And the MP5 in Call of Duty 4 was nothing but ass and recoil.

Compared to the other SMGs, it has low recoil. Compared to the MP5K in Modern Warfare 2, it has much less recoil.

Oh so that's why I see nobody using it, it's that good.

hey ps3 people (i have the game for ps3 too), if you do split screen online can both people log into their own accounts or does the second player have to be a guest?

Guest only.

I got the game yesterday and I played it in Multiplayer mode only, sp is going to wait :)

So my impressions so far as I never played Treyarch game before:

1. I played on the jungle map first and and I did not like the graphics at all. It seems that the graphics is good on some maps and suck at others, for example - Array and Nuketown are on par with MW2. Maybe its just the colors but I hate the design of player models.

2. LAG! Damn lag, I play on 360 and it changed the host 3 times during my first game, I was like Whaaaat!? Some matches were barely playable and I had to finish them just because I wanted to fulfill a contract. I do not know how the game picks the best host but clearly isn't working!

3. Is it me or we used to have ambient music/sounds in MW2 during the whole match? In BO we have some music in the beginning and some music probably at the end...not sure, but the Jungle map is too quite which drives me nuts lol

Anyways, I'm sure the game is going to grow on me, no doubt. I have no patience to play it tonight again.

Guest only.

Just to add, guest accounts can rank up, but as soon as they sign out the experience they earned is reset.

However, Xbox Live players can sign into 2 accounts & play the game with 1 copy on the same console & rank up, keeping their experience even after they quit (Y)

i'm about half way through the campaign and not really got any idea what's going on >.< In terms of how it handles... it doesn't feel like cod... MW1 and 2 felt the same in terms of play... Cod5 felt like both of them a little bit too however black ops feels a lot different. the only thing that reminds me that its cod is the constant fragging and overpowered by hordes of enemy.

the part where you are escaping the prision and you have to bring down the helicopter was just a death fest for me. also the mission when you have to take down the rocket, going into the building after you have done the covert stuff, as soon as buddy would open the door, shot killed :/, probably died at least 20 times there trying to get into that room

I'm kinda curious about the sales numbers, whether it outsold MW2 or not.

http://www.codblackopsblog.com/black-ops-sells-5-million-copies-in-24-hours/

Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold a humongous 5 million units during its first 24-hours on sale, beating lasts year?s Modern Warfare 2 record breaking day-one sales figure of 4.7m units in 24-hours. Infinity Ward?s title also went on to make publishers Activision over a Billion Dollars, breaking a number of industry sales records in the process, so chances are that Black Ops will go on to make another mountain of cash for Bobby Koticks firm.

Shares in Activision grew more than five per cent on Monday ahead of the release. Although analysts doubt Black Ops can top the overall performance of its predecessor, if day-one sales are anything to go by, it may well happen.

Despite the whole mix up with my Amazon order, which I still have to technically return to Best Buy, what is sweet is I was right, not only did I get the pre order laser Cell thing, which I really did not want, but I did also get the $20 promo credit that they were offering as well, so I just pre-ordered Gran Turismo 5 for $40. Which that also comes with a $10 credit, so hopefully I can just keep that rolling at Amazon and keep getting games with the pre-order bonus of credit! Makes the whole mishap with the shipping almost acceptable. Key word there is almost.

That's what I used to do with my preorders in the UK & our retailer GAME.

Every purchase rewards you with points which meant more money off the next game. Although eventually I found a game cheaper elsewhere so it broke the chain :p

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
