Microsoft Office supporting the older non-draft standard. Now that they both support the same version of ODF, they should be interoperable.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.171 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. Brave Browser 1.91.171 changelog: General Fixed Cardano not being disabled on upgrade to Brave Origin. Upgraded Chromium to 149.0.7827.103. • Hi. As the title suggests, I can't access the forum on my phone. I'm using Edge on Android and when I try to navigate to the forum I get a "we value your privacy" popup and none of the buttons are clickable. It effectively stonewalls me from reading any forum content.
    • Honestly you're not wrong about AdGuard. Neowin frequently has lifetime license discounts for them and that's how I got my cheap family license a few years ago to run it on all my devices.
