It is a great decision IMO.

It is pure RPG - you can't fight Cactuar in Corel Desert without having appropriate Materia and XP Lv. It is pure & beautiful old-school and 100% based on GT philosophy-principles.

I know that many will find it flawed, wrong and such, but hey - it is simple:

You want full physics, full damage and so on? No problem. You just need to progress into the game.

Besides, it will make a greatest handbrake an all potential flood of damage-only videos I was really worried to see all over the internet. If damage was enabled from the start, all you would see on YouTube with "GT5" tag would be "Enzo Crahfest", "F40 wrecked", "Murcielago Crashing ZOMG" and so on. This design-decision will just make it rare - and that is good.

Even from business perspective - I can see that all principals (manufacturers) that gives licenses to use cars to PD will praise such decision in long terms, thus allowing them to use more cars and everything in the future.

Above all things that are exectued in unique and perfect manner of GT heritage, this one stands out the most in my book.

Good luck :p

Apparently the install is 8GB and takes 20 minutes, if true, dunno who made up the 40 minute thing.

Three ways of starting the game

1) No install (don't have to wait)

2) Install everything (have to wait)

3) Install while playing (don't have to wait)

Pretty much a given I'll just be installing everything, game will be in my PS3 for days.

Good luck tongue.gif

Hope yours turns up today mad.gif(not jealous, honest)

So not fair! my copy shipped Monday morning and has been sitting in a courier depot for 2 days now! maybe I'm lucky and it comes tomorrow but I suspect they have been instructed to hold onto it till the 25th...I hope my gut feel is wrong! :p

Hi

My copy was delivered this morning but having trouble with it. Installed the game but it comes up saying a connection to the server could not be established?

The game loads up to the homescreen but then the cursor disappears until you get the error again?

Any thoughts?

My internet is working so I know it can't be my end

Cheers

GT Servers not switched on till tomorrow maybe? Remember the release date isn't today so there is no complaints if the online aspect isn't working yet.

GT5 for ?26.99 wink.gif

Ill be home soon!

GT5 for ?129.99 ;) I'm in work till 17:30!! pinch.gif

Got my copy from Shopto today. It downloaded the update and I did a full install and started the game, there's was a 5minute long loading screen until it showed a connection to the server could not be established. Now I'm at the screen where the white racer is walking on the track and none of the controls work?

    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
