ChaNinja, what are the chances of you doing something similar with your block os remake icons :)

Very high! I still love BlockOS! Not sure if you noticed but it had a big influence on my new icons e.g. the document type icons. It'll be a long way down the roadmap though, gotta finish these icons before I forget how I made them!

BTW I'll be curious, could you give us the list of programs you used to make them? (that's not simple photoshop evidently :p)

I used Cinema 4D XL for the main part of the designs, then exported to Photoshop for shadows and touchups, then finally to Axialis Icon Workshop for compilation. GIF Movie gear helped a great deal with the animations (timing and optimizing). Photoshop's Automate/Batch functionality was extremely helpful with the animations. I will try my best to make a detailed tutorial soon, time is really playing hard-to-get these days!

Is there a Winamp Skin? That would be smooth!

I was definately gonna make one but I'm addicted to Foobar 2000 now and if I do make a Winamp skin it'll be purely for you guys as I'll have no use for it.

The main reason I dig Foobar is cos of its excellent Global Hotkey functionality. I've set it up so that I can do anything and everything I need to do with the player without having to switch out of whichever app I'm using or without touching my mouse. Its great when you're "in a zone" and don't want to shift your concentration from what you're doing. I use mostly [ALT + Keypad] and [CTRL + keypad] combinations. You just have to make sure you don't make conflicting hotkey settings with other apps like Photoshop e.g. CTRL + "-" and CTRL + "+" is a no-no.

Also it uses my VS elements for the default skin. Matches perfectly ;) .

I'm aware of the "BlueAmp" addon for Winamp that allows for global hotkeys but its not nearly as comprehensive as Foobar's!

So Winamp is very low on my priorities but I may just do one for you later :)

heh and when is your site going to be up?? its completely done everything worked from my point of view try it!

:( Don't remind me about my site RaQ, its a case of "So close, yet SO far!" Bottom line is its not ready to go live until I sort out a major bug in the Admin section. Lemme just say that I think you'll all be very happy with the site when its finally live. You'll be able to communicate one-to-one with me, and all my work will be carefully categorized, described and available. No tedious packages, releases etc. Everything will be downloadable in their components so you can download only what you want. It'll have more than just themes btw.

Oh and a good friend of mine Sven (who's also supposed to help me with my site  ) has bought the www.chaninja.com domain name for me woohoo!!! I was getting worried some little punk would grab it just to **** me off! Whew!

ok, i just looked for the icons which i think should be in the set! if you would do them in "ChaNinja" style, it would be really cool. but in the end its your thing if you do them or not. its all up to you! just have a look!

I can do those no problem. Most of them look like toolbar icons...can you tell me where they appear please RayVN? And I think I've already done that last one, its the "Default Icon".

Anyone else want to add to this? Please have a think and do so now, so far I have to do the Control Panel (category view ones), toolbar icons and the ones RayVN showed above. And Cameras and Scanners (can't believe none of you mentioned that!). What else?

i replaced the shell32.dll with the one you can download here, but the default icon is still the same, it didnt change! i'll have a look in the shell and change it myself...

all the icons i showed are in the left site of a folder, i think its called webview, isnt it? but it think you know what i mean, just this thing on the left side with all the handy links, like copy or delete a file. and there is the shutdown icon (logoff is useless, i removed it from my startmenu). hope this helps

I can see the influence :) Looking fwd to it

oh btw i meant if you want www.chaninja.com to go to your folder with no URL redirect but act like a real domain my provider charges $25 one time fee so.. if you wish to my paypal is [email protected] okay? ;) btw i'm not getting any profit etc.

Hey Chaninja,

Those AVI animations are incredible! I love them all.

They really brought my desktop to life. Thanks mate, your a champ.

As for the icons, I like them all, except the folder open and close ones. There is too much white on them.

In your AVI animations there is a picture of a folder, and that looks a lot better than the one in your icon set. It has a nice shade of grey instead of flat white.

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
