First post he said he would produce packs that matched the other RC5 color schemes.

:) Dont people read the entire thread anymore :(

Theres only 11 pages ... Not that many really ...

Anyhoo, going back to your other post on the other page, have you tried manually swapping the shell32.dll and shdocvw.dll ... The way I did it (as mentioned on page 3, did youread the whole thread :p) was to boot to safe mode/dos prompt ... Rename shell32.dll and shdocvw.dll to have a .jfk extension (so I know it was me who renamed it) in the Windows/System32 directory and also in Windows/system32/dllcache once that was done I just replaced the files in windows/system32 with Chaninja's premodded dll's and I was able to reboot and voila I had all the animations etc installed :)

Anyways... my question still stands... I wouldn't have asked more than once, If I didn't find the answer in the thread... heh.

Can I ask, what exactly are you having trouble with?

The method I have described again above, although long-winded will work, just make sure you rename the shell32.dll and shdocvw.dll in both directories before copying Chaninja's pre-modded dll's over to the the system32 directory. As a side note also, make sure you boot into safemode/dos prompt as if you boot into safemode with a gui, the files will be in use and you will not be able to rename/replace them.

Chaninja's method is easier IMO, and I will be using that on his next update (although I did have a problem at first understanding how to replace the avi's etc until I watched his tutorial video). If you look at his tutorial video, it is quite easy to see what to do, and I found that the avi's etc that needed replacing were easy to locate as his pre-modded dll's have a Chaninja style icon to identify them.

Hope that helps, if not, as mentioned post exactly where you are having the difficulties and Im sure one of us here will be able to help out. (Y)

This isn't really a completed visual style, so I would have to agree with Endoscient

maybe it sh©ould be in

Neowin Board > Customizing Windows > Customizing Windows XP > ChaNinja

P.s. I said it before and I'll say it again; I'm loving these icons! >_< great

p.p.s. I need/want more ;)

im pretty sure windows xp isnt the only operating system thats supports 32-bit icons.

Well, it is... ;) There are weird work arounds to make programs use alpha transparency in icons in Win9x, but native 32 bits support in icons is available in Xp only (and, of course, Server 2003 and Longhorn). Mac os X also has a similar icon format (its a different icon format but 32 bits as well), but i guess we are talking about PC.

well you have different settings than me as I only have 15 per page ... if thats the case and you have 40 posts per page, the post will be within the first two pages.

I'm not having a problem with the getting the DLL's to work... I haven't tried them yet. I'm just wondering the easiest possible way to change them... And you say its on Page 3... Where on Page 3... christ... I have 40 posts per page....

just boot into safe mode and copy the new dlls into the system32, system32/dllcache and servicepackfiles/i386 directorys. Then reboot into 'normal' mode and hey presto! it works.

But i couldnt get the file icons to work without loading up the iconpackage file.

Hope this helps!

LogOffTurnOff.jpg

Hi everyone! I don't have much time so I'm gonna make this quick...

I've done the "LogOff", "TurnOff" and "Please Wait" Screens and the Throbber. I'm attaching the resources to this post. Please lemme know what you think!

Still working on the other icons and Toolbars. I'm going through a major transitional period right now and I'll be M.I.A. for a week or two.

I'll try my best to come back tomorrow and answer the questions that have been posted. Thanks for the feedback everyone! :D

GL_RandomHero, my shell32 replacement method is HERE.

TurnOff_LogOff_PleaseWait_Throbber_Resources.zip

Thanks anyways... I already found it the other day. And got them working fine.

And those Shutdown/log off images are looking good.

Hmm... The shutdown worked... the log off didn't... Maybe I messed something up... Hmm

    • COBOL itself is not the problem. Code that has been bodged and kludged over decades but still somehow runs is probably the sort of Gordian knot that even AI can't necessarily unravel.
    • Nice devices but my Surface Pro 9 got bricked from a Windows Update efter only three years. Never buying a device from MS again.
