[Official] CR-48 ChromeOS Laptop Shipment-Tracking

Recommended Posts

Is there still a way to see if any are coming to my City/State/Zipcode, and when they were shipped or will arrive like the shipment tracker?

I believe this here is the best way: https://sites.google.com/site/chromebook101/

I think it's using A. Gamer's final update before he shut it down last night. I can't make out any dates from it though, only locations and number of shipments.

By the way, has anybody tried solving the x=g/chrom-3 puzzle in their spare time? I've managed to solve everything except for that improper integral. I guess I'll wait until I get to that part in class...

the day before the tracker went down there was supposed to be 2 shipped to my zip code today however, there was nothing on my door when i came home from work. :( Perhaps I will get lucky and UPS is behind due to all of the bad weather we have been having.

Hey you never know, I never thought I would actually get one. I checked the tracker all the time and there was ever only one that showed up and it wasn't mine. Then randomly someone rang the doorbell and it was the UPS man!

Got mine today. I totally forgot about applying to receive one. So far, I love it. There are some very obvious bugs such as the volume controls doing absolutely nothing, and a few other random tidbits I have come across. But I will take a free notebook any day. Now I can surf the web while taking a bath...haha. I used to do that all the time until my notebook died. Then I built a desktop.

My volume keys are working? I love it too, so far its great

So far nothing here yet but I'm still relying on the weather for the delay, although the chances are pretty unlikely. The one that showed as coming to my zip shipped on the 25th and was supposed to be delivered on the 31st. According to a map I saw, it actually should have come on or around the 28th.

Apparently my town's population is 4126 so, my chances aren't overly high. I can easily take off a few of those numbers of people I know didn't apply, but it doesn't help much in the grand scheme of things.

Oh well. Maybe one will show up at my door some day.

Nope, not for me. Fully updated and the volume keys do not work. They show the volume control but there is no bar to show where the volume is at. It cannot even be muted. But it is okay, I will deal with a free notebook. :p

I had completely written off ever getting one. I looked at the box and there was some interesting information. First, it appears that my INDIVIDUAL application on the ADVANCED form was the application that was accepted. It also has a small label on the side with what looks like the information from the first few posts as far as the tracking info so that was pretty interesting. Also, windows server 2008 R2 works great on it after installing Luigi to flash the firmware.

    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.

    • We do it all the time on our IT Service desk mailbox to add a reference, in the subject line, once it's been logged and then it's filed into the appropriate sub-folder. Other companies probably do the same thing.
    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
