I'm loving the game so far. I'm a bit gutted about a few things though. :(

1 of them being the Standard Cars. Some of them are not too bad and look ok. But some are dam right terrible!! They definatly stick out like a sore thumb during races and the headlights are terrible in the dark!

2. Trial Mountain. This was one of my favourite levels in the pervious GT's. It looks like it's just been pulled straight from GT PSP or GT4. The lake at the end of the track that sticks out!

But I do love the Photo Mode and Challeneges.

it's because they couldn't yet. that's why IGN review isn't coming out until the 25th

Yup, I know. They shouldn't have reviewed it until they could review the ENTIRE game and actually PLAY the entire game and get the full experience.

I am reading now that in addition to "standard" cars, we are getting imported "standard" tracks. This over at the neogaf thread. WTF. No worries, I will check it out when I get home. Mine is already installed courtesy of my son :)

Here is what the 133mb patch does for us:

This just in from Eurogamer Reviews Editor Oli Welsh: The patch was 133MB and downloaded and installed in a couple of minutes. When the game booted, it then recommended a further install from disc which took about five minutes.

It unlocks open and private racing lobbies, community features such a meassage board, mail and gifts, Gran Turismo TV (a store for downloading video content - all free at the moment), the Museum (cards/photos about automotive history that can be traded) and a news service on the title screen.

Started with a Honda Civic Type R (premium car). Basically eats your whole starting budget, think it costs like 19,950cr out of your starting 20,000cr.

Just spent about 25,000 credits from race wins doing it up though cool.gif Up at about 225BHP from around 170/180 I think it starts at.

The exact same car I started with. :) Did you buy it from the used dealership as well? :p

All I've done with it at the moment is change the oil, which cost me 250CR. I've got several other cars from completing the licenses. I'm up to the International B licenses now. I had to take a little break from them after doing the I-C license, as you need to be Level 9 to do the I-B license, so I did the go kart challenges (done all the Beginner ((Level 1)) and Intermediate ((Level 7)) races, but the Advances races require you to be Level 17), which are a blast! :D Also just finished the first Top Gear Test Track challenge, as my brother wanted to race around the track. He finished last once, and every other time, he kept getting DQ'ed. Funny moment, he got DQ'ed on the last lap in one attempt, trying to imitate Michael Gambon. :p

    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
