Wow those do look terrible. What the hell happened?

that's how the majority of the cars look like. I'm going to hold off on picking up my pre-order and read some reviews. as of right now, if the game play part of the reviews isn't damn near perfect, i'm cancelling/returning it.

Yeah...OK

This is just unacceptable. Looks like something that was designed using MS Paint and even though Photomode looks very good it is not representative of the "in-game" quality.

Don't know about others but personally i have fun when i am actually playing a game and not taking screenshots of it.

post-287862-12905808624165.png

only import 50 cars from psp

so i'm watching the gamespot now playing thingie and the replay is in HD, and the game looks like ass... it looks like AA doesn't exist.

So what do the cars look like, better than the Celica above or worse? :p

Very sad it took them almost 6 years dev time to create a half assed game. Oh well, I will still give it a shot but I will be renting before dropping the $60.

Yeh im renting first aswell, after playing forza 3, GT5 needs to be able to compete with it. If it doesnt, looks like im going to buy an xbox for one game :(

while i have played forza3 on a friends xbox360, never played the series when i had a 360. i did like it :D ,

but no way in hell im i going to buy a new 360 just to play it.

yes the standard cars in tg5 do look poo some times

compaired to the preimum ones.

there is more to GT5 than forza3 and PD have done some amazing work with it. yes we would have all prefered every single car

to have "preimum" graphics but would you rather have some standard cars than Non what so ever?

For those who are into this game way more then I am (meaning veterans of the series) and who also know their stuff about cars (I know gas and brake, and how to change oil), if you could list what the good all around starting car and / or cars that more or less a noob like me to the series should focus on using and purchasing for awhile, it would be greatly appreciated.

When you start your drivers career it will recommend you pick up a used car, just ignore that and go to dealerships. You can buy quite a few cars new, but the Honda Civic Type R 1997 is the best bet for starting. Costs basically all your starting credits.

I reached level 6 last night, I love the RPG element added in regards to levelling up your drivers. There's so much to do, I took a break at level 6 to do the karting, it's actually a lot of fun laugh.gif License tests are as hard as ever in regards to getting gold.

I'll post a few pics of my starting car in a bit, spent a load of credits tuning it and adding some parts to the body.

License tests are as hard as ever in regards to getting gold.

Personally, I'd disagree about the license tests getting harder. I think they're getting easier, as I've actually got gold on quite a few of them already. :p I'll post my current tally when I get back on later today. All I can remember is that I'm up to the I-A license now, so only two to go. :)

I'll try and post some pictures later as well. I took a quick one last night of my go-kart. :)

You now have a racing wheel, STFU :p

I really can't wait to get stuck into this but I'm not going to lie about how disappointed I am by the state of some of the non-premium cars. I sold my Xbox 360 and Forza Motorsport 3 which I thought was fantastic, primarily to merge my BD player and games console into one unit.. but also because I knew GT5 was starting to loom on the horizon. It's impossible not to be disappointed looking at how poor those standard models are.

I suspect there will be some very, very critical reviews of the game because of these.

My copy should hopefully be waiting at home for me when I get back tomorrow :)

I'm really worried about GT5 now, seems like it's gonna be a massive let down :( I also have no idea when my copy will arrive, been in limbo for 3 days now at the depo...but to be honest, after all this talk about the horrific standard cars and poor graphics (for the tracks) I'm not that excited for it anymore :/ it's turning into the biggest disappointment of the year.....I'll reserve final judgement for when my copy arrives one day though. That is my 2 cents, take with a grain of salt.

I'm pretty enraged about how the standard car models look, looks completely as if no effort was put into polishing them at all. Not having 800 standard interior view is perfectly fine with me but I don't think there is much excuse for leaving the exterior as is from GT4 imported into GT5.

I don't think it'll be the flop some people are fearing. Just been reading some of the reviews from the big web sites and they're saying the same kind of thing - a flawed masterpiece. Lots of things about it are wrong, but they're outweighed by how good the rest of it is.

And, of course, you may find a word or two about older versions. At Computex 2026, together with NVIDIA, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra, its most powerful laptop to date, powered by NVIDIA's RTX Spark processor. Details about this computer are currently scarce, as Microsoft has only revealed certain parts of its specs. So far, we know that the computer has a 15-inch mini-LED display, a rich set of ports, a powerful processor, and all-day battery life. It also comes with a new wallpaper, which you can already download here in full resolution. The Surface Laptop Studio is not the only NVIDIA-powered Surface, which Microsoft unveiled this week. At Build 2026, the company also debuted the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, an odd-shaped desktop with a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU and an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision, connected via the NVIDIA NVLink-C2C chip-to-chip interconnect for high performance. According to Microsoft, it can run models with up to 120 billion parameters locally without relying on cloud GPU infrastructure. These two new Surface devices are likely to cost quite a lot, and for those who need a more affordable device, Microsoft is preparing the next-gen Qualcomm-powered Surface Pro and Surface Laptop. This week, details about these two devices leaked in plenty of detail. Other announcements at Build 2026 include the following: Microsoft unveils new security tools for IT admins and developers building AI products Microsoft announces Scout, an OpenClaw-powered personal agent for enterprise customers Microsoft unveils MAI-Thinking-1 reasoning and MAI-Code-1 coding models Microsoft announced a new Windows 11 native command-line utility Microsoft unveils Majorana 2 quantum chip, accelerating commercial timeline to 2029 Microsoft believes that AI agents will eventually replace apps through Project Solara Microsoft introduces Web IQ, a Bing-powered search system built for AI agents Last week, Microsoft released a new Experimental build, which introduced a major Start menu upgrade. Speaking of new features, many users are very annoyed about the way Microsoft delivers them. Recently, a frustrated user shared their experience with gradual rollouts, and even Microsoft engineers admitted there is a flaw in the system that prevents new features from applying properly. One of those new features includes the ability to uninstall AI models in Windows 11 with a single click. Windows 11 is finally getting fixes for its slow context menus. Marcus Ash from Microsoft confirmed that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are going to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." According to Marcus, Microsoft will share more details soon. Windows Insider Program Windows 11 preview builds, released last week, are now available for download as standalone ISO files. However, the front-facing USB Type-C is data-only, and there are some quirks with the computer's memory, so check out the full review. The AMD RX 9070 GRE has been released worldwide, and we published a benchmark review comparing this powerful graphics card to the RX 9070 XT, 7800 XT, the NVIDIA RTX 5070, and RTX 4070. It has solid, balanced performance, plenty of RAM, and low temperatures, but watch out for mediocre ray tracing performance and not the best efficiency. Also, we reviewed the Cuktech 10 Ultra, a compact, high-power charger with four ports and a big display full of various stats. This tiny charger can pull nearly 120W and spread that power according to each connected device's needs. It also comes with a high-quality 240W cable, three power modes, and retractable prongs. • Let's goooooooo! I've been loving the entries so far! I still have to finish Rebirth (things have been busy!)! Excited for this next installment.
    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
