Manchester City?s new signing Mario Balotelli has been involved in a car crash, the police confirmed on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Italian, who has recently joined Eastlands in a ?25 million deal from Inter, was driving in his Audi A8 when it collided with a BMW in Manchester.

Balotelli was uninjured in the car crash which happened on Saturday morning, but was breathalysed under the standard practice.

The police were called to the scene in Chester Road, Hulme and spoke to the City striker as well as the driver of the BMW but have since revealed they will not be investigating further.

"At 9.45am today we were called to Chester Road in Hulme to reports of a two-car collision," a spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police said.

"Officers attended and found a black BMW had been in collision with an Audi A8.

"Nobody was injured. Both cars were damaged and removed from the scene."

Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere was arrested in the early hours in connection with a "fracas".

A spokesman for the player said the footballer was held after the incident at 0245 BST in Kensington High Street, London, and later released on bail. Three other men were also arrested.

Emergency crews were called after a man suffered minor facial injuries and a woman sustained a broken arm.

Wilshere, 18, made his England debut in last month's friendly against Hungary.

But this week he was named in the England under-21 squad rather than remaining in contention for the senior side's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the four men - two aged 18 and two aged 21 - were taken to a west London police station and later bailed to return in mid-October pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for the player insisted the 18-year-old had been playing the "role of peacemaker" in the incident.

The spokesman said: "Jack Wilshere was arrested by police in the early hours following a fracas but was released on bail later.

"The police have made it very clear that he is an important witness to the incident and played the role of peacemaker and is unlikely to face any charges as a result.

"Jack has made it very clear he will co-operate fully with the police investigation."

Stevenage-born Wilshere came on as a substitute for Arsenal in the 84th minute on Saturday in his team's 2-1 win over Blackburn.

He has played in all three of Arsenal's Premier League matches so far this season, after spending much of last season on loan at Bolton, and is rated as one of the best young English prospects in the game.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 2.45am on Sunday 29 August following reports of an assault on Kensington High Street.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and discovered a man and a woman suffering injuries.

"The woman had suffered a broken and dislocated elbow; the man was treated for a minor facial injury. Both went to a west London hospital for treatment."

So..now that the transfer window's closed here's how I think the big teams will fare this year:

  1. Chelsea - Well aside from being hugely biased I think we still got the strongest first XI and with Carlo having more PL experience we might avoid slip-ups this season. That said our squad looks quite thin, particularly in central defence and center midfield, and we might get into trouble with injuries, rotation and suspension piling up.
  2. Manchester United - Realistically they are the only team to get the PL if it's not going to stay in the Bridge, with more options in attack this year and Berbaflop somehow getting his game together(not to mention Own Goals)they will challenge us till the end unless something goes really wrong. They might have beaten us in the Community Shield but they just got the advantage now,we'll be ready in the PL games.
  3. Manchester City - They've got an expensive squad and an allegedly top manager but I still think it's a year too early for them,on paper they can give anyone a game but getting the team together and managing all these egos will be hard. They might be able to win a few big games(hell they did the double over us last season) but as the Sunderland game blatantly pointed out they're still not ready.
  4. Arsenal - I was tempted to put them even lower but I usually underestimate the Arse(but it's not like they've proven me wrong is it?) Still no goalkeeper and their defence is not exactly what I'd call world classso I reckon they'll once again struggle against the big boys and will be out of the title race by March.

I think the Yidds will end up fifth as they won't handle the Champions League pressure.

I can see the scousers finishing anywhere between 4th and 10th,at the moment 10th looks more realistic but as soon as Hodgson gets the team together they will start playing better. However if you take Reina and the transvestite out of the squad you're left with an utterly mediocre squad, finishing in the top 6 this season will be a success for them.

I picked Drogba as top scorer because aside Shrek no-one capable of getting it and Drogs just hasn't shown any signs of ageing and had better providing than Rooney, with our high scoring games it might be quite easy for him this year.United's OwnGoal is the dark horse in this race.Ironically Malouda deserves a mention too but there's no way we'll keep having an average of 4 goals throughout the season.

Picked the Latics, the Hammers and West Brom as relegation candidates cause they've not really convinced me so far.

Edit : Damn that looks big.

Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is set to be offered the managerial hot-seat at Aston Villa, according to sources at Sky Sports News.

Reports had suggested that Houllier would be offered a director of football post at Villa Park, but it is now believed Villa want the 63-year-old Frenchman to take over from current caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald, with the former France coach set to make a decision within the next 48 hours.

Houllier is currently a technical director for the French Football Federation and has been one of the favourites to take charge of the Villans since Martin O'Neill resigned as manager five days before the start of the season.

Houllier's last spell in England was in charge of Liverpool, where in 2001 he won a treble consisting of the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup. He was in attendance for Reds defender Jamie Carragher's testimonial on Saturday, and when questioned on rumours linking him with the top job at Villa, he said: "Never and always are two words you can't use in football," according to Press Association Sport.

However, any appointment of Houllier as boss at Villa will reportedly be met by opposition from Brad Friedel and Stephen Warnock, who both endured a difficult time when the Frenchman was in charge at Anfield.

It's unreal how the cycle keeps on going

Yeah.. Arsenal really needs to look into the fitness staff we have and their practices.. what is the diet these lads are on? What is their fitness regime? Seems some of our players are more fragile than porcelain dolls!!

    • Simple answer is yes, you will still get the Windows updates and as long as browser is up to date, you will be good. Only thing secure boot does is protect you against boot level threats and make it harder to install other OS's. I've been looking into this pretty thoroughly lately myself as wifes computer has secure boot disabled plus my other, older computers that run Linux, don't have secure boot enabled. Have seen all kinds of questions about this on the Linux Mint and MX Linux forums. Just don't suddenly enable secure boot now.
    • How many other companies will follow Ford's lead? Or, have they already gotten lazy and become enslaved to AI--and now can't figure out how to get out of that mess.
    • Why would any self-respecting intelligent person follow any recommendation by Donald's GOP administration? With almost two years of fabrications, deceit, and blatantly illegal behavior, why believe them now? They had best be gone after the November 2026 election, so we'll wait and see.
    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
