iPhone 4 Loses Reception When You Hold It By The Antenna Band?

This is a reader video found on Macrumors forums illustrating something weird. When the guy holds the iPhone in his hands, touching the outside antenna band in two places, he drops reception. Placing the phone down gets him 4 bars.

Well, some people are saying they (Apple) already knew about this issue. Hence why we have the iPhone bumpers now. I am not so sure myself. Although, I am pretty sure someone did predict this problem happening.

Somebody also confirmed it with a 3GS, so it might just be iOS4.

...but if it is a design fault with iPhone 4 :laugh: how the hell did it get past testing!.
